Idk, we'll have to see how loop-able it is. The boxes that force you to take the turn wide are also gone.
1 -
I could make the smartass comment, pointing out that there are so many god loops left, but I'm gonna make the smartass comment where I point out the fact that it took them only 3 and a half years.
60 -
It's not an infinite.
27 -
Ik but everyone calls it an infinite
8 -
Actually there's apparentely supposed changes to a wide variety of maps this mid chapter. Not just ironworks.
I wonder what killers will complain about next. 2020 is looking good for then atm
8 -
Why cant you just be happy? Also in peanitis is comment he said "we'll have to reveal other changes" so im assuming there fixing other god loops
13 -
Probably gonna complain about how the devs are survivor sides even after god loops are fixed
8 -
Hell yeah, it's about time they started getting rid of these god loops
7 -
ReMoVe palLetS.
WinDowS ShoULd BloCk AftEr one vaulT
12 -
You're right on that, the word still gets thrown a lot even though infinites have been dead for a very long time.
Probably because it's much easier to have everyone agree with "Get rid of an infinite" than "This map has a piece that's good for survivors, DELETE IT".
1 -
Good to see they didn't include breakable walls to fix it. Hope they will do the same with other God loops as well.
2 -
Actually the open hole in the wall may be a breakable wall lol
14 -
It's not like survivors don't do the same ...

It's worth noting there are some loops, on indoor maps and on Rotten Fields, which for some killers are "infinite with the pallet down" meaning an optimal player can loop endlessly even vs. bloodlust 3 by using pallet vaults, some of these being un mind gameable, so you do need to stop the chase to break the pallet even if you play the loop perfectly (because they often incorporate slats/holes which allow your light or body to be seen making mind games impossible)
Also, side note: there are loops which take so long to resolve for even an average player (2.5-3 minutes) that if you chase someone through one of these, you are losing the game, everyone would acknowledge you are losing the game, and whole teams run to them.
Any loop good enough that whole teams run to it immediately, that their every route, every movement, every choice is designed around "if I just get to the ironworks god loop we win", then that's for all intents and purposes infinite. I don't like the wrong term being used, but there are a few infinite looping situations, too, still in the game. (there is one route on hawkins or the game which is de facto infinite but only spawns rarely)

well, we don't know if that's the result of a broke wall. but even if it is a broke wall, that's nothing to worry, at the start of the match you directly to that wall, in order to break it.

god loops shouldn't even be a thing
are you kidding me?
"why is it called a god loop" - "because the killer literally can't do anything if you run to it unless they want to lose 2 gens.. they are perfectly balanced and should stay in the game"
ok
12 -
Yeah, I didn't think about that. It might be a wall that was already broke. Even then, it's still better than before.

Man, those survivor-sided Devs are ruining the Killer experience once again.
14 -
Damn, your bias is showing, might wanna check that.
Killers wont complain about an actual balance change the same way survivors wont. The people who complain for no reason are either extremely biased, only played one side, or dont fully understand the game. Or simply WANT to troll and grief, since balance changes usually ruin that.
Toxic people are toxic. Not just because they play a specific side.
13 -
If Devs update some maps to resolve infinite (or whatever we/you call it), the next patch will be more heavy because a full map must be included in the following patch. We already have patches with 2GigaBytes, it will be longer to download and I think many players don't have the web connection to download more each patch.
Personnally, it don't have more space to allow for this Dead by Bugslight. I'm already locked for 50 hours or more (download during 13 hours or more !...), I think I can't wait more time for a hypothetical (cancerous) play... And it is the same mind for many players !

If the survivor is being chased around the part where the pallet is, can't the survivor still run the killer around that window three times, assuming it's a killer that doesn't have a power to help counter looping? Because the killer running around the window and through the door should still allow the survivor to get enough distance to make the window another time.
Still, looks better than it was before, happy we are actually getting changes to these ridiculous loops in the next patch.
1 -
If I'm the killer I'm going to stand in the new doorway and from there I can land a lunge on EITHER side, so they'll have to go to the pallet and drop it after 1-2 vaults. Same as how you juggle people on badham short fence.
0 -
Wait, devs nerfed toolboxes and god loops???
Survivor bias smh.
5 -
Seems balanced because:
- If the survivor uses the window from the inside they will fast vault and gain some distance granting the chance to reach a loop outside the building.
- if the survivor fast vaults into the building the killer will catch up quickly using the door and most likely get the hit/down as the survivor won't have enough distance to reach a loop.
So basically this change makes the loop a fair 50/50 chance for both sides or at least it seems that way. Obviously there's still Dead Hard for distance and stuff and we don't know what pallet changes there will be so we will have to see. But from the looks of it I think it will be a decent change.

