Devs need to address toxicity.
There was a discussion earlier that devolved into a "survivor toxicity post match vs killer toxic gameplay" argument that was killed. That isn't what this is about. T-bagging, Flashlight spamming, Camping, Tunneling, Looping, etc are in the game and that is something that could be addressed in a different format.
What I am talking about here is the blatant toxic behavior you see match to match. Sandbagging, Alerting, Mori-spamming, etc. Its bad enough that people do it normally and you have to go through the loops to wait for them to get punished. But you have Youtubers and Twitch streamers blatantly coming out and saying they're purposely ruining the game for people because they're upset. I don't understand why something like that is hard to identify and deal with and/or punish. It shouldn't be hard to punish people who push toxic behavior in the game, and they should want to. For this specific instance you can see it alot in Tru3Ta1ent's streams. You see the same people coming back again and again with the same old mannerisms and toxic behavior come back and troll for games in a row. You can usually tell who influences them by which "memeish" phrase they spout out. Why is it that after theyve been identified and reported by the people in the game and there is obvious video proof that they aren't dealt with? If they are being punished, why are they allowed to come back time after time? At some point you need to lay down the banhammer to the worst of the community, and you need to whip out the beating sticks for minor behavior issues otherwise it festers.
The reason I bring it up is because it can actually kill the game. I got back into the game after not playing since launch 2 months ago. Im not the highest rank but i get to red ranks every reset (survivor mostly), and it makes the game less enjoyable. Theres days where my SWF group (we play solo and together obviously, not just 100% SWF) can't be bothered to boot up the game because we don't want to deal with the toxicity. It obviously isn't just an isolated incident because other people are posting about it as well (even if the back and forth devolves). The solution can't be to close the threads and let the behaviors continue because that just leaves everyone involved less happy and lets the problem continue to fester. I think DBD's best days can be ahead of it gameplay wise, and i look forward to seeing it, but I don't see it surviving if you lose the community to toxicity.

I think everyone can agree that sandbagging and mori spamming are both toxic. Even in retaliation its toxic. Eye for an eye makes the world blind.
The harder thing to prove is intent, but when you have people recording themselves saying theyre doing it on pupose it shouldn't be a hard decision.
3 -
Harder to prove with in game reports, but again there are blatent instances on video
https://youtu.be/ivizT4Hfvj0?t=926
To move back to my example with Tru3Ta1ent, you can see it earlier on in the match where they try to lock him into a gen they're about to finish, but then lock him into ruin briefly. They're also laughing about it and saying that the'yre doing it on purpose on their stream. Something like this isn't hard to identify and punish.

Some sad individuals on this forum will tell you that toxicity is part of the game, and that they enjoy that fact.
And that you're an SJW for not embracing toxicity like the moronic brats they are11 -
Those are the individuals who are generally the toxic ones. "Let the world burn, im doing fine" logic. Toxicity kills communities, and if nothing is done about it the game will follow.
2 -
Some of them even openly claim "THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO INSULT OTHERS", and when you point out them, they call you toxic, and "why yo attackin me ;-;". Hypocrisy at it's best.
20 -
I mean, sure they have the "right" to do it. But the devs reserve the right to prune the community as they see fit. The community can try all it wants to help fix it, but one bad apple can ruin the bunch and if the devs don't work harder to fix the issue they're going to lose their core base.

wow, ok. i had no idea. that is one of the stupidest things i have ever seen. i can't imagine being caught in that and then banned for leaving.
It is very rare, to be honest, and if it occurs, it is done to the most toxic survivors in the game, really, they deserve it sometimes.
Btw. the fact you, nor me, did not see it in the game speaks for itself.

rare or not its an issue. even retaliatory toxic behavior is toxic, and it doesn't help fix the initial toxicity it just reinforces it.

The devs aren't going to do anything. They actively promote and profit off the toxic nature of this game.Thats why i bring it up. If the devs don't see anything happening to their bottom line they aren't influenced to do something about it. Telling them that the community is going to die is an early warning to them to do something.

