Rework Torment System
Now, I'm gonna start off here and say I play Survivor Religiously, But I actually enjoy the challenges that are faced within the trials., However, I've been noticing a tactic thanks to Monto and some other DBDL Youtubers that have had meta's spread for awhile and it's come to my attention Torment needs to be re-adjusted.
Torment is only removed when sent to a cage of atonement or if you free someone from a cage of atonement, however recently I've been seeing ALOT of pyramid heads torment people, and just save the torment for a mori, The reason there can be an issue with this is the last-hook counterplay is gone, the extra seconds of hooking that last survivor is gone, and that means once you get torment you're screwed. because they can pick you up from a locker and drop you to instantly kill you. You have so much less time for this and the killer gets no downsides for doing this, He's still faster then you laying torment down, he has a long duration of putting torment trenches onto the ground. the trenches stay on the ground for so long. he essentially gets a free-mori most games if he just holds M2 when walking around, which is really dumb. Players should be awarded for skillful plays, not holding buttons down. (M1 Pyro mains incomming) There needs to be actual counter-ability to this. Whether it's removed whenever you get hooked, or after a timer it doesn't really matter. There needs to be another way to remove torment so Pyramid Head here can't get free mori's almost every game unless you're running urban evasion or wanna die quicker because oops trench everywhere.
It's not fun to play against really. trying your best to counter play and you get completely screwed over because the killer just has a free pass to stop a flashlight save, or to stop a pallet save. or sabotage attempt by a new person because they want to help, I don't play SWF, I personally don't think the game should be balanced around SWF. but when you give a brand new killer the ability to by-pass what could even be 10-30 seconds of extra time that could allow atleast one survivor to escape a trial,even if all of the survivors played extremely well. It really puts into light how much this guy has, Strong killers give challenge, but giving free mori's by just a passive ability really just makes this game less fun to go against this killer. This is like the Spirit bumping into injuried survivors senario. there's no counterplay, it's just "Oh you're injured, Die" this is "Oh you touched a trench, Die" There's no chance if they do this. and this change wouldn't even affect the main gameplay if people used the cages like the original intention. this would just stop people from being greedy with their torment trails. because after that there's no reason to put them down. it's just chase survivors, there's no active secondary objective. and with his ranged attack ontop of that this guy needs Something to give.
I post this in good faith and with maturity, I'm not here to argue with people in the comments. I know this community has a MAJOR problem with being toxic towards another side. and that the dev's don't even listen to the people who play both killer and survivor. I want this game to be fun for both sides and challenging, but I don't want the concept of instantly giving things away. I was supportive of the DS rework, giving it an actual functional use, I like the concept that meta perks are being reworked to be counter-playable and more fair then they used to be.

I agree the trenches last too long and have no counter
The torment should never have been left like this with no way to remove it
Imagine playing against a plague of which you could not cleanse, it would be extremely one sided.
I play killer and survivor 50/50 and I know that the trench gimmic is an awful idea that should have not been pushed into the game so underdeveloped

I feel like his ability to mini mori is a bit of his kit. He seems like he's in a really good spot balance wise and shouldn't be nerfed or buffed right out of the gate.

Thanks, I spent a lot of time on this, I don't post very often and a lot of my posts are usually rants, but I wanted to actively get information for this before I posted it. so I did my studies and gave the logical response of "Is this entitlement, or is this actually just being abused" and after consulting some friends and even one of the killers I went against Who was a pyramid head and 100% agreed with me, I decided to make this post.

The Mini-mori is fine, It's just the free-mini mori for trails isn't, I want some counter to being tormented, like how the plauge has the foutains to remove the sickness that gives you broken, or the doctor has "snap out of it" it seems off that they can just sit there and farm you at the tormented level to have that free mori essentially 100% of the time. It'd be like doctor forcing everyone to tier 2 of madness so survivors couldn't snap out of it, making it way harder to focus because now you're affected by so much stuff for it and you can't help yourself.

You realize that the reason that they don't use the other 2 states is that it benefits the survivors when you do most of the time. I'd be ok with providing another way to remove torment if it offers a plague like benefit for doing it. Otherwise I feel like that it's alright the way he is.

That's fine, but you still shouldn't just leave torment on them for the entire match to just loose those extra few seconds. I mean t he faster you torment a survivor and cage them the quicker you can get to chasing an other, and you can get hook states gone pretty quickly with doing this tactic, it just sucks that once you get torment it's "Hide or Die 2, Electric Boogaloo" even if you get it at the VERY start of the match, you're ######### until the end unless they cage someone or you get a hatch.

This is frankly absurd..just saying the game shouldnt be balanced around swf made me lose all sense of this coming from a fair pov..a status that does nothing till used is about strategy as using it too early can result in another loop with no way to make up for it..the line attack itself is very easy to dodge and his status effect has only 1 real use..I'm sorry but this is not at all objective..this is straight up bias

There's a bug that was in the ptb that wasn't fixed because I experienced it yesterday on PS4 - Torment just randomly being inflicted when there's 0 around to cause it. I was being healed by 2 other survivors while he chased someone across the map, halfway through I scream because I was randomly inflicted while the two healing me were fine.
There should be another method to remove Torment that doesn't involve rescuing someone from a cage, especially when you can randomly become inflicted. Even Freddy was changed to not rely on others waking you up, Torment should be the same.

Yeah, There should be atleast ONE other option, whether it's just that it lasts until either you get caged AND OR hooked, or if it's on like a 2 minute timer. it needs to have another way though.
