So a quicky "poll"
So according to the group I just had, I am in the wrong on this, but I feel like they're all just frigging numb, so I'll toss my options for you all on the forums instead to either prove them or me right/wrong.
If the Killer has JUST hooked a Survivor for their first time, and they are spamming hook pull-ups repeatedly, does that mean
A:) Everything's fine, come on over.
or
B:) I'm being camped you dumbass STOP COMING TO RESCUE ME WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!
See according to them, hook pull-ups is not a universal sign of B. I kinda feel like it HAS been for the years I've been playing though.
Your all thoughts?

I use Kindred on all my survivors so I never really have to guess, but otherwise I figure waving hands means they’re being camped.

I ignore hook gymnastic's because it means something different every time.

Wait this means something?
Is this why I sometimes go into stage 2 in first hook?

I always thought it meant I'm being camped, do gennys.
I guess some people do it differently.
I ran kindred and swf as well, and I always do it when being camped, just to make the killer think i don't have kindred.

I always figured people do it because they are bored

It will never be a universal sign if 100% of all players don't agree on it.
I for one will start swinging my arms up and down if all 3 of my team mates are working on gens and they wont come to get me. I'll try to refrain from doing it really early because I'm not that impatient, but when I'm starting to approach stage 2 and literally nobody moves (which is more often than you'd think) I just start swinging em cus it's the only way I can act frantic.

I have played DbD for 2 and a half years and it has always meant "I am being camped, don't come over here".

If I am working on a gen and see you swinging your arms, I am going to let you die. I will assume there is a killer standing behind you and you are warning the rest away.

Very least I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that this is/was generally the signal for "Killer camping. Stay away."
I wonder what happened that changed this from being globally known?

Now I use it as "come and save me" but I'd probably use kindred as solo survivor.

For me it's always meant danger. Like if I'm doing pull-ups right off it means camping. If we're facing a Trapper or a Hag and someone's on approach I'll do pull-ups when they get close to signal there's a trap nearby if I saw/heard them set one.
Honestly I've never seen it meant for "All clear."

Spoken like a Steve.

And again a reminder, to get that meaning back into the game, pls. So we get a bit more communication for solos!
1) Flapping means, killer is near (sometimes hard flapping means facecamping)
2) No movement means, all quiet
3) I like to do 95% of the animation to say "need to kobe, cuz noone is coming to save me. pls help"
1) should be at least common, I would like to get all 3 common again

It doesn't mean a darn thing. I find most people do it for amusement while waiting to be saved.

Agreed

Yes, and while people complain how bad solo games are, this shouldnt be a thing

It means "killer is camping".
1 -
It means I'm being camped or the killer has insidious or the killer is standing really close.
Also a single flip of the arms means come and get me because no one is heading this way (aka put down the self-heal nonsense).

There are so many different reasons why people doing this. Back then it meant "Killer is camping, do gens" But you can't trust it anymore. Just ignore it or run Kindred. Running Kindred is probably the best advice overall ;) Dodging mistakes so you don't need perks like unbreakable

I usually just do it because hanging on a hook is boring. Or if I get annoyed no one at all is coming for me.

Whenever i'm near a hooked Survivor, i usually immediately hear them go HUEEE, HERRR, HARAA!
Y'know, the self-unhook noises.
I'd say it's still a good indicator, though i almost never camp, so they just did it cause i was passing by.

Originally it was B. Then newbies thought it was A, they got mixed and now it means nothing. You're better off running Kindred if you need others to have that kind of info.