People need to stop complaining and calling perks ot items or how someone plays " toxic " it's ridiculous.4

Altho I just read this mori spam definition . Yeah that's bad. I had never seen that. But easy fix. Have it be like decisive strike . If they stop, they lose it.1

Im not sure what you mean here. There isn't a perk that will alert people to the killer outside of things like sole survivor, kindred, premonition etc. But thats not really relevant to toxic behavior.

I could elaborate more, but like you said, it's not relevant to the topic, so I won't press it. It just appeared in the video that Kindred showed the killer from a much further range than 8m.

maybe we should review bomb the game until they fix the toxicity.

Toxicity:
- The flashlight macro spamming and tea bagging.
- The pallet sandbagging and just overall player sandbagging.
- The hook save animation cancels.
- Survivors pointing giving away players positions.
- Survivors opening lockers to give away player positions intentionally.
- The alert spamming to either give away player position or just to annoy the killer.
- Mori animation spamming so the survivor can't move or die.
- Killer camping and head nodding spam (camping is its own type of BS but lets just add it to the category)
- (sometimes) Tunneling - depends on what you view is tunneling.
Non-Toxic:
- Legit pallet looping.
- Flash lighting while pallet is being broken.
- Flash lighting while killer is vaulting.
- Flash light saving.
- Blood lusting pallet loops.
- Having certain perks like DS, Object of Obsession, NOED, etc.
- (sometimes) Tunneling (killers. I.E. Freddy, need to do some tunneling late game just to secure 1 or 2 kills)
It's not really to separate what is toxicity and what isn't. I just think the devs are to lazy to do much of anything about it considering there is already SO MUCH toxic behavior in the game and community. You can argue that the troll section of the report feature in game is for toxic people but it truly doesn't cover all the bases that is toxicity and nothing ever really gets done about the players. The whole recent thing that TrU3 just put out on his channel, those players literally griefing and trolling him ON VIDEO won't get any type of punishment. I'd be so surprised if the devs actually did something about those players but the sad reality is they really don't care to much to look into it. I think the devs truly just need a sit down with themselves and re-evaluate the whole report feature in game and find a way to make this community less toxic. It's behavior is like a TV show. Completely laughable but disgusting to watch at the same time.

The problem is lots of people report tactics they can't beat as toxic. Even if it's something like camping or close patrolling the one person you've hooked with the doors open and you know they're not leaving. Also, I understand getting tunnelled when the game going south for the killer badly is their safest bet to get points if the game is a stomping.
It's a tricky thing. But stuff like Mori spam or the recent cancelling unhooking someone just to grief them? All I can suggest is record your games with OBS just to be sure. Even if you delete the recordings if nothing bad happened. If something bad happens? Show it as evidence.

I mean some of the annoying things that are done could easily be solved from a technical perspective, not allowing moris to be canceled in the first place for example. and the clicky thing with the flashlights could maybe be changed as well, no blinding unless the beam hits the right spot for a certain amount of time without interruptions.

Camping and tunnelling is not toxic. If it would, gen rushing would be too.
Both are tactics that are so good, other side hates them.2 -

The other streamer in the Truetalent video are talking about intentionally GRIEFING the other survivor (True) who is not in their SWF team just because they lost against him as killer the match before.
How much more proof for GRIEFING is needed to get banned?4 -

Tbagging and looping are in the game but mori spamming is toxic.

Toxicity (max 2500 BPs) should be rewarded:
- teabagging after a killer-stun/escape/blindness/etc gain more BP
- distance-based voice to killer enabled, the more swearing and high-shouting gain more BP
- when a killer got teabagged x times or shouted at, the surv gets Exposed status and +x BPs
tunneling and camping are not toxic, is just a decision/strategy you choose to sacrify a single surv and let the rest of survs (possibly) doing gens
But I stop dreaming... I wish I could run a toxicity-based DBD clone~

