BBQ & Chili Bloodpoint Buff should be baseline for Killers & Survivors
Bloodpoint gains are too low both in general for all roles.
The bloodpoint bonus aspect of BBQ and Chili (Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, gain a 25 % stack-able bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 50/75/100%) should be removed from the perk and made baseline for all killers, and survivors should gain a similar bonus for a different game action, such as unhooking other players.
BBQ and Chili is a solid perk on its own without the BP gain, it's nothing amazing but it can be worth a perk slot on certain killers but the BP bonus effect makes it a near necessity for killers looking to level up a new character or reach prestige. The BP bonus being a part of a perk makes it so that players have to decide whether they want bloodpoints or try a new build. Strong gameplay is made of players making build decisions but this decision isn't interesting or fun. It can just lead to disappointing moments if you try a new build and come out of the match with 20k BP as opposed to the 40k you're used to receiving.
Having this effect be baseline encourages killers to divide their time amongst the survivors and discourages tunneling and allows for greater perk diversity while leveling a new killer rather than feeling forced to use 3 perk builds and BBQ. It rewards playing well and teaches a killer to be more aware of the status of each survivor.
The downsides to this change are minor but not nonexistent. This change would cause BBQ and Chili to see less use, sure. But I believe that at high levels the killers that use BBQ and Chili are using it for the information gained in the match rather than the BP gain.
Those who purchased the Cannibal DLC just for BBQ & Chili may be frustrated that their BP bonus perk is no longer necessary for farming. I totally understand that. I think the Cannibal is a solid DLC character and all of his perks have some use, I too bought him just for the BP gains on BBQ. But I feel that this change improves the game's health and makes leveling up a new killer less daunting. It also allows you to practice a killer while you level them, instead of being forced to gain BP on a killer you already have BBQ unlocked, and then investing a bunch of points in the killer you're not playing.
Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have any feedback or ideas on what the survivor version of the bonus effect could be.

I’m not being rude or mean but I don’t think it’s a good change cause honestly that’s like the 1 most used killer perk and I don’t want that nerfed just like what happened to ruin, I to use it and I absolutely love it cause I can level up my killer or survivors faster which is the whole point of it as well but if it’s only just aura reading I would stop using it because it’s practically useless, and btw it’s called a nerf not a buff, a buff if where they make it stronger a nerf is where they make it weaker.

It’s not a nerf. You’ll be able to always get the BP bonus, even without BBQ. The aura reading would be unchanged. If you’re only using BBQ for the BP bonus, then you’ll be able to use a different perk because the BP bonus would be baseline.

I use it pretty much only for the BP gain. I have so much to level up it pains me to see less than 50k per match. If I want to find people I’ll use whispers, it’s constantly active and I know how to find people. I would love to free up my BBQ slot for a different perk.

I'd reread my post. If you like using BBQ for the aura-reading then everything continues as it does now, you still get the BP bonus, you still get the aura reading. You just can choose a different perk if you want without losing the bonus bloodpoints.

That’s my bad I read it wrong, sorry.

I mean, could they? Probably, BP accumulation has no effect on gameplay. Will they? Probably not.
And the reasons have nothing to do with the game itself.
I would wager any amount of money that Leatherface is the most bought killer in DBD, hands down, not even close, and it has NOTHING to do with his power or playstyle, it's not even due to Franklin's Demise or Knock Out, it is strictly down to one perk. I am sure Leatherface has made BHVR hundreds of thousands if not millions in revenue, all due to giving him a double BP perk.
Now I ask you, as a business that has to sustain itself, are you just going to give that up randomly? Probably not.
Now as far as the perk itself, if the BP element is removed everyone just moves to using thrilling tremors. Not only do I get basically the same information (what generator to patrol next) but it can show me generators being worked on closer to me as well, it also blocks generators not being worked on.
BBQ and Chili is definitely an S tier perk due to it's BP and not it's aura reading, which is countered by a lot of tactics and is hardly completely accurate. But between the money that Leatherface buys makes for BHVR and the desire to keep people playing (that's why games have grinds in the first place, keep people playing and hopefully buying some cosmetics here and there) I wouldn't get your hopes up.
Hate to be the Debby Downer, sorry in advance.

It needs to be at this point. For new players especially, the grind for perks and bloodpoints is absurd and imo it's the most poisonous aspect of the game and needs to be changed. It's that terrible. Even just reducing the amount of tiers a perk has from 3 to 2 would help SO MUCH.

Pretty sure this has been rightfully suggested (along with WGLF for survivor) numerous times, but as far as I'm aware (and correct me if I'm wrong) BHVR have always just ignored it. I doubt they haven't seen or thought of it themselves ever but hey that's just BHVR.

Getting all perks on one main survivor and getting all killers to a point where you have all perks and lot's of addons for all of them took me like 4-5 months of playing. Now I don't even know what to do with all BPs, so are you playing much at all? Just play games and soon you have more then you need.
But I understand if you want to prestige all killers and all survivors and get all perks to max on all of them, ok then it will take forever. But in my book that is going too far. I have not prestige a single killer or survivor, I don't see the point of doing that.

The point here is to make the grind more fun, allowing for greater perk diversity and allowing you to keep the same pace of leveling without forcing you to only make 3 perk builds. And people may not have the time to invest in the game that you do.

I think survivors should get more point because they lose addons now i think thats fair and i also believe they should get more point the longer a killer stays at a hook so if camped you at least get good points so its not a total waste see im not totally biased

I don't think people will immediately use Thrilling Tremors over BBQ if BBQ didn't have a BP bonus aspect. BBQ and Tremors provide different information. BBQ is better on fast moving killers like Spirit or Oni, while Tremors can be used to great effect on someone like Freddy who can fake a teleport to a gen and then lift somebody up to block off that gen.
The belief that they wouldn't make BBQ baseline because people would stop buying Bubba is a reasonable assumption but I don't think its true. Bubba is included in several of the game's bundles for free and I believe that they're seeing diminishing returns on Bubba at this point in the game's lifespan. At this point it'd be more profitable to make BBQ's BP bonus baseline as it will encourage people to play new killers. Someone may look at a killer and think they look interesting but be turned off by the idea of grinding them for maybe dozens of levels until they find BBQ. If the grind was more fun players would be encouraged to try new killers.
