Dev created Build challenges
It would spice up gameplay and add variety. My idea is for the devs to put up a build for survivors and killers and everyone who uses that build in a full game would be awarded bloodpoints or a small amount of shards. Use it as many times as you want during the week and once tuesday hits, a new build would be added. Just a thought. I'm sick of the meta running around ruining games.

@not_Queen This sounds interesting.

I think this could be fun, yeah. Make it like the Shrine of Secrets, two rotating challenges for Survivor and Killer respectively that give a new Perk build every week and potentially let you try out Perks you don't own. It'd be a pretty fun way to mix things up.

I definitely like this idea as a way for players to try out perks, perhaps it could also be tied to specific characters so that players have an opportunity to occasionally try out a non-base game killer or survivor as well.
Not sure how I feel about bloodpoints as a reward, maybe give shards as a one-time reward for successfully pipping while using the build. Shards would also go well with the theme of testing out perks and characters, as they can be used in the shrine/store to acquire them respectively.

Also, it does sound like it could be a fun and interesting weekly challenge! My only concern is that you might end up with repetitive matches when everyone is attempting the challenge.

This would be great. It could combine with the Shrine of Secrets so the builds include perks on there to encourage people to get them...
Or... maybe it could randomize after you do a game with them (there is a DBD perk randomizer out there. Something like that could spice things up). Does not have to be a weekly thing, but it could encourage survivors and killers to try perks.
Survivors: Use 4 random perks to escape the trial... after 1 successful escape, you can get more builds for more shards.
Killer: Use 4 random perks to kill 2 survivors (without a mori). Success is met with a new build and more rewards.
This would give killers and survivors reasonable goals to go for and allow them to see new perks so they can find ones they like instead of being slaves to the meta.

I agree. Imagine the weekly challenge for everyone would include running No Mither. If one of my teammates runs this perk from time to time, because they want to challenge themself or just feel like it. Sure, that's alright. They can go for it. I don't mind. But if I can expect to see this perk in most of my survivor games for the week just because everyone wants to get their bonus points, I don't know.. guess I'll be playing more Killer for the next 7 days.
Long story short: To avoid sudden increases in perk usages that might affect the overall gameplay or lobby times negatively, the suggested perk build should be random to everyone.

I really like the idea of random setups... maybe it could be an option to select in a lobby the random-setup-function, than in the loading screen your perks will be generated. You see your setting when the game starts. The reward could be 50% more bloodpoints only for using randomsetup and if you escape you get 100% more bloodpoints. That’s a nice way for more different settings and at the same time something against the grind.

Sounds a bit like the challenges from Diablo 3, where you need to play someone elses build and finish a rift within a given amount of time. Would be great, I would also like that as an additional challenge. They said they think about a rework of the dailies or are working on it. I would definitely vote for adding that as a weekly challenge. There are builds enough so it doesn't get repetitive, players could even send builds in and suggest related ToDo's for the match, and they do a short review of which to add.
Like "Spirit with Prayer Beads, Ruin, Surveillance -> get at least 1 gen grab"
or "Yui or Ash with Breakout, MoM and Styptic -> get one survivor to wiggle free while you apply the breakout effect on him"

The idea has merit, but I don't know that everyone running the exact same build for a whole week would create what I'd call "variety".

I wouldn’t see it only as a daily challenge. The player can use the randomsetup every game and get so a lot of different settings and it’s a nice way to earn more bloodpoints :-)
So the game has a new mechanic and you don’t see the same metaperks in every match

Yea how about no.

Dude comments like this are not productive at all. I get that you dont agree but do you have any valid points as to why?

Just imagine if builds gets requested which encourages bad or an overall annoying gameplay. Endgame-Week where every kilelr runs noed, remember me, blood warden and rancor.
Switching the meta isn't that exciting also from a solo survivor perspective it's not helpful if people running perks which won't increase the quality of games. Don't get me wrong I don't like the DS/Unbreakable combo. There are so many perks and builds which are just awful to run. People stil lrun stealth builds. And it's okay that just a tiny little amount of people doing that but you won't win games with stealth. Since Whispers stealth isn't even an relyable option. Or perks like Better Together. It's not a good strategy.
If you tell me the devs would rework the shrine to a big thing where every perk is listed and viable under different conditions and every week some perks costs a little bit less, okay.
But rewarding people for playing bad designed perks? Making games even more rough especially in low ranks? And tbh would that add true variety?
Normally players skill level increase over time in different games but not in dbd. No offense but I am also playing this game since Nov 16 and the survivor skill level ist the exact same they just have way less strong tools to compensate this. And before we encourage the whole playerbase playing weak/silly/dumb builds how about telling people how to play good?
I mean the developers just added an indicator that trying to unhook yourself is actually killing you if you fail. But why do people did this? I am not sure but probably because of the tutorial. It literally tells you: Unhook yourself and the game automatically struggles for you. You don't have to wonder if all new players just take their 3 chances and die.
Next examble: cleansing a dull gives you 1000 points. gens 1250? flashlight safes 400? 500?
Most players still don't know how to play correctly and then introducing a reward for playing a specific perk build? Sorry but it's alsready frustrating enough seeing people playing awful while they're running perks which won't help them improving at all.
And the meta is changing slightly. I see way more survivor running Kindred, Detectives Hunch and Bond. I love this. Because it helps them so much making good game decisions based on the informations they get. Im seeing people running vault build more often than before also Spine Chill on its own got a slight comeback. Adrenaline isn't that present than 1-2 years ago where literally everyone was running it and many killer players got pissed. Inner Strenght. Such a good perk especially for people who likes doing totems, preparing, playing efficient.
if you tell me reworking the Shrine as whole and making special offers every week so people can overthink buying this perk, okay. But force people running perks like Flip Flop, tenacity, Unbreakable, MoM. Making solo survivor even more rough than it is by forcing thousands of people running it or other perks which from a killers perspective could become very annoying?
Yea no how about no.
But Im still excited for some future perk changes where perks get changed or buffed in a good way so that people tend to run them more often.
