The BIlly Circlejerk
The streamer Circlejerk around billy is funny to watch, he's been overperforming compared to other killers for years now, there has never been a time where he wasn't one of the top, he completely invalidates half the roster and ppl are crying because his power has a downside now.
Meanwhile nobody was saying "oh, they gutted legion to hard and basically made him an even more boring m1 killer"
Streamers don't care about balance, they are about what's fun to THEM since they are spending an absolutely bonkers amount of time in this game, watching a billy destroy lowrank teams with ease because new survivors cannot deal with the mappressure and chainsaw was absolutely ridiculous.

I can't speak for most of the streamers, but Otz played Billy very infrequently in recent months because he didn't find him as interesting as most of the other killers. If he's this vocally against the changes when he isn't even playing him frequently anyway...I feel like that's indicative of there being an actual problem.

Billy was perfectly balanced. All killers should be on par with billy so they can balance the game. If it’s too hard for survivors than give survivors a buff once all killers are par with billy. But instead they keep nerfing killers with cool downs and even gave billy one. This game is so easy as survivor now it’s going to be a walk in the park.

Overperforming? Overperforming is a killer who takes not much skill and can 4k every single lobby of legacy survivors while you just put your first 100 hrs into the game.
Reality: put 4 legacy survivors against a legacy Billy and it's going to be 1 kill and 3 escapes. This is reality. Billy "overperforms" against noobs who only M1 at gens and that's it. But every killer overperforms against noobs.
Billy takes a tremendous amount of time and skill to master him, especially when you try to master every little trick and the most satisfying called curving. Billy has a very balanced basekit with enough depth.
U can try to call Freddy overperforming or Spirit, that would sound much more reasonable and would open serious and genuine discussions. But definetly NOT Billy.

Billy mains speak openly against it. They have a clue, they know what they talk about. Otz explained why he is against it. You could take on his argumentation but I doubt you will.

Actually I watched otz the second the PTB started and he was fair throughout his claims.
I've watched Otz for years and once people get to know him... he's a very sincere and honest person who portrays his views with hard evidence and conviction.

Except those games do not happen regularly enough for 99,9% of the playerbase so why even talk about it, it's the same argument as with marth88's experiment, the devs know that a survivor squad will always beat ANY killer except nurse, should they balance a non-competitive game around 0.01% of the community? hell n.

The point is that you CANNOT bring other killers up to Billy's level.
How would you bring up for example myers to his level?
Stalk would need to not be limited per survivor which would break addon balance.
Even weak billys can hold m2 against 90% of the potatoes that seemingly don't know what windows are, even freddy doesn't snowball this hard.

Billy is still without even trying him better than: Clown, Myers, Wraith and he's probably on par with the new bubba. He's still gonna be a solid B tier due to having unlimited instadowns to punish survivor mistakes with.
Billy mains, totally not a biased opinion of ppl who will 4k for days without getting a single loss. Pure balance.

Its evident a lot of killer mains are going to come crying to the forums and reddit because of this horrid nerf.
As Otz said, they should canalize that butthurt and put it into something productive, like giving feedback in the PTB feedback section.

Billy doesn't need to be S tier, that's the whole damn point. The nerf will bring him down to still be solid, he'll just get reckt by perfect survivors 99% of the time now which is a whole different can of worms (maps, killer acceleration during loops, soundissues etc).
SoloQing against Billy was an absolute nightmare, even if you don't go down to his chainsaw, he'll just go around and find a teammate of you who will and then it's just an insane unrescueable snowball fest.

I find some of the changes terrible a few changes ok but I don't have any sinister motive for thinking so, I doubt anyone else does either.

That is what you do not understand, people will not play an unfun killer. What you describe is a problem with matchmaking and boosted potatoes being in ranks they do not belong in. You know people who are not good yet. That is not a reason to change a killer because inexperienced players do have trouble dealing with him.
Also you are not a winner because you know what will happen? People will play other killers who make solo q even more of a nightmare like the nightmare or the spirit. I hope you enjoy that because both of them make for a totally unfun game. This is what happens and what will happen. Nurse was made unfun, bugged and thus her pickrate even went below the pickrate of the clown. Billy will also not be played.
Enjoy to rely on randoms vs spirit, freddy and pyramid head who encourages scummy gameplay like no other killer. Hope you are happy.

