Is this really what the devs intended?

I finally logged on tonight to play some DbD. I haven't played since the last patch, so around 2 weeks ago. I watched a couple streams and saw some screenshots, but I didn't realize the maps were this pathetic. I played on the "realm" Coldwind Farm and got the map "torment creek.".

I literally thought I was living the meme. Like I went into some map that a fourth grade killer main that doesn't understand that the main enjoyment from the game comes from the cat and mouse chase. There were literally SEVEN pallets throughout the entire map. I run windows of opportunity because I feel it's a very good perk, so I was able to see everything. After the first chase, there were only a few pallets left. That means that I have nothing to do during the chase except run into dead zones. I'm actually living the meme.

Surely there's some level headed people out there that see how terrible this is. Did the devs really intend to make the maps this barren? To take out all the mindgames. I have no idea how someone who enjoys playing both sides of the game could think that 7 pallets on map, with huge deadzones is "balanced".

It's actually unbelievable to me. When is enough enough?

Could teach you to save those palllets?? Been playing through the patch and saving pallets feel easier tbh. I’m a purple who’s weaseled into reds with ######### mm and I feel like it’s getting easier for survs. It’s even easier to 360 now. Doesn’t work all the time still.

I think it's intentional unfortunately. I was hoping that it was because of bad RNG at first but this happens really often.

Are those pallet all really strong pallet like jungle gyms?

Btw i still see very strong chain tiles in father campbell's chapel. I had a match where survivor can chain killer shack into jungle gym into 2 really safe tiles (a pallet in between 2 long straight structures) into TL and into the main building. The tiles are so close that they can always find another tiles to loop even if they messed up in 1 tile without getting hit.

I don't know if they changed this map or not, but it felt really bad seeing these kind of maps.

Played some killer games earlier and gotta admit it feels like wins are literally handed to me on a silver plate. Had a good looper in one match (have known him for years now so I know that guy is a looper) and even he went down like a rank 20 due to giant dead zones.

Better work on your window looping and mind games! Pallet campers have officially joined the killer's team.

Seriously though, with the changes surviving for a decent amount of time in a chase will require people to learn to play a lot more around windows and LoS tiles and less around pallets. It will take some time getting used to for sure, but it's not all that bad.

before reworking maps they should fix dedicated servers. Players get hits after pallet is already dropped. Vaulting is another issue which is why I always use resilience. I feel players drop pallets early due to dedicated servers so saving pallets might be too risky

I mean if a pallet is gonna keep you from getting hit then by all means. I mean like, some people just throw them just bc they’re scared. You can’t waste it like that. I feel it though. Resilience does help but I feel like it affects more one hit killers.

So, You want all pallet now re-spawning or add some pallet into 100 pallet ?

    just try to adapt bro....

if I am not mistaken.... Now, after the update when you are chased and vault a windows... get bonus point ( 100 point )

just try vaulting a window better than dropping a pallet... just try to save pallet now ... ( maybe until next patch )

Well it's bad RNG. I also got blood lodge with 20+ pallets or ormond with 4+ jungle gyms. Corn maps are usually survivor sided btw.

The only map that reduced pallet count was disturbed ward, and there only in the main building.

I didn't notice that many deadzones tbh. Havent played torment creek yet, but I think they mainly removed the braindead second window and replaced it with a door/pallet combo

Pallets should always be the last thing you go for; windows make it easier to conserve them.

Deadzones do need to be addressed though
