Any reason this update is so obnoxiously big? Especially for a mid-chapter update

It's really technical, but the ELI5 version is that games have files packed together. When you change one thing in that package, the whole package updates. Basically since this update changes a lot of different assets around the game, a lot of different packages need to be updated, so the update is larger. You've also got all the new cosmetics and rewards from the Rift as well as changes to various killers, QOL changes, and bug fixes.

Well, that is what happens when you change large parts of maps. The game is probably smaller now in memory size, but you have to download those maps again.

Mine is 7.5 too. Of course it's on the switch, so that might be it. Had to clear up some space for it. Now waiting for it to complete in roughly 7 hours.

This will be double for me, since I will probably have corrupted files and the triggering of the EAC, like after almost every update. I don't have the fiber. :)
