Can I just say how proud I am of BHVR? And how excited I am for the future of DBD.

I've been playing DBD since around right before Leatherface was revealed, and have been watching the game even earlier before that. So while I'm not a super hardcore veteran, I've seen this game go through some stuff. To talk about my love for the game would be pointless I think, but in short, I love the soul of this game. Something that stuck out about DBD to me, is you can tell the devs give a damn about what they make. It might not be perfect, but it was so far out from all these trends any other multiplayer game these days falls under. It's like a labor of love.

For a while, I'd say right after spirit came out, I slightly dropped interest in the game for some reason. Nothing in particular, but there was some direction I wasn't a big fan of. And whenever something new and cool was added, I still enjoyed it, like the ST chapter and Deathslinger, I guess I kinda became complacent with the game? I wasn't a fan of killers like Oni and Plague being so video game-y meter charged up oriented compared to something simple like Deathslinger. And I wasn't a fan of what little horror aspect of the game there was being reduced to Myers, and maybe Spirit and GF. Cosmetics were flashy and didn't make sense. Some things felt straight up rushed imo. I don't think DBD was ever at a bad point, but like I said, it just lost the grip it used to have on me.

And then, with the 4th anniversary coming up, I finally had something to look forward to. What I thought was going to be my dream Hellraiser chapter, exceeded my expectations, and was actually my #1 ideal Silent Hill chapter. And not only that... It was good! That's up for debate, but imo, it feels balanced and fair and sensible and thematically in tone. They even went the extra mile and made all of the designs (PH) and easter eggs as authentic as possible. And not only that, but the game in its entirety looked to be heading in an amazing direction! The horror aspect of DBD, is coming back, and it looks AMAZING. And BHVR seems to be handling balance very tactfully now, rather than immediately cracking under pressure from a loud audience. The map design is getting better as well. And whatever ideas they have for an earlygame shakeup, I'm sure will be interesting. The list goes on and on.

Overall I really have to say, I'm just left in awe over all of this news for DBD. It's absolutely redeemed a lot for me, and I'm amazed by the devs, and especially Cote's, soul and direction during these hard and trying times. I guess a part of me just wanted to write this after seeing how much hate this has gotten over it not being Candyman or Pennywise or Voorhes. I think it's unfair to just ignore everything else mentioned about the future for the game, and to not realize how impressive it is BHVR has stayed standing with dignity and soul after 4 long years of the same game, and are seemingly going stronger than ever! I hope any devs read this in the midst of hate as a morale boost. And if you are, let me tell you, you guys are really something. Best of luck.

I feel the same man. I haven't been playing as long as you though, I play on console on the PS4 and I started playing if I remember right, it was not long after Piggy was released or maybe a bit before, it was years ago so my memory isn't the best lol. I've had my moments as well where I've taken a break but I have always still the the game in one way or another. The devs truly do care about the game and I can't wait to see what more they bring to us.

I've played quite a bit of the PTB and I'm happy. The killer is actually fun to interact with as a survivor. Strong, but not OP/boring.

Thank you bhvr, the game is going in a good direction, a good change to the clown was made, and the crossplay news is great! The crossprogression is for me the best thing though! Keep going in this direction, it's great!

Hey I also would like to say "thank you BHVR, but also spirit is no-skill"

Thanks BHVR. This game is great. Also, spirit requires 0 skill.

I couldn't agree more. I think the DBD team at behavior has done a fantastic job and have created something of a cult classic. I love the ever evolving nature of this game and seeing so many people volunteering their time and energy to passionately advise the team on their experience.

    Also... DBD in VR when?

This game is indeed amazing! The upcoming year looks like it will be DBD's best yet. Now if they add Candyman, Chucky, Alien, Pinhead, and Samara/Sadako this will become my most favourite game of all time. 😀
