Why do people want to bleed out?

Sometimes I watch a match to the end when Ive died. Alot of the time I see the last guy that has been downed purposefully hide in a corner to bleed out. Not looking for a hatch. Just bleeding out over getting hooked.

Im not sure what the point is. Do survivours get more BP for bleeding out? Have I been wrong in gettung hooked to end the match already?? 😞

They do it so that they have a better chance of wiggling out. If they look too far from a hook though I'll just leave them there to bleed out. If they wanted the game over they could crawl closer to a hook, so the choice is theirs.

I still think bleeding out and getting snacked by the Entity after EGC should count as a small „win“ for the survs as in giving them some BP and not the killer. they managed to outplay the killer and didn’t get caught but somehow the killer gets points for it? i am not here to gift the killer points, he can just equip deerstalker if they want to slug.. As a surv I should try to get away from the killer, that shouldn’t count as trolling or annoying the killer.

    The answer is simple.

To take power back from the killer and be able to say "I die on my own terms" in post game chat (sometimes)

Sorry, but you didn't outplay anyone. If you had, you wouldn't have bled out on the floor, you would've escaped instead.

To answer the OP, survivors think they're hurting you by denying you BP. In reality, they're only hurting themselves by letting themselves bleed out while you go make yourself a sandwich.

I am not a pro player, getting caught is something that happens and should happen in many matches. Otherwise matchmaking and/or game balance were not working properly.

getting slugged is something the killer has to decide actively, if he can’t find me again, he made a mistake, not me. Why should I crawl to the killer? That doesn’t make sense. Outplaying is obviously a wrong word for it. Maybe a better way to phrase it: the killer outplayed himself.

also lore-wise: the survivors should always have some hope, just letting themselves get sacrificed without any struggle doesn’t make sense

(if the killer played well I do let my self get sacrificed, and bleeding out is something I maybe experience once or twice a month, and that not while actively trying to hide while slugged but because the killer is not capable of finding me again)

Literally only one time I crawled and found the hatch with one other teammate while the other two died.

Just to stop the killer getting points

When I’ve done this it was to be spiteful.

Nobody said you should crawl to the killer, but letting yourself bleed out for 4 minutes (boring) when you could end it by making it easier for the killer to hook you (get to the next trial more quickly) is indeed your decision. IMO, you're just cutting off your nose to spite your face when you do that.

For me, I can say that bleed out is the best and the most peaceful way to die. Before the endgame collapse update, you know that there is no way to find and reach the hatch so I just hide somewhere that killer can not find me and peacefully bleed out to die. After the endgame collapse update, unless u see the hatch or hear the sounds that is unlikely u can escape with hatch. Well, if i cannot bleed out to die before entity kill me, i want killer hook me. I knew that is waste both time but that is peaceful. lol. Or maybe someone just trolling.

Best way to die Bleed out > hook > mori > end game collapse Worst way to die

have you actually tried that though? Crawling is so slow that it doesn’t even make a difference if you try to crawl to the killer or into a corner. Actually crawling into a corner just ups the chances of the killer finding you there instead of somewhere in the middle of the map.

but sure, there probably are many survs to do it to be spiteful, but whats the problem? Killers do stuff to be spiteful all the time. And in this case, they gave the surv the opportunity in the first place.

Yes, I have. I wouldn't be saying it otherwise.

I'm not saying there's a problem, I'm saying that, IMO, you're only hurting yourself.

I just think the killer that decided to slug but couldn’t find you again shouldn’t be as rewarded for it..

as i said, I am not doing it really and mostly i don’t even get to a situation in which I could.. but I do get why some do it without trying to be spiteful.
