How come survivors quit during a match?

How come when I play as killer sometimes survivors quit during games and leaves there 3 teammates to try to stay alive? Some times I let them win if I only have one Gen left, other ways I just hook em lol.... But ya I do feel bad for em since there's only 3 of em. So I do chase them to give em a good scare then after one Gen is completed and there's 4 left then I hook em xd......

You cant force people to play something they dont want. But, I do think that DCs should be punished way harder.

Sometimes the game crashes for them it's not always a ragequit though DC punishment should be harsher

Sure, maybe in 0.001% of all DCs

It's been disconnecting me the past couple of days, earlier it was a "cannot update Player Level" error, and told me to restart the game.

    It depends.

Sometimes it's pure salt that they're losing.

Other times it's frustration at teammates farming them, killer not leaving the hook etc

Yea if there's like 3 of em in game and the other one crashed or rage quit ether way I chase the other 3 survivors to give em a good scare then after one Gen is completed I go after them and hook em.... But I do feel bad for em so after the game ends I say gg and they say gg back:) we also joke sometimes lol.

Lately, the game has crashed much more for me as both killer and survivor. I prefer to not dc, if the match sucks that bad, I'll either die on hook, or just harass the survivors till they leave. DC where I get zero points, no thanks.

There is no one reason. It could be a wide range of issues, from lag to not wanting to play against Legion.

No not on ps4 again you should really quit act like you know it all or just stop responding to comments of mine when you know I'm referring to PS4 because you dont know a thing about how it works , just like you try to say survivors keep their ######### when killers DC and they absolutely don't on console we lose points and all seriously if you're not educated on the subject or the platform don't respond and go troll somewhere else with your useless jargon you believe are "facts" , the day you decide to downgrade to ps4 and play as many hours I have  is the day I'll accept you telling me I'm full of ######### because until you switch and see you absolutely are uneducated and just trying to stir the pot more than help

At least for PS4, crashes happen with a bit more frequency. I am sure your numbers are accurate for PC, but not the case for PS4. I do not know about Xbox so I will not speak on that platform.

It's the only time I DC and I see it happen quite frequently. I run bond and you can tell the difference between someone getting downed and DCing and someone just DCing 'cause the internet went out or they lost connection to the killer. Recently, it's been happening more often since pretty sure they broke something recently. Why games had been loading in with 3 survivors quite regularly for a while.

Crashes are a thing, though i myself rarely crash, so to me the chances seem small.
Still, it could've happened, and it's not right to fully exclude the possibility.
0.001% is way too small, this game isn't stable enough to reach that number.

There are a lot of crashes before the match starts but honestly, I don't even remember when was the last time my game got crashed in mid match.

It is not more than 1% I can easily say that and even that number seems pretty high to me.

Funny, i crashed in the middle of a match about 12 days ago.
It was recent, but still rare, as my last crash before that must've been over 7 months ago.

i understand those who dc against damn tunneling killers or other toxic behaviour, or especially against Legion (there is no way to counter those bullshit abillities)

I blue screen once a day at least on dbd but the game is open for hours usually before it does , if the wait times weren't so long I'd say it wouldn't happen because the app stays open longer than it usually would  but I also have a original PS4 so it may be time to upgrade for me

Our hosting system is peer to peer. Which means that the survivors are connecting directly to the killer (host) instead of on a dedicated server. When the connection between the host (killer) and the survivors is lost (can be caused by game crashes, rage quits, internet issues, etc.) you see the survivors as Disconnected.

We have a system that punishes players from disconnecting often from games (rage quits) but it will not take action immediately after the act of leaving one game happens. The players who do it often are flagged automatically and banned.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you for responding @not_Queen and I was wondering if there were any plans to stop lobby dodging in the future? Alot of us on ps4 have had insane que times and believe dodging is reoccurring so much that it's actually breaking the matchmaking for some of us. I would just like to know if there's anything in the works moving forward? If you could please respond this is a important issue to alot of us

@OrionsFury4789 Right now in the way P2P is build, the PING indicator was added to give the players choice to dodge lobbies that aren't optimal (high pings) so it wouldn't be very fair to punish for lobby dodging. When we get Dedicated Servers, hopefully the matter will be reviewed. For now a lot of things that are Dedicated Servers related aren't determined yet.

Thank you I appreciate the response and hopefully they review it , it can only help get more accurate data to further balance the game if any issues are at hand

The game crashed in the middle of a match for me yesterday and has been blinking in black frames in my past few matches. It's definitely more than 1%

that’s because someone you people on mobile that is face camp the ######### out of players even when the game says NOT to do that. Then you continue to stab me when i’m hooked lol. Like all my other teammates are standing there trying to help but can’t because you salty ######### want to face camp lol. It’s only on mobile that people become jerks when being the villain which is why I leave cause it’s super annoying. Then when i’m down you continue to chase me when there’s other players near me. I started playing on PS4 and the play so much better there. No face camping.
