Hide survivor names, show SWF in the end screen
Ermm yeah basically the title.
Anyone see anything wrong with this change?
The idea is that:
1 survivors wont be treated differently during the game because names are hidden making it less likely that someone is recognised.
2 it will be clear who was playing with friends in the end which will help with post analysing the game a bit and might even help a bit with disspelling or possible proving the impact SWF has on matches in general.

Yep, this is how it should be done.

I don’t see an issue with this.
There needs to be some identifier in game to know who you have hooked and are chasing but I don’t think it needs to be the persons real game I’d. A number would do in the lobby and in game imo. Reports at the end could send the actual real info to the devs only and once reported you receive a ticket number which can be written down and emailed to you to send more info via the website.
End game lobby they could use a number next to the escape or died icon. 1 for a solo player, 2 for a 2 man and so on.

That would be okay, but maybe only show SWF after chat is closed..
I don’t want to be accused and insulted for using voicecomms when I am not even using anything like that. I am playing often with other random survs that I befriended because it was fun playing with them. Never use voice comms here though..

As long as it shows a symbol showing which players were and weren't survive with friends (as it may be a team of 2 or 3) I don't see a problem.

I'm on the fence about this.
On one hand, it would be great to make sure certain people aren't tunneled (such as Twitch streamers), and it would be great for killers to chill whether or not a group of people are SWF or not.
On the other hand... I just honestly like facing the same groups of people and knowing I faced them again in a match. I don't tunnel or bring a mori for them, I just like facing against the same player so I can test my skill against them again. Though I will admit I tend to play extra tryhard because I want to test my mettle against these folks. And usually we end with some nice chats in the endgame chat. Maybe my experience is an exception, but I do know a lot of people in Western Australia that tend to join my lobbies every once in a while. And I'd like to know they are there.

well technically that means you adjust your playstyle based on who you are facing, which is not I think the idea of this game hence so much stuff is hidden already.
Play hard against everyone you see! (but not unfairly so obviously)

I like this and feel like this could actually end alot of toxic endgame chat and messages at least on console. Will the killer names be hidden from survivors as well?
0 -
I guess that is true. I tend to be nicer when I'm going against just randoms, but I tend to be much more focused when facing someone I know.

I mean Franklin's and Lightborn are perks created for being used only as a response to load out of the opposing team.

I think this is a great compromise and can't see anything wrong with it.

Well yeah but that is for balance reasons, the survivors bring items on top of their perks, seeing them gives the killer some means of countering that.
That is different from specifically playing in a try hard manner jsut because you recognise some survivors.

Show people it's a survive with friends group before we ready up the game. Give us the option if we want to go into a disadvantaged match.
1 -
That's the opposite of what this will do, that will make killers dodge even more or bring powerful add-ons or moris specifically because it's a SWF.

It's a good idea; but remember that the survivor's names will then be visible in the HUD once the trial has started. I don't know if you intend on addressing that, or leaving it as is.

Sounds fair, but the killer should see who’s in SWF before the match too. So they can decide do dodge them or not.

Read part 2, Im not saying we cant EVENTUALLY show SWF beforehand but for now, lets just see it afterwards so you can take that into account when reflecting.
Who knows maybe you have had plenty of matches where you stomped survivors and turns out they were a 4man SWF all along?

I don’t think it’s necessary to hide people names in end game but what they should do is hide it in game lobby and during the match from the killer so the killer won’t check if they are twitch streaming to watch the game while it’s being played. Once the match ends you can show the usernames.

I'll be one of the players dodging the survive with friends group

Dude this is exactly what op is trying to avoid. Not all swf are swat teams some are in it to just have fun and if you show before hand it would just increase wait times for both sides. So what op said is perfectly fine and personally i would like it implemented.

THat is what I meant, hide names in the lobby but show in the endgame screen and show if people were SWF in the endgame screen.
