Lopro Chains Add On
So I know there is big talk about Billy's add ons, but I wanted to bring attention to this one.
For some reason I thought that the effect which only puts survivors in the injured state, was after getting hit with the chainsaw while the Hillbilly sprints through the pallet. I did not realize it was anytime they get hit. π
Anyway. After being confused by the concept, I thought that this idea would actually make the add on better, not to mention worthy of a Iridescent add on. It seems pretty weak atm.
I know being able to continue sprinting through a pallet is cool, but to me it isn't enough to really call this an ultra rare.
What do you guys think?

It's trash. Like all new iris.

I think the idea is to make it so speed limiter is actually used. 50% bloodpoint bonus for no downside if used with it.

I mean, I wouldn't necessarily call it "trash". I don't think it is as strong as it could be.
I'm trying to gather feedback here.

Yeah but Speed Limiter is still an addon. If you combo LoPro chains with Speed Limiter you still don't insta-down.

And I can totally see that, but tbh I don't think forcing players into only using those two add ons to get the most value out of it is smart or fun.
My only issue with it is that it doesn't put survivors in dying state when not sprinting through a pallet. I think it would make the add on more versatile, while also making it a bit stronger, worthy of being an ultra rare.

Well I don't think its as bad as most people think. Billy still keeps all of his mobility, he just exchanges his ability to insta-down to be an m1 killer who can hit through pallets. Since good survivors don't let a Billy use his chainsaw most of the time and since the insta-saw is basically dead, I think this addon can be pretty good. It just changes the play style of Billy without nerfing or buffing him, which is my favourite kind of iridescent addon.

Usually when I think of an iridescent add on, I think of something that makes the killer stronger. Even if they made it to where he can put players into the dying state when not sprinting through a pallet. That is still strong, but it isn't exactly making him OP.
Like, he is far from that as it is, but one of the coolest aspects about Hillbilly is to be able to chainsaw people. It is very evident that using his chainsaw comes with a big drawback now, so the problem I have with them creating even more add ons where the survivor only gets put into injured state is that it diminishes that cool aspect.
That's why I think it is a good compromise if they were to only go into injured state, IF you sprint through a pallet, not if you just chainsaw them like normal. I don't think is asking for much.

I created a post about this a couple weeks ago when the PTB first went live and I was so frustrated by the fact. It could very EASILY be a somewhat decent iridescent if it worked the way everyone thinks it should work.
I'm honestly so sick and tired of every iridescent add-on being complete garbage, I would honestly rather run COMMON ADD-ONS than iridescent add-ons for many killers and that should be a huge red flag for everyone especially the dev team.

It's really bad. You gain speed limiter for a clunky pallet break.

It's honestly so bad.
It's Speed Limiter without the added BP.

I know it's not as strong as it could be, but the reason I don't think it's that bad is because in those instances where survivors vault and gain a bit of distance, it feels REALLY cool to be able to down them if they run in a straight line. Whereas normally you would just break the pallet and they would gain that distance.
I just played against a team where I got stunned and broke through the pallet but they still went down.
I get what you are saying @BigBrainMegMain That's why I said that's the part that bothers me the most. The fact that it could be a cool add on, but it's far from feeling like an ultra rare. :)

They also received plenty of feedback, to allow a cooldown after a pallet break, THEN allow the chainsaw to be a 1 hit down but no.
The feedback didn't merit responses, I guess.

Oh I will have to look at it.
I think this add on specifically just needs some tweaks. Like I don't think it would be broken with the idea I presented. Especially when if we are generalizing his chainsaw usage has been minimized, so for me creating even more add ons where you're only injuring survivors is going to make me want to M1 more just doesn't make sense.
The essence of Billy needs to stay. That's why I hope the devs will at least re-consider some of his add ons.
Edit: Do you have a link to that or did it disappear? o.O

Fair enough, I would need to test both cases to make a comment. To me it sounds like with your choice if the survivor doesn't drop the pallet they get downed, if they drop it they waste the pallet and still get hit. But I may be wrong on the timings, I would love to see someone actually test it.

At first sight itβs no good.

It's my most recent discussion. I think it's closed because it was moved to "4.1.0 PTB Feedback" and every PTB Feedback channel is closed and archived when the PTB closes. Here's the link to it though since you wanted to read:
Not too much substance to it, I was just calling out the problem immediately when I saw it the day the PTB went live and brought attention to the issue is all the thread was. Although I did cite some content creators who have been playing and covering DBD for years who had similarly disappointed reactions.
Scott Jund made an analysis on how horrible the add-ons were and specifically called out the lopro chains, so that's in the comments of that thread as well.

I just went against some survivors who told me I would not have won without this add on btw.
Sorry I just found that so amusing. π€£

Oh wow, he had the SAME exact reaction I had. I actually thought it was a bug and started posting a thread in the bug section. Cuz the wording was a bit confusing. LMAO
Good to know others feel the same way. I think it makes too much sense to not change it so the add on only affects sawing someone through a pallet.

A lot of others feel the same way. In fact, it makes so much sense I'm worried it might make too MUCH sense for BHVR and they decide not to do anything.
Top 10 bruh moments.

Lopro's effect even without a downside isn't very useful.
There are hardly any straight ways pallets in the game outside of the double pallet on "The Game" which are by the bathroom/basement.
Even then on those maps given the stagger if inflicts on your ability to control it during the break makes hitting people even on that straight way incredibly hard as they will either reach the turn or will juke you due to your lack of control from the stagger.

@Johnny_XMan Good news friend:

Even with it's new changes, it will be horrible. Do people not realize there's like...2 pallets that force you to go straight after using them? They're on The Game. Otherwise survivors don't typically just run straight after a drop.

LMAO
Its incredibly powerful. Most billys rev the chainsaw to get the pallet drop at which point they instantly destroy it, and most get spirit fury stacks. Now you have 2 choices you take the chainsaw or you drop the pallet and he zooms through and hits you.
Even if the survivor curves, the fact that you carry on forward as Billy is going to save some distance.
Add in billys latency hits and this is going to be incredibly strong.

You hit them as theyβre dropping it. My concern with the addon is that the five second timer likely procs even when kicking a pallet/wall.
0 -
Is that what the add-on is supposed to do now? If so, then it's solid.

It's still not good. Especially for It's rarity. But at least they got rid of the ridiculous negative.

Honestly BHVR should give the Lopro chains to Bubba without the downside, and make Billy's Iri cool the chainsaw by like 30% on a successful chainsaw hit

Clearly you don't know survivor behavior very well.

The add on isn't just strong for when survivor run in a straight line after dropping. It also works for those instances in which they vaulted and you would get to the pallet and only break it, because the survivor was no longer connected. So it gives you that extended distance which you didn't have.
It's a solid add on. Which is what people were asking for.
