Can someone tell me what happened here?
So I want to be clear that's not sarcasm. Like I'm pretty new to the game and I genuinely want to know what I didn't know so I can do better next time. Like I didn't think you could open the hatch unless you had a key or you were the last survivor. Clearly I'm mistaken in my inexperience so what exactly did happen here? I posted both screenshots because it won't let me just post the video.
No key, no chest to my knowledge I was doing pretty solid pressure and none of them were out of my LOS for an extended period of time. I hooked one person and then I rang my little cowbell to go find someone else but I heard the pop behind me so I turned around and went back to hit whoever freed them and they just took three steps opened the hatch and dropped in. If they did find a key I take it it opens the hatch instantly without any like extended action? That's the only thing I can think of but again, very new to the game so I could be missing something that's completely obvious to everyone else with more experience than me.

Keys do open hatch instantly, so it was likely that they found a key in a chest. Unlucky for you, but it happens sometimes

I know this isn't really relevant, but I see you have discordance 3 on your wraith. Tip: never bring discordance past tier 1, because tier 1 discordance is best discordance. You'll get a notification of survivors working together every 8 seconds, which is much more frequent than 12 seconds.

Give him the full story though. Yes you get less noise span but the yellow aura when they let go stays linger at t3. Some of us prefer that

So like something to remember when I prestige? Or is there a way to select a lower t? And I welcome and appreciate advice like this so thank you

That definitely answers my one question. So like are there other perks that I should be avoiding putting extra levels in? That seems counterintuitive to my life as a gamer lol But I'm also not so pretentious I can't take good advice

My guess is they found a key in the chest, it's unfortunate how common red and purple keys are found in chests without any chest perks when they're supposed to be rare and ultra rare items. They also disappear when the hatch is opened so that's why you don't see one in their hand as they're jumping out.
As far as the discordance portion of this thread goes, I prefer tier 3 because it's less noise spam in my headset and the yellow aura lasts a little longer so there might not be two on the gen when you get there but there's definitely two or more in the area. I personally only use Disco on killers that can capitalize on getting multiple hits in quick succession like when I've got Meyers on Tier 3, Legion, Plague, and Hillbilly, it might be good on Pyramid Head too with his ranged attack but I don't have it unlocked on him yet.

If you prefer the noise spam yeah youd need to prestige and not ugrade it from t1. If you prefer the longer aura then t3 is what you want.

This is exactly why i prefer t3

That's a classic rainbow match. Congrats and welcome to dbd.