Again, I don't need to refute them, the devs did it for me by nerfing billy, he was overperforming, end of story.
basically all big streamers touting how sad it is that billy is finally getting his comeuppance is called a circlejerk, especially considering many are not even playing him.

This. Once that snowball started it was pretty much impossible to stop it. Unlike other killers Billys snowball could come right from the start of the game too whereas killers like Leatherface at least have to clear the map of pallets first, or Trapper has to set some good traps etc
All Billys had add ons so theres no point talking about base billy, and if you missed one chainsaw swing you could ready another in seconds and keep trying and trying and trying until you got the hit. Basically he would get someone eventually and the snowball would begin

Even the biggest potato can run freddy for 30 seconds (unless STBFL) if he just tries to get distance. I'll prefer that over billy any day, thank you. Freddy mainly shuts down great loopers.
Spirit already gets picked alot and those games are never as snowbally altho you cannot simply hold W against her.

You call the reactions of people a circlejerk who react to changes by the devs and express why these changes are bad. Than you at first say well the devs already refuted that which is utterly wrong. They're also usually the ones who call survivor mains "cry babies" because they have legit nothing substancial to add to the conversation.
If they put as much effort into providing productive feedback instead of trying to be "loud" I think people would take them more serious.

If Scottjund is able to 4k 32 times in a row with speedlimiter bubba I don't wanna know what a good curvebilly can do. It's the same situation as with nurse, both had it coming for ages and finally the devs are bringing the skillceiling of this game to a sane level.

Tell me why would a non-billy main give a ######### about a billy nerf, is it fun to watch your team go down in seconds and then have no chance since this is a 4v1 game?
Same with people who called Nurse "fun" just because she took a load of skill while falling to her without a chance unless SWF'd up. If nobody told you back then that nurse was "fun" and required a ton of skill then you'd certainly not have fun playing against a character that warps through every defense that you have, same with billy but ofc in a much more believable context.

why would a non billy main give a #########? because they play billy sometimes. because they go against billy. because they know reworks and balance changes wont stop with billy and may come to their main some day, and if people dont tell the devs why they think the billy nerf is bad, then their main may become worse and/or less fun to play. just a few thoughts... by the way are you a billy main?

Nah, I main PH right now since he's fun and I loved spirit and old freddy, heck on old freddy I only went merciless with no perks and addons till R3 when everybody said he was F tier. Currently I only play DBD casually tho.
If your killer gets nerfed he gets nerfed, it is what it is. I loved the pre-rework legion yet he got completely gutted into an M1 killer, there's not much difference to before in power, I'd argue he's even stronger esp with all the missing godloops now where old legion would not even be an issue but it is what it is.

I can't tell if you just don't know what you're talking about or are trolling.
First of all, most survivors are trash at this game. If you cannot progress to red ranks, you are bad at this game, and considering the overall percentage of people who have achieved this, and the recent rank changes, combined with survivor entitlement, most survivors just suck. Billy crushes noob teams because most teams are noob teams.
He used to not be completely terrible before this rework, because base kit Billy kind of gets destroyed by actually semi-competent survivors, but considering how his base kit got a big nerf, and a lot of his new addons are trash (instead of the devs using their brains and just nerfing ######### like crack Billy or tuning guide/lube).
People like you just strike me as edgelords who want to be controversial for brownie points. The devs have once again demonstrated they're mostly incompetent, to the surprise of absolutely nobody.
Literally everyone acknowledges Legion is an awful killer, so you're either ignorant or lying. Streamers, like Otz, Scott, True, etc., people who understands this game, are saying that Billy was overnerfed because they're true. More strong killers improve the overall health and diversity of the game.
But as long as we have people like you who just want to be edgy and don't understand gameplay balance, combined with a dev team where no one is even past like rank 10, you get this awfully balanced game.

Nobody gives a ######### about the top 1% in this game, period. The devs need to balance the game for the people you call "noobs", they rake in the money and keep this game going, not your idols.
Even league of legends doesn't exclusively balance around the top 1% and that is an actual esports game with prizes.
