BHVR, you need to think through some of these challenges.
As the title says, devs, you need to really, really think through, properly, some of these challenges. Legitimately - you guys tend to feed into, and stoke the fire of toxicity of this community when you create some of your challenges. There's many examples, but the one (or rather, 2) I'll give an example of because it's probably the best example, is that Dwight challenge. Don't get me wrong, I finished it within 2 tries on "The Game", but being within 10m of the killer without being caught for 60 seconds? Are you guys insane creating a challenge like that (it's duplicated with the additional condition of escaping in Level 4 of the tome, btw)? No offense, but that idea COMPLETELY SUCKED.
You may as well call the challenge "Be a useless team mate and go out of your way to do nothing while literally hiding up the killers rectal cavity all round".
Again, think these things through. You guys come up with all kinds of reasons to punish toxicity, but then you keep stoking the fire. Honestly, it seems like you're trolling sometimes.

that Dwight challenge is a real pain. and from what i've heard a lot of people only get it done because a killer camped someone else, which is exactly how i got it. i hated being useless for a whole minute (and likely longer because theres no way to tell in game) but i wanted the BP and rift fragments. it didnt feel good or fun to do, or even rewarding since i just got lucky to have a camping killer.

Yeah, it's just dumb.

this has been a common complaint since Rift #1
like, oh man, cleanse 20 totems oh man what a fun and interactive challenge!
3 -
I don't know why people complain about "Dwight the brave"... if you have completed the challenge in a second try...
It is fine. It is challenging, requires some luck and good map, like The Game, but you can complete it.
Remember this?

Okay... now I know another person, who presumably complains about noed in the post game chat.
IMHO, looking and cleansing bones is fun sometimes. Small Game (or sometimes Map) is a part of my regular build.
Oh yes, as a killer, I could complain that this challenge ruined my hex totem build, where I have 3 hex perks and bbq.
Gen rush is bad. Search chests, cleanse tots, sabo hooks!

This one was doable in a duo SWF, and you're not being useless while doing the challenge.
Dwight the Brave on the other hand ends up screwing the entire survivor team over.

Not like there are many different challenges they can come up with that are the fun and quirky things ya'll are looking for.
Most of the challenges are things you would normally do in a game. Now everyone is trying to do them at the same time. I have never liked Battle Passes for this reason. It sorta ruins things for a time, which is annoying.
See the problem?

Yeah, you're right, at level 4 there will be exactly the same challenge, but with one additional condition. You need to escape. The funny thing is that the gate, because the hatch does not count.

At least that challenge doesn't force you to be a dick of a teammate. I actually managed to do that first try. Just run bond and play an offering for The Game.
The reason the Dwight challenge is worse is because in ADDITION to having to literally be in the killers anus for 60 seconds, you also have to be doing literally nothing for your team.
I think if you asked the community at large, they would come up with some MUCH more realistic and not toxicity endorsing challenges.

Not really. Challenges like this add some fun ######### to the game. I am glad I have joined this game in the late 2019 when they added first rift. I don't know how all those dbd veterans lived all those years without challenges. And this is not like all doing same challenge at once, people have different progression speed. Some want to do surv challenges fast, others will do killa challenges first and then switch to surv. And this "inconvenience" won't last long, 2 weeks max.

Don't forget "pull a survivor from a locker using Iron Maiden".
THAT'S LITERALLY THE OPPOSITE OF HOW I'M SUPPOSED TO USE THE DAMN PERK BHVR

I can be a dick of a teammate without any challenges!

RIGHT!? Like, ZERO thought goes into some of these. Imagine requiring a perk to be equipped and having to deliberately not take advantage of it in order to complete the challenge MADE for it.
Honestly, they should really get the Fog Whisperers in on the challenges. At least they play the game on a consistent basis, and I feel like people like Otz, Tofu, Cahla and Tru3 would probably have solid ideas for challenges.

Why the hell do we keep getting grab challenges when grabs are broken?! Every Tome has given us at least one grab challenge. Grabbing two Survivors off gens with Discordance in a single game doesn't sound that bad, but then you remember that grabs barely work. Level 4 has a challenge that wants you to grab six Survivors (not all in one game). It would be very simple if grabs actually worked. I think the Archive team either really likes grabs for some reason, has access to a build where grabs are perfect, or don't play enough to realize how broken grabs are. Those are the only possible explanations for why we keep getting challenges that revolve around a broken game mechanic.

I don’t like some of the „cheap“-challenges for example cleans 20 totems or start chases with 12 different survivors... these challenges are very simple but you have to play a lot of games to finish them and the reward is just 30k bp and 3 fragments. Sure you can finish them only by playing but you have to play some matches until you can go to the next challenge.
I would like to see that we can choose which challenges we like to do first and maybe the rift is finished if you have done 10 challenges... so we could do 1-match-challenges first and later the challenges which needs more time.

DBD Veteran here.
Don't know how we lived all those years without the challenges? You just kinda did. The game was the challenge, at least back in the day. Mostly for killer.
I was fine without them, it's fine if ya'll want to run around and do them. However, I personally dislike Battle Passes in general. Not exclusive to DBD.
Just don't like them.

Agreed. Some of the challenges are just silly.
It's almost as if BHVR are looking at original types of challenges with each passing Tome, kind of like bringing out a new perk: it doesn't work well, but it's something different.
I just left the silver/gold emblem and unhooking/hooking challenges to do as 'simply play the game' dailies.
There's a difference between making an interesting, novel, fun challenge and having something completely frustrating.

Challenges are killing the game. So many players are playing so selfishly and dumb just to do challenges.

Even though I've got Platinum, I'm still got one trophy remaining: Taking One For The Team.
This is another challenge/achievement/trophy which promotes reckless behaviour. To my credit, I'm using Borrowed Time. But because I'm striving towards it, I'm putting myself in some hairy situations.
I had two games last night, and on both occasions I ate my first hook...and the other survivors, without any hook camping or threat, ran around doing gens, totems etc. One was blatantly doing the touch 5 gens for one min challenge. I died after being hooker once, two matches in a row, as my teammates ran around doing silly crap. I expect this is attributed to challenges too.

All the issues could be solved easily if the battlepass didn't have an expiration date, then players wouldn't be incentivized to grind the challenges as quickly as possible, potentially even on characters they would not normally play and thus don't even have good perks on. The developers would make slightly less money in this case though, so obviously that is completely unacceptable.

Yup, all about the money.

In what world is holding M1 even more with 0 killer interaction; over the course of 5 games MINIMUM for 3 rift shards fun
this is after doing the exact same challenge once before but for 12 totems
lol

Yeah, some of these challenges are dumb.
"Grab 2 survivors in a single match using discordance" I farmed. I'm not gonna play 20 matches for this.
"Grab one survivor using iron maiden" Farmed.
The Dwight challenge is dumb too, but i managed to complete this first try easily by following the killer on 3 hooks without getting caught and throwing the game while using urban evasion and fixated.

I've been working my way thru that one currently and it absolutely sucks. Either I go around searching for totems and rely on my teammates to rescue and do gens, or I play the game properly and get 1 or 2 totems a match. Will be so glad when that challenge is done!
Not to mention, the rewards in the free rift are pretty much scarce and crappy. Aside from the extra BPs, there's not much incentive for me to do the archive challenges anyway.

Yeah I farmed for those first two. I'm not going to spend ages playing (and waiting in lobbies) only to be glitched out.
