Survivors shouldnt be able to see killer perks when they die (till the end of the match).

I think the title is pretty self-explanatory.

Its not logic that when one of the survivors of a premade dies he can tell the others which perks is the killer using. The whole killer's strategy depends most of the time in his perks. If I use an end game perk its because I want to surprise the survivors, and there is no option to surprise them when they already know what im gonna do.

I got to this situation last 3 days:
I play that killer perk that blocks the exit doors for 60 seconds when I hook a survivor (I dont remember the name, sorry). I combine that with noed, and my idea is to try to kill them at the end. Most of survivors dont expect that, but the thing is that every single game im playing have a premade in it, and you already know what happens then... So I take down one survivor, and before I can hook him the others scape...They dont even try to rescue him! Then at the chat they brag about how their dead premade told them throught Skype what my perks were.

I dont consider this a crazy or unbalanced idea, rather it is a matter of logic. The killer dont know survivors perks, so lets stop thinking like premades are not using external tools to communicate and give killers the same deal.

Thanks everybody for reading.

You forget that DBD is a game balanced around solo players, SWF and voice comms doesnt, at least thats what the balancing team knew when they created the game. Then some pleb went ahead and introduced SWF makign it possible to abuse voice comms

Was thinking of this yesterday. After so many hours I realized that some perks are completely useless against survivors that play in pair of 2, 3, 4. They just sit on discord or TS, first one who gets killed or escapes gives info on killer perks making perks like No One Escapes Death, Blood Warden.

Suggestion is to make survivors see killer perks ONLY after EVERY survivor has died/escaped.

Then you shouldn't be able to see what I bring into the game. I can see your perks once dead...big deal! You see what everyone has equipped (med kits, tool boxes, keys) before the match even start and can act/build accordingly. So what if I see that you have iron grasp and nurse calling once I'm dead ?

I agree on this. I dont see a point in blocking the end. most of the time you can pretty much tell what a killer is running by the end of the match anyway. I play both sides and I dont care if you see what I am running after you die. Tell your buddy I dont care, it wont change what I do as a killer. I have never thought that was a good perk anyway, more of a waste. Most of the survivors I play with open the gates and than end up waiting on the last guy to be unhooked or make it to the gate and by then it has already worn off. Once in over 300+ hours has that perk ever caught me and I admit it was my own fault for not paying attention when i went in. I do think the items being used at the beginning due need to be hid. Too many killer quit when survivors use purple items or come in with tools or flashlights, and yes as a killer I do make changes to my killer based upon what I see the survivors holding or even who I am going to go after first if I run up on a group of them. Its common sense to do that and it would make the game more interesting to hide that. So I hope the devs would reconsider something so silly, I don't watch the matches after I die unless it is almost finished anyway. It wouldn't punish me to not see it unless its a perk I'm not familiar with and wanted to see what let the killer do something in the match. Being able to see that a killer does have bbq and not have a buddy watching a stream telling him where someone is is kinda important if you are suspecting a killer of cheating. Just saying that would generate a whole lot of false reports because no one wanted to wait around for the match to be over just to verify it was a perk and not a snipe. We all know how salty a player gets when they lose and that goes for both sides killer and survivor.

Yes its so dumb that survivors can see the killers perk before the game is completly finished. In swf they just tell it to their teammates which gives a huge advantage and makes some perks obsolete. This needs fixing.

If I was ever in a SWF scenario, I would never ghost by revealing killer's perks - only confirmed perks demonstrated during the match. I would not want to be told what the killer's perks are, so yes, remove the ability to see the end score screen until the match is over.

But, it really only matters if people are on voice chat together. Mainly because seeing the killer's perks can be communicated via voice chat to survivors that are still alive, which means they can then play around it, e.g. 'No One Escapes Death'. This isn't something the developers intended for the game, so it should be prevented if possible. Unless they decide that they want it in the game, but they haven't... so.

Also, seeing survivor items before the match doesn't change much; survivors can pick up items in the trial.

It's interesting that in the same post you say that hiding perks doesn't matter and that you don't care, even if it is to prevent cheating. Yet, you argue that the devs should hide survivor items before the trial starts because of your fear that the killer might be cheating.

Also, I'm not sure why you would choose perks based on what survivors are going in with, considering they can get items in the trial. I mean, the only time I would think a killer shouldn't be worried about survivors using items is if they're playing as the nurse or hillbilly. Considering I don't play those killers much, I've never ran a build that didn't have overwhelming presence, or franklin's demise in ranks 1-10.

Mate, currently items are fine to see. Since all items use the same model per type the killer has no clue what in Sam hill you're bringing. You could stack four crappy common toolboxes and trick the killer into wasting a perk slot by bringing Franklin's Demise. They can't tell if your flashlight came from a Walmart or the Military so not everyone will use perks to counter it. Once they introduce unique models for each item is when the fun begins.

Well the reason I will argue one over the other is simple the beginning items can effect an entire match. the killer perks are only after a loss of a player if that player is in some sort of coms. So we are dealing with an absolute vs a maybe at best. I mean 1 survivor has to die before the killers perks even have a possibility to be revealed. So to me the killer is already 25% done with the match at that point. On top of that what is the chances that the first kill is in a coms with someone? Ok they may or may not be, if not then a second would have to die at that point only 50% of the game is left. Once again what is the chance? so If the first two kills are not in coms and then the last two are by the time it is told your are on the last leg of the game. Is it fair? Not really, but it is a lot more reasonable than the 100% for the items. To me I can pretty much tell what perks a killer is using in the game long before anyone dies. Bbq is so easy to tell as soon as the first player is hooked, the hunters totem alert the second you touch the hex and your spine chill lights up. Plus so many more so its not as much of a cheat. think of it as playing cards. The items shown would be like showing off three ace's where as the killer perks is like showing a pair of eights. They are both technically cheats but the items can be seen by every killer plus it shows the killers item as well so he is at a disadvantage as well. How many times are the devs only going to buff the killers and nerf the survivors? I have not once seen a survivor given a buff that just one sides the game like I have for the killers. Should survivors win with ease? No absolutely not Should the killers win without any resistance also no. That is all I am saying is why not do the items too? Why is there no talk of this? I read the forums and instead of everyone working together for a balanced game I see killer vs survivor crying.

You've clearly never went against an all flashlight 4 man. Bringing LB-OP-FD never felt so good. And the devs have stated that the reason we can see items is to give us an advantage.

Having killer perks hidden till the end of the match is a must.. The ONLY people that benefit from this is Survivors With Friends so this really is a no brainer and needs to happen.

I actually agree with this. It would take a lot of power out of swf and would let killers run more surprise-oriented builds such as the one you gave an example of. Part of the skill of being a survivor should be narrowing down what perks the killer has based on in-game experiences

They can see what type of item you have, but not the exact one. Is it a mechanic’s toolbox, or a yellow box? A broken key or a skeleton key? Not to mention it’s a feature that was intentionally put in the game to prevent four man queues of boxes from being a thing. Ghosting the perks was not an intended feature, and for good reason. It ruins the surprise aspect of some perks like blood warden and noed