It took them 3 years, but I don't care I just love it
0 -
I’m happy, even as a survivor I hate these loops, anyone that is brain dead could still use these loops, I like loops that require skill
3 -
This is interesting.
I'm excited to see how the changes actually are implemented.

I can see the argument that a loop can take so long it might as well be an infinite. But even an ordinary jungle gym can be run well enough to throw the whole game; or you get that result with back-to-back gyms or jungle gym + the shack. And posters here have indeed sometimes unironically referred to the shack as an infinite. But for me, an infinite should be a spot where, assuming you're careful, you will never be caught. They are something that obviously should never exist in DBD. But a strong loop? I wouldn't agree that strong loops should never exist. and lumping in with infinites all the structures that can waste a lot of time when they're played correctly tends to overstate the problem, and leads to strange statements like "shack infinite."
I don't disagree that there are still great loops in the game. Realistically, every map tends to be pull competent survivors to run its strongest loop; if you're on Coal Tower you ought to run to the house, on the worst maps you run to the shack, and yes, on Ironworks you run to the Ironworks. I think some of those are stronger than others and that's not necessarily a problem. Very few killers are left in the game that have no answers to a good loop with a downed pallet; at best, there's Pig, Mikey, Leatherface and Ghostface. Two of those can make up time by ensuring the first hit finishes the chase and the other two, frankly, need a different kind of help. The only map I'd agree is truly broken because literally every single movement and every single choice is dominated by "run here, get chased, we win" is the Asylum.

I feel that breakable walls was just a band-aid to get rid of god loops
0 -
Now this is a Pog moment
Poggers
3 -
U will need to break the wall for it its not they are reworking.Breakable walls its the bandaid for maps reworks.
0 -
It is... You can waste massive amounts of the killers time just by vaulting that window until it blocks off.

2020 started with Ruin rework. And had a huge effect compared to removing a single braindead-to-use god loop from one of 30 maps. Not trying to put anything on a scale now. Also not saying that the devs do nothing for killers, I never did. But this is a bit less impactful and the survivors world will not fall apart from that
2 -
Good. Once all "infinites" will be removed, the bloodlust is also gonna be gone... I guess
2 -
"until" counters the word "infinite". That's what he is talking about. There are no infinites in the game anymore
1 -
Several maps are gonna get changed this mid chapter according to LeaksbyDaylight
1 -
I just screamed with happiness so damn loud
1 -
I've always said that these loops and the basement should be nerfed. Let's see what comes of this patch.
0 -
Please stop.
killers are allowed to have buffs you know. You don’t need to act toxic towards them as a whole because of some map changes.
if you don’t like it: tell the developers, don’t be toxic about a large group of people needed to keep the game active.
1 -
Except for Huntress ...
0 -
If I had to guess, it will probly be the primary thing that they've been complaining about for years that was only made worse with the Ruin nerf and still hasn't been addressed.
...but who knows what it will be
0 -
I give up.
Babies win! <eyeroll>
0 -
??
Literally every killer agrees that the god loops have to go. Do you play this game?
2 -
Since 2016 which is why I can't stand the way this game and it's babying is going.
I'm done time for a new game with less babies.
0 -
I hope it is a breakable wall. I want the satisfaction of kicking it down every game!
0 -
It probably is a breakable wall
0 -
Having no skill loops is for baby survivors. Keeping the large brain dead loops is for babies. So really it's time for baby survivors to grow up.
1 -
Because despite this change, in a few months they'll change something on the killer side that won't favour them and we'll be back to "Devs hate killers".
0 -
Devs don’t hate killers, they just don’t understand their game.
