Why do some survivors hate Legion?

Because he’s annoying. But nothing is more annoying than Freddy.

Legion is by far my least favorite killer in the game.

If Legion sees you with their power gauge full, you're all but guaranteed to be deep wounded. Sure, you can put baby Legions in the spin cycle and make them lose their power or pallet stun them if they get greedy. Good Legions will get that first hit almost every single time. This is frustrating for a bunch of reasons:

* There's just about no counterplay in this situation. You pretty much need the killer to mess up in order to avoid being deep wounded. The killer should have the advantage in every chase, but they should not get free hits, especially when they hit harder than normal M1s. That's just busted.

* Deep wounds is boring as hell to deal with. You just hold M1 for ~12-19 seconds to mend depending on add-ons every time you're deep wounded. What exciting gameplay. If you decide to heal, which you probably shouldn't, that's another ~0-40 seconds on top of the mend timer depending on how you're healing.

* Deep wound VFX are extremely annoying to chase through. Legion will typically stab as many people as they can easily reach during Frenzy, but the second they realize there's no one else close they just cancel their power and chase the most recent person they deep wounded. Not only is that survivor already injured, but the deep wounds effect makes it very difficult to see obstacles or in dark parts of some maps.

* Applying deep wounds and/or other status effects consistently causes DBD to freeze for a half of a second. This means you often end up running into walls and burning part of your speed boost after Legion hits you. This will happen for other killers that use Sloppy or, that have add-ons that apply status effects to their attacks, like Huntress, but this happens against Legion more than pretty much any other killer because of all of the deep wounding. I have a GTX 1060 6 GB and I run the game on low btw; it's not my rig or settings. This game just runs like crap.

* Landing that first hit basically rewards Legion with wall hacks to land even more easy hits. Can you run away the second you see the deep wounds bar pop up on survivor 1? Totally, and for that reason the second hit is way less free than the first. However, there are many situations where survivors are forced to cluster up. Unhooking, for example. Good Legions will shamelessly proxy camp hooks because it's a perfect opportunity to deep wound multiple people and waste even more time. In situations like that, there is zero chance that the second survivor will get away without being deep wounded because of killer instinct.

With my frustrations about the free first hit mechanic out of the way, I have some other more general complaints.

* Their lore is absolutely terrible. We have a Babylonian priestess revered as a goddess who banished herself from her city in a desperate attempt to appease the gods before succumbing to a plague, we have a girl who was murdered with a katana along with her mother by her father and who swore an oath with her dying breath that she would make her father pay before she would rest, and we have a group of four edgy teens who murdered a janitor. Sooo spooky.

* Their gameplay is entirely based around wasting time. I don't want games to drag on and on. That means you're getting BPs at a slower rate because of the 8k category cap. That's also just boring.

* You don't get to spend as much time interacting with the killer in a meaningful way when you're playing Legion. Legion just runs up, stabs you, runs away, you wait around for a bit moaning, then you find a gen, rinse and repeat. If you're lucky you'll get a chase or two in without deep wound VFX blocking your vision. Hooray.

* Legion gets played disproportionately much at high rank. Some of this is the current rift, but they're a popular choice regardless. I think a lot of it is that the skill floor is really low with the free first hits and all.

I miss the good old days when they were 110% movement speed and no one played them because they were sinfully bad... Legion really just needs a full, ground-up rework.

Legion, Deathslinger, and PH are the ones I see the most. But yeah, there are alot of Docs too.

Legion's power might as well read "Turn survivors into a generator until they mend." ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Legion is like Plague, but without the interesting bit. They both don't have much to help them in a chase and you're constantly injured, but that's it with legion. You don't have anything else unlike plague who has her corrupt purge that can really shift the pace of a match. They're also a really boring design. Bunch of edgy teens with knives and a mask. How fascinating.

That's basically it, they're just really annoying and his Frenzy is difficult to counter because it's like 360ing a experienced killer. Might work, might not, but either way, you're mending and staying injured all game.

Not saying they need a nerf, but to show you why survivors find them annoying — it's mending simulator. However, I'm optimistic that the developers are going to change them and it's going to be really exciting to see this happen! 😊

I don't think people think he's boring cause he's strong (I doubt anyone think he's strong), but I find him boring to go against, cause he adds even more M1 holding to the game.

Holding M1 is probably the most boring part about the game and Legion just adds more of it to the game. There is not much you can do when they're in Frenzy. Also they are really good against new players that like to heal. When I solo queue I notice survivors like to get healed after mending, then get hit by frenzy, mend and heal again, rinse and repeat. Which basically means they're not doing gens cause they heal against a killer that can injure you with very little counterplay.

Edit: Try to be in Deep Wound in the underground of The Game, Yamaoka or in Midwich and you won't be able to see anything

Play Legion every day and do not care what survivors say.

Make them mend eternal.

One day we will have our revenge and Devs will buff him to be able to down survivors again with our power, have faith Legions, we are many.

After this feedback I know that I should play Legion more.

Honestly it's just annoying. Especially a legion with ruin on a map that you can't find the totem. He is too weak to just kill you quickly and ends up just dragging a game on forever. I'd rather just get pummeled by a god nurse or something than spend an entire game mending. It's boring as hell.

There's no interactivity. He come hit you, then he switch to your teammate. You get off your generator of course he have ruins and thana, you mend. You get back to your generator. He come back hit you. Not saying he is OP. He's just very boring to play against. Especially when you have teammate that self care because they are scared to be injured. Basically when you play against legion it's just more time pressing m1 and less time actually juking the killer.

Because when they're deep sounded and have to mend, survivors can't genrush as they wish lol

Legion is fun to play and fight against

I would just change the visual dark effect of the deep wound cause i cant see anything with it
