Whats your guys thoughts on "the grind"

With another killer and survivor coming out soon (which phs perks are another in a long series of perks not even worth the bloodpoints) whats your guys thoughts on the grind now? After 2.5 years im finally almost done with all the survivors and killers and i honestly dont use even half of the perks. Its disheartening when i try to get someone into the game and they learn all the work they have to do. I understand we dont want everyone running around with the best perks but most people go right for like ds unbreakable and stuff anyway leaving other characters like quentin (literally i got no benefit from leveling Quentin really) thats just my thoughts what about you guys?

I mean I just play every killer with bbq and a survivor pudding and get 90k bps every game to I can cap the bps about every 10 games or so.

Yeah the grind is pretty awful. They need to do something.

Even though I've been playing since ps4 release 2017, I have got a single p3 with all perks. I went through a phase of just not bothering with prestige. I've started doing it now however.

I'm glad it keeps getting brought up honestly. Something needs to be done, because as a new player, it's intimidating. The math from "The Massive Grind" thread by DelsKibara says a lot. I'd link it but the forums have been odd about quotes and links lately. Anyway, I've played Korean MMOs that take less time to reach end game, and those games are notoriously nothing but 90% grind. Here's hoping BHVR listens, as it will only get worse with each new chapter.

Beyond ridiculous for a new player and unnecessary for this type of game. A 300 hour investment to unlock all perks in 2020 is asinine

The grind is absolutely atrociously bad and it only gets worse with each new chapter. Something needs to happen ASAP.

New players have to put a ridiculous amount of time in the game to get all the perks and veterans are just scraping by with a low amount of items/add-ons.

It sucks cause I'll have my days where I need to grind add ons and perks for Killers rather than work on the one I want to, I wish getting add ons weren't such a grind fest but that's why I like the Killers who have yellow addons as their most viable ones.

it gives me something to do.

and the devs do introduce more ways to earn BPs, which helps fighting it massively. the tomes for example are a great way to get hundrets of thousands of additional BPs, just by playing the game.

though when they plan on keeping the amount of new content up, they need to introduce more such ways to get more BPs, as otherwise the grind would get out of hand - a new daily ritual system for example would be great!

currently i get roughly 2 killers maxed out before the next one drops. that means i can max out the newcomer aswell as one of the old ones i missed - plus ofc getting the newcomers perks on all the other characters i have maxed out (with Pyramid Head that'd be everyone but Nurse, Hag and Pig)

that requires a lot of time, so increasing the number of characters (therefore increasing the grind) would certainly be a problem we will have to face sooner or later.

especially if you were also aiming at maxing out every survivor - something im not interested in myself, but which is definitely something others will want to do.

The grind is the ultimate nightmare for newer players. Your first 300 hours is just a desperate attempt to get on even slightly even ground with your opponents.

I have 6 p3-50 killers that I keep "topped off" on perks. When I see a new one I want in the weekly store I use shards to just buy it then unlock it for each of them. Feels more low maintenance that way.

For survivors I have 3-5 that are level 40 to unlock their stuff and I've bought perks with shards. I have 1 p3-50 survivor that I use and that is it.

For a survivor, it's not that bad. Leveling up Bill starts you with Unbreakable and Borrowed Time (and even Left Behind for more chance at survival, although it's not that good), and then if you go to Meg you will quickly have a near meta build with options for Adrenaline, Sprint Burst, Quick & Quiet, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, Kindred. So now that you have an awesome set up, you can just play normally and watch your BP accumulate until you want to get Bond and Iron Will. No DLC necessary

For Killer? Oh man. You do get a lot more BP, but so many killer perks are behind a DLC wall, so to get an optimal set up you need to buy and unlock a perk or two from like 3-5 different killers. For some reason a lot of killers have 1 good perk and 2 trash perks.

BBQ and Chili - necessary and DLC. Pop Goes the Weasel - top tier and DLC. Hex: Ruin - top tier and DLC, etc. etc. etc. So instead of just leveling 1 character and teaching those perks, you've got to level multiple.

I'd like it if it was reduced some more. Maybe introduce the potential to get multiple perks in a single bloodweb earlier than it currently is.

Actually, i dont even know what to spend my bloodpoints on. In my survivor games, i usually get between 18 and 26k bp. I have 4 survivors prestiged (because i had the spare points) and all 4 have all perks. Then i leveld the killers with my survivor points, and they have all the perks.

I dont think the grind is that bad if you see the bloodweb as an easy tactic game and chose what to pick.

It's a disaster. The grind needs to be substantially recalibrated so that it stops putting new players off of the game. All these "it's fine / it's not that bad" vets out there are incapable of stepping outside of their own experience and looking at it objectively, from the perspective of someone who isn't knee-deep already.

I always unlock new teachables, but I don't know why I bother. The perks I use most often are old. I like to experiment with the new perks. Though, I usually find they do not suit my needs or playstyle. I only level the new characters out of completion's sake. As for prestiging characters, I've mostly given up on that. The prestige grind is not worth it. I have several characters prestiged on both sides. I don't see the need to prestige the ones I rarely play. I'll unlock Cheryl's and Pyramidhead's teachables, but I don't see myself prestiging them.

@Rydog Yeah that why i have a hard time telling others to pick up the game. If you want to try and do more than one or two builds. You are going have to spend millions upon millions of blood points, just to earn all of that. That or hey, want to unlock some new perks to try out and play around with? Spend a million or so blood points to unlock them, than spend even more to get it on a character of your choice. Along with possibly having to deal with perks in your blood web, you are simply not interested in but will show up anyway, just so rng can make you take even longer to get said perks and spend even more blood points, trying to get them.

It only really sucks for super new players.
