Balancing idea?

Backstory: I’m a survivor main because I like playing with friends, but whenever I want to rank up a new character I gain blood points with killers because in my opinion, being a killer is easy and I usually go against purple and red ranks. It’s all about adaptability.

To combat stacking ridiculous perks together like NOED , BBQ , RUIN, and that one perk that makes you have to find a hex totem to even start working on gems that I can’t remember the name of. Or whatever perks killers like to complain about.

My idea is a point system.

max 4 perks

8 point limit

each perk separates into tiers (they already kinda are) but base each tier on an amount of points

really OP perks at 4

semi op at 3

difficult at 2

manageable at 1

that way you have to strategize your build and not just go in with perks that are just unfair.

im new to this forum so if it’s been said before sorry but just an idea.

As a base, how would you even tier perks based on this scale? Calling it 1-4 is just arbitrary compared to each perk's effectiveness.

You have to keep in mind this helps prevent bias from one side over which perks are not working as intended or are plain out breaking the intended play ability of the game. Not just your unhappy gripes.

So perks like ruin and NOED, that can be destroyed before they even come into use, would take up 2 perk slots?

That’s far too harsh for perks that already have counter play imo

"I'm a survivor main that wants killer nerfed because it's just SoOoOoOo easy when I play it at red ranks!" That always sounds a little fishy to me.

Your point system would actually make more sense for survivors given the amount of 2nd chance perks that can be stacked. Not to mention that survivors work as a team of 4 so the killer is actually facing 16 perks.

Another reason killers don't need a point system is because many of their perks have a way to counter them. Any hex perk is killed by cleansing totems. Hide in a locker or run distortion to counter BBQ. Stay 1 to a gen to avoid discordance. Let go of a gen to avoid Thrilling Tremors. You get the idea.

That’s the thing, I think that based off of meta and overall player usage of perks Is how it should be ranked.

Why don’t you like the sabotage mechanic, I want to to know your thoughts on some stuff. I think killers have the advantage and survivors are based off of stealth and teamwork. I can go into a lobby without perks as a killer and still wipe a team, just have to know the strats. Also the hooks don’t stay down for long at all

ruin is manageable imo but stacked with other strong perks it makes the game near impossible. I run small game on every class and wipe every totem I find but it’s never enough because not everyone runs it and there is only so many totems you can do before you become a detriment to the team by not helping in gens. I’m not saying that should be the point scale, just a rough idea.

As Steve would say "Yeh, that's a no."

I’m not saying there aren’t hard games at higher ranks but overall most survivors play to a pattern and it’s easy imo to figure them out.

also I think basing the 16 perks agains the killer is more on the rare side. The really good survivor perks tend to be stacked up just like the over usage of really good killer perks. When I play killer and go against a strong team they usually have similar perks such as self heal and spine chill, then two random perks.

Also to do everything as you have mentioned is hard enough on its own but you also have to factor in the killer knows that the survivors will have to do those certain tasks. You know?

Easy coding. If player 1 - 5 don't match then with a level 6 - 9 killer. Not very hard.

Or get rid of SWF groups and then match making is sorted. No more toxic groups.

That doesn’t promote the game though. People like playing with friends. Getting rid of that would just be making the game less enjoyable.
