Autodidact won't make the cut.

Now I would like to start saying that I'm rank 4 killer and play survivor with friends and solo it occasionally. Autodidact got shadow nerfed, and honestly I have a lot to say.
Autodidact was a solid perk during the PTB, and had a lot of usage. It basically allowed an instant heal, but at a cost. The perk took quite a while to build up, and calling it strong wouldn't be wrong, but its true potential could really only be useful for someone who ran empathy and relied on other survivors to constantly escape chase. The perk probably could've had a nerf to the same max healing, but increasing the threshold before you start getting benefits is a bit harsh. You would have to get 5 skillchecks, which would likely mean either saving every one of your teammates or getting really lucky.
The point is the perk can't really compete any more. I was more than willing to run it in place of we'll make it before it got nerfed, since it can be a gamechanger and lifesaver, but now it's really only good if you pair it with spine chill or rely on the killer running Unnerving Presence. Since skillchecks are rng in itself, the perk did have some issues where you could go through a whole heal and get no tokens.
Let me know you guy's opinions in a civil manner please.

You know, whenever someone starts a thread requesting buffs to Survivor Perks with "I'm a Killer main/high rank Killer/Killer player", it's almost always a Survivor main trying to give themselves a shred of credibility.

I just think that the perk posed a good threat and actually gave a bit of difference in the meta until it got nerfed.
(Edit) I also don't like how they just nerfed it without warning, honestly I thought it was an interesting perk. And yes I have been playing more survivor lately, mostly due to the fact that high rank killer lobbies can take a while.

I think if they made the initial penalty not as high it'd be usable - maybe have it max out at 4 tokens too.

When healing cube comes it’ll be useful. Buff the DARN pebble

    Autodidact is so odd.

I'm not sure if I like it now after it got nerfed. This perk has a habit of ######### your teammates over after the first couple of skill checks.

I will say this. Once you reach 5 tokens the perk can be beneficial. Problem is, I rarely get enough tokens for it to be worthwhile. You really have to dedicate yourself to altruism for the perk to hold its weight.

The only time I can see this perk being consistent is when against a killer that doesn't hook anybody until every survivor is slugged.

I'll just stop you right there everyone is saying it's a shadow nerf but it is literally in the patch notes. A shadow nerf is what they did to huntress. Assuming it's not just a bug

Right? I was on torment creek and one of the adams in my lobby was on one of the tractor things and he threw a pebble off and away and it made me lose focus and he got away :/ darn that pebble. Nerf it and make it a nerf pebble so it doesn't make sound when it lands

It still kills me that it took 2 years and 14 survivors for one of them to finally figure out that throwing a rock makes noise.

Healing is already to easy, to fast, to plentyful.
Giving more perks to improve healing is dangerous terrain in terms of gamebalance.
Survivor complain about getting tunneled, but want some instaheal abilities.
    That doesn't go together.

yeah but tunneling causes running instaheals or fast healing perks too...

So the devs reworked it, they have to balance this for a 4-man team with the combination of all the other healing perks and items. The ptb version started as what they thought was balanced, after reviewing it, obviously something was wrong and they felt it needed to be changed for balance purposes. While the change does not make the perk more viable as a first pick, I can see that they were trying to slow down early game and make late-game feel more rewarding.

A shadow Nerf is what they did to Micheal's teir 1 that they then had to buff. Also it's not a Nerf if the perk hasn't officially been released.
