Hatch should not spawn when an exit gate is already open

The hatch spawns because the developers don't want the last survivor stalling the rest of the game. When an exit gate is opened it triggers the end game collapse which will kill any remaining survivors after a couple of minutes, removing the ability to stall for a long amount of time, so why does the hatch spawn when there is one survivor left? This basically just decreases the chance of the killer getting a 4k and increases the chance of all survivors escaping, which is unfair to the killer imo.

    How.. exactly?

Unfortunately, hatch is a mechanic to keep survivors playing the game even when they're getting steamrolled. Now that they have DC punishments, it's not really as needed, but maybe a fun way to encourage survivors to push through? Keys shouldn't work on hatches though. At all.

The hatch can spawn when 3 survivors are dead, giving the last survivor a chance to escape and giving the killer a lower chance of 4king. The hatch can also spawn when 3 survivors have escaped, increasing the chance that the last survivor will escape

But that specifically doesn't increase the chance of "ALL survivors escaping" that only gives one survivor a chance.. since hatch only opens naturally when one survivor is left into the match.

Actually, the hatch spawns because there’s no way one Survivor could finish all remaining gens. However, the way it works currently could definitely use some tinkering.

I see it, The hatch shouldn't appear for any player until its the killer vs the last survivor.

I've been in many matches now where it's the last 2 survivors and me the killer. The player I hook, dies on purpose so the last survivor can jump the hatch as soon as it opens so they can escape (save rank).

Most of the time I don't have a chance to kill the 4th player because of this.

The hatch appearing on the floor is actually making me want to leave the 3rd survivor in dying state instead of hooking them, so I've more time looking for that 4th survivor, or where the hatch is. (it's not against the rules to leave a survivor in dying state because they have a bleed out time so the game will end naturally for them). It's because I'm really bored of the 3rd survivor dying on purpose so the 4th can jump the hatch in seconds of it opening and escaping (saving their rank progress).
