The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

The new map is AWFUL for killer

Why do the devs keep making really unbalanced maps?

The new map has TONS of god pallets, you HAVE to destroy them in order to catch a survivor.

Gens are spread out like crazy, you can't patrol them, they are in other buildings, on other floors and the entire map is just a maze. Survivors spreading out make it so easy to win as them.

There's windows that are really strong and easy to use.

I'm just speechless, I don't know who thought this map was good balance-wise.

As a survivor i don't like it either if that helps. The heart beat of the killer is almost always heard. is like the game stage but much worse.

Any map with more than 1 god pallets is OP. And the school has 3 to 4 all the time. It's stupid.

This map is good for some killers though. I've personally enjoyed it playing Pig. Hags and Trappers have said good things. I imagine Michael would have a good time with it due to long halls. Plenty of places for Ghost Face to hide.

I also like it as a survivor though, but I do need time to learn it like I did all the other maps.

a pallet that is completely unmindgameable basically, you have to break it or else it will become an infinite

besides the 2 pallets that block access to the staircases, every other pallet in the map is extremely unsafe to play around.

This map is godlike for any killer that benefits from tight corridors or corners, e.g. Pyramid Head and Huntress. I legit have gotten 4k every time (with occassional hatch) at red ranks. I even got one with Clown. This is straightup the best map in the game for clown because:

    roofs everywhere to throw bottles

every loop is short so the bottle covers the whole loop

almost every room is a corner, so they literally cannot escape the bottle

the corridors are tight and long making it extremely easy to land bottles

The map is fine for both sides i think.

The only way it could be a problem is a SWF squad with object.

The map is pretty amazing for killer. Survivors waste a lot of time finding generators and hooked teammates which is a complete time waster. Most pallets are unsafe. Navigating as killer can be pretty difficult but at least you know where gens are so you can patrol them.

    This is RNG dependent. I was counting powerful pallets on the map on both sides and not counting the guaranteed strongish clock tower ones;

I have counted between 0-4 randomly spawning god pallets(You just have to take them there is no way around them) and around 2-8 strong safe pallets(more dependent on how the rest of the room spawns rather then the pallet itself sense other pieces I have noticed can spawn attacked to the pallet).

It can be either:Both 4 god pallets and 8 strong safe pallets can on the map

    or

0 god pallets spawn and only 2 strong pallet spawns on the map.

So the map either spawn with no good pallets or LOTS of them with a large if not the largest variance in how many/how strong they spawn.

You consider the Pallets at the Clock Tower strong? The Clock Tower is a Deathtrap.

I've had success in new map with Billy, Spirit, Clown and PH. Take this with a grain of salt though because it could just be because survivors didn't know the map.

eh the clock tower double pallets can waste a lot of time if the killer misplays them but against any good killer they are a mildly strong ones.

Balanced landing into running to the clock tower's double will force the killer to break one and try to out mind game the other or just break both(Usually the former sense its so small its hard to mind game).

They are a Deathtrap. The Survivor will not get away without taking a Hit if one of those gets broken. Of course, if the Killer is bad, they will suffer on those Pallets, but if you consider the Killer being bad, then the Map is full of strong Pallets, this is correct...

Tons of god pallets? My guy there’s like 4 good pallets on the entire ######### map. Every other pallet is unsafe

If throwing the force spawned 2 pallets let the survivor get away then it has served its purpose of stalling the killer and much like any other loop with a broken pallet it isn't wise to reuse.

I think you overestimate the safety of Midwich Pallets A LOT. They are not Hawkins-Level, more like Badham. Which makes them perfect playable as Killer.

  • Warcrafter4

and I think that was the point is its a clear attempt to make a "Fair" double pallet instead of making it auto win for the survivor.

I consider these 2 pallets like haunted grounds: Once one is gone the effect of the other goes away as well.

Also looking back at it I think i misconstrued the power of the tower as I meant it to be strong but not a god pallet spawn. I meant in the original that its one of the few usable guaranteed spawns on the map unlike everything else which has wide variance.

Forget the pallets... the totem spawns are atrocious for locating... but killers running NOED will say “jUsT dO aLL tHe tOtEMs”

    This.

Most pallets are unsafe and there are a lot of dead ends. Getting chased sucks on this map.

Gens are too spread out and there isn't enough stairs to get up top. Getting pressure on this map sucks.

This map is bad for everyone. I hate it.

    Personally I dislike the map.

It looks really nice and pays homage to silent hill really well I just find it very boring to play on. Its like a mix of Haddonfield with those long fences and Hawkins with the less mind gameable pallets.

I like to feel like I outplay the other side and not just be granted a hit.

The corridors are too long and need more breaks into the center area along with more places on the second floor to drop down.

I hope they make some changes to it soon.

I agree. I've played on the map about 4 or 5 times, and every time, it felt like the survivors already had the layout memorized. The first time was less than an hour after it dropped, and I play on Xbox.

    Thing is:

If someone thinks that Map is Survivor-sided, they should just try out Freddy. Even without spamming Snares, it shows how painful it is for Survivors.

The main problem for Killer is to navigate the Map. There is a Gen upstairs, the Killer knows that this is the Spot where a Survivor is. Yet, they cannot do anything about it, because they need to go to the Stairs which can be a full hallway away and then need to go the full hallway back to get to the Gen. But Freddy ignores it, Gen above you? Just teleport.

And then it is pretty clear why this Map is also not good for Survivor. Taking the main problem away from the Killer (by simply teleporting) shows that Survivors struggle to get ######### done.

For me personally, I mostly dislike the "randomness" of this Map. "randomness", because the Hallways have nothing to work with and as Survivor I have to hope that there is still a (unsafe) Pallet in the Room I am about to enter.

I guess with a few more safe Pallets in the Rooms and more ways to get up and down on the Map (like, one or two more Stairs (without breakable Walls) and one or two Drops) and more access to the middle area (4 instead of 2 access points) it could be quite a good Map.

I actually have 4k almost every time with this map as the new killer.

Yes this map sucks if you play Killers like wraith of the pig.

There are some breakable walls that are very handy destroyed. The map is more finding and remembering every room.

I prefer this map over all the farm maps and haddonfield

what about the maps that side with killers, like the game, and the nurses map?
