Cages should count as hooks
I'm sure most people (including me) are fine with the cages aside from the fact that they don't count as hooks when it comes to perks (They still count as hooks for killer's emblems and moris, even though moris' descriptions say that you have to hook the survivor first to kill them).
Some people say that it's bad for both sides, because it doesn't work for stuff like Pop, BBQ, Dying Light, Devour Hope. That's true, but when you're playing the Executioner, you know exactly that you won't be able to use those perks as much if you decide to send people to cages, so you can just use different perks. Meanwhile survivors have no idea who they're gonna be playing against. There are currently 20 killers in the game.
Perks like DS and Borrowed Time are pretty much the only way to deal with tunneling and camping, They were introduced in these shapes and forms to combat those strategies. Unfortunatelly, cages are just a step back to 2016, except that nowadays one survivor can't really be chased for 5 gens against a competent killer.
I just think it promotes a very anti-fun gameplay. Devs always wanted to discourage poeple from camping and going for the same survivor over and over again, so that's why they added stuff like Devour Hope, Dying Light, Make Your Choice, BBQ, DS, BT, Emblem punishment for camping etc.
I know a lot of people argue that sometimes you get D-Striked even if you don't tunnel, but I'm sure there's a better way to deal with this problem than having only one killer that almost completely negates the perk. Hooks are the core gameplay of the game, so I really hope devs are gonna make cages count as hooks when it comes to perks. I'm 100% sure cages would still serve a purpose for good P-Head players. You can tell me what you think.

If the cages counted as hooks they would need to give ph something big in return..no perk should be as absolute as ds and bt are

Thank you survivors are just scared they will have to learn to play without crutches.

The problem is the Killer faces 16 perks.
That is four times more perks than what the survivors have to find out.

Ds was made as an anti tunnel perk but that's not how it's played. I disagree that cages should be the same as hooks because then that gets rid of what makes him unique and powerful. He is only 1 out of 20 killers, you should not be able to bully all killers the same. If you can't fight against one killer out of the rest, then that's something you have to take into account for yourself. Maybe stop relying on the same second chance perks and learn to play different killers differently.
