This is just my opinion. I personally don't think that Candyman will fit into the dead by daylight. He looks like Captain Hook from Peter Pan.

on a legitimate note: I think between him, Jason and Pennywise they're the most requested killers. Although Scott Jund said it wouldn't be Candyman he also said he's not a reliable source. I personally believe there's a strong chance it could be Candyman but there's other possibilities.

I disregarded his opinion initially as I grit my teeth when I hear someone say "oh this won't happen because I've seen so". Especially when there's no proof.

Also with how trending Stranger Things was last year, I'd say Demogorgon fits into the notion of a classic killer.

The show was set in the 80's so...

It's going to be Candyman.

The original dates for the new film, and E3 (where DBD was to attend), were at the same date as the planned chapter release. Tony Todd, the actor who plays Candyman, has been teasing a crossover since early March.

And now we have a Behaviour employee who just tweeted this:

I don't really hate the idea of Candyman, I would just rather have Chucky running around the map, with his laughter sending chills down my spine. I'd also love hearing the pitter patter of his feet while he runs.

I just hope if it is Candyman, they give him an interesting power and he doesn't become boring to go against like Freddy.

It would be interesting to actually have a licenced killer from a different media. Movies and TV are in, but to also reach into other video games; creepypastas; scp; artwork; theatre could offer so much in the way of expanding the game.

I don't know much about Candyman, so I'm fine regardless, but sourcing into all sorts of media would really open up a world of opportunity.

What makes you so sure there will be a next chapter? From the text I've read, Matheiu Cote was quoted as saying "this last chapter" not this next chapter.. I have a feeling it's all balance patches from here on out until a dbd 2 maybe. And I mean come on, how much more can they do with killers in this design model? So many factors to balance, so many perks that accidentally have synergy in unexpected ways, all the spaghetti code... I think I'd be just about done after Candyman, if that's in fact what were getting here (all evidence points to yes)

As a humongous fan of SH, that wouldn't make a lick of sense. The whole thing about pyramid head is he is a manifestation of Henry's guilt over the murder of his wife. It is judgements slow, unmerciful arrival in flesh coming for him. The reason it was so beloved as an icon of video he horror is that it could have literally been anything, but the form was conceved in Henry's mind -

when the movie threw pyramid head in the movie with no proper context, it was pure fan service, which not everyone hated, but it put a bad taste in most mouths as it betrayed the very ideas and concepts behind silent hill. It was always about the psychological horror, the gear builing with your imagination... Also it was fun for people to attempt to decider the meaning behind the manifestations in the players mind.

That being said, I don't think silent hill is a viable source for this game to extract from anyway. The series is all but dead (and at this point, should probably just stay that way), the company who owns it refuses to sell for whatever reason (not that I think anyone's looking to buy) and the creatures in the he aren't even human in the first place, it makes no sense from a lore standpoint. How would the entity torment an imagined creature?(part of the Jacobs later-esq horror of the series was realizing that this could all be in the players mind to begin with).

I mean I considered that, but that would be an absolutely strange way to phrase it. Why wouldn't he just say this "upcoming" chapter, or "next". I tend to put alot of emphasis on the word selection for a given context, so I assume most do, but I guess it could have been a slip - then again on these forums a few weeks ago, one of the headers read "if you ever had a question you wanted to ask the devs, now's your chance", and again, I don't see how they could go much further with creating new, viable killer interactions and gameplay.

But I'm willing to accept any evidence to the contrary!

I'm willing to believe guys, but based on the text and wording in several instances I must ask, is there anyone who can confirm 100% that this isn't the last chapter? Was a roadmap given, did the devs expressly say there will be more chapters, or did something else prove this to be true?

I'm just saying 16 is a well even number, this game has a smash Bros. Roster of killers already. 20 isn't a bad number either, I just wan a little confirm, not a big one.

But understood, you don't that evidence yourself. Does anyone else have any sort of confirmation? Legitimate question, not trying to argue semantics.

I'd love to see pinhead, but I know candyman is more likely. I think the problem with candyman is that a lot of his terror and iconicness comes from him speaking, which the killers in dbd don't do.

Personally, I'd love to see an Alan wake chapter come to dbd. Darkness shrouded killer that gets burned by light, and a survivor that carries a flashlight seems tailor made for dbd.
