Staying Healthy

My friends and I are finding that the new patch makes staying healthy more important, in case you're caught in a "dead" zone, so you can tank a hit and get to a structure.

Is anyone else finding that healing is more important since the update?

I have noticed a slightly increased amount of altruism since the update, so maybe other people are thinking the same thing!

There definitely seems to be more opportunities / necessity for it now.

Can't say for sure, as usual as a red rank I have always been matched with rank 10+ survivors (and some rank 4) who, the second they get hit or get unhooked, go to a corner and self care no matter what. So yeah, I don't think its as big of a difference as you think for majority of the people.

Please heal. As a Legion main, I enjoy chaining Frenzy it's no fun when everyone stays injured and rushes gens

I feel naked if I don't have Inner Strength or at least Iron Will.

I'm with you on that one.

Even prior to this patch I always found the need to stay healthy.

I never understood the "don't heal, it's a waste of time," well, looping the killer after hitting me once is also wasting his time.

I've always found it to be important, personally. As long as the time it takes you to get hit is longer than the time it took to heal, you'll be net positive in the end.

How are you enjoying the new patch btw? Do you like it?

I haven't found the need to heal that much with the recent patch. My play style is still the same lol.

Depends what Killer it is. For example, if a Hillbilly catches me in a deadzone, I'm dead regardless of if I'm injured or not.

I'd say stealth has become more important than healing. You want to avoid being found in the first place since you'll have nothing to run to.

I think it's a bit too much with the dead zones (I HATE Sprint Burst). Sometimes there is only one medium safe pallet in a corner but 2 gens around. Once that one pallet is gone there is nothing at all (not even windows) in over 40m. How is this supposed to work? It feels like there's only 6-8 pallets on the changed maps now. And with all the "Stun the Killer X times" or "Drop X pallets while in a chase" Challenges, the pallets are getting wasted.

Yes I could use Self Care or a med-kit, but meh. With all that Sloppy Butcher and Thana (and Legion) around... no thanks. There is better use to my time elsewhere.

Yes I could use SB, but why am I supposed to bring a Perk to have a chance in those dead zones?

Yes I could use stealthy Survivors (*ahem Blendette *ahem) or Urban etc (I use Iron Will btw...), but I don't want to play like this.

I want to play how I like and not get ######### in a dead zone because a mate just wasted/used the single one pallet in a 40m radius!

I'm with Peanits on this. Focus on planning and efficiency. Do new maps make it more efficient to heal? Nope, the reduced strength of long loops means less chase time per health state even though the increased amount of space between tiles means that your chases with only 1 health state will end quicker than usual. Put simply, Healing is simultaneously more valuable and less valuable in the newest update.