You know whats so sad, I actually started playing this game seriously last month to get away from Overwatch & Dead or Alive (the two MOST toxic games i've ever came across with the worst communities) and it took for me to play this game for 1 week to realize how bad it is from BOTH sides, not just one. Its terrible that a bunch of troll-minded, child-like adults can make such fun & exciting games so bad. I'll never escape toxicity.4

The developer has issued a silent statement.
They don't care.
They have done next to nothing to address toxic behavior outside of placing it on the roadmap and making a few comments during their Q&A.. They have done nothing to upgrade their EAC. The amount of cheating at higher ranks is beyond stupid at this point. Survivor speed hacks are just hilarious. Literally, my last game i had a Hillbilly run through walls. I alone have probably sent at the very least 20 video links to the dev in the last 6 months. Not a thing has been done. My blocklist is literally full of people who have either cheated and ive vid captured proof, or insanely toxic players(from both sides mind you). I have yet to see any of them get banned for rule breaking. Which tells me flat out that the dev doesn't care. Notice they won't name the "team they hired to look at reports". I seriously doubt there is one. I'd gladly intern, but shocker, you can't even apply.
When I first started, one of the people I played with warned me that this game is absolute hell when it comes to playing Solo and/or at high ranks. I had no clue how serious they were.
I havent even addressed toxic behavior, like mori spamming or holding the game hostage. 4man slugging and afking while everyone bleeds out. None of which will get you punished. Then you have kids who play this game... Like the dev said. Play something else. Honestly, i'll never ever promote DBD by buying their bundles and giving them away for free. The developer seriously needs a wake up call. Their game is good, but until they address major issues, its going to be nothing but a possibility.

So basically All killers are guilty and evil. OK
Read the whole statement unless youre one of those TLDR kids.
Toxic survivors AND killers are ruining the game. Try to read next time before replying. Thanks.4 -

Maybe. Doesn't excuse them giving the finger to their playerbase the way they have.

The devs don't need to address any of this. They're busy actually working on the thing everyone is posting about here daily. This is a problem with the players, not the game. Could changes to the game improve some of it? Sure, I'd bet some fixes to these are already underway--but they're trying to find new ways for people to have fun, instead of new things to whine about.1

would be nice if a mod could join this and clarify if this is even a bannable thing. tru3talent got "only" bodyblocked for like 20 seconds and didnt get unhooked, i dont think u can ban someone for that. or most of the community needs to get banned.

They followed him to do that #########.
And the interrupted unhooking is what they called "massage" to mock someone.
All of that only because they are salty survivor who made crap up about getting camped and tunneled in the previous match.
That's a pretty typical example of the survivor mains in this community. Calling everything camping or tunneling, just because they lost.3 -

This is the easy anti-cheat Whitelist for DBD - see that application "Curse-Voice" that's a voice client that has been whitelisted for use in DBD.
Please, lets have this conversation where you think Discord is breaking the TOS because it's a "Third Party Program".
You know what else is a third party program that isn't listen in the TOS? Steam, you know another 3RD party program that isn't listed in the TOS? My audio application that supplies audio to my headphones, I guess having audio is cheating too because it's not in the TOS.1 -

I think it's hilarious people find T-Bagging "Toxic". It's absolutely hilarious - it's been around for decades, but apparently this murder simulators fan base is too sensitive to some pixels moving up and down.
Also, camping isn't toxic, neither is "tunneling" - It's part of the game, get over it, you're supposed to kill people. Unless you're going into the same match one after the other and targeting the same person then you can get screwed.
You all seriously need to look at what this game and get off your snowflake rides, it's a murder simulator, if a "Get good" or "EZ" in end game chat gets you so riled up you report them then you need to move onto Barbie World.
If getting tunneled in a match is enough for you to get so riled up you report them then again, you need to move onto Barbie World.
Both. Sides. Are. "Toxic".
If someone is continually targeting you, and harassing you after the match THAT IS TOXIC.
Theres obvious gameplay things that are toxic, mori spam, unhook spam animation, all sorts of ######### but tbagging, gg ez, camping & tunneling are so far from toxic.
