PC - Player Level Reset Itself to 1

This is not an in game bug. This is regarding the Player Level system.

I was playing today, and it disconnected me between matches to do the daily update and give a new daily, and once I was able to get back into the menus, I saw that my player level is back down to 1. I was player level 86 or so, I can't really remember, but I've put in over 820 hours. I was playing before Player Level existed.

I know it's not a visual glitch, as I started a survivor game for a daily, and I got a Loading Tip for "Playing against the Demogorgon." I haven't gotten any of those in years.

Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. And I have tried closing and reloading the game, and steam, to see if it persisted. It did.

This can't be intentional, as it would make getting Iridescent Shards super easy. Nothing else seems to have changed, I still have all my currencies at the same levels, all my cosmetics are here.  Only the Player Level reset to Level 1 with 0 xp. I've done a couple matches and it's up to about 520 xp now.

Is this a bug that will be fixed, or do I have to start over from the beginning, getting all the dumb killer giveaway loading screens again?

So no response in over 2 weeks huh? Shows how much they care. I've gone from level 1 to level 27 in the time it's taken waiting for a response.

Also, the Devotion for playing multiple matches in a row also seems to be stuck at 1. I've played lots of games, last saturday I played for 5 hours straight, and my devotion is still only at 1.

Can I at least get a "You're not important enough to complain"? that way I'll stop checking back for replies.

"Pretty good job so far." Ha!

Based on what I've just read, this isn't a bug, just a misunderstanding. Your Devotion level isn't for playing multiple games in a row. You get a new Devotion every time you hit level 100, and then your player level resets back to 1 again and you do it all over. You apparently hit 100, gained a Devotion, and reset back to level 1 with 1 Devotion. When you get to 100 again you'll reset back to 1 and go up to Devotion 2.

The Killer tooltips is unrelated. I've seen others who've said they always get them every game, and always have.

Ditto. Check your Devotion level. You'll probably see that it's set to "1" now.

Ok, if that's the case, then fine. I don't remember getting to 100, I was only 86. I don't play enough to have gone from 86 to 100 in the course of this time. The fact that I was booted and made to relaunch the game at the same time added to the confusion.

More to the point, I couldn't find the in game help about player levels and devotion or I'd have checked there and not made the post. None of the tabs on the tutorial pages say anything about it that I could find. If you change the system with an update, you need to change the help content to reflect the changes.

I'll ignore the fact that it took two weeks and getting angry to illicit a response. And even then, not from anyone official. Makes me worried that if I really did have a problem, there would be frank-all support available.

Thank you both for enlightening me, and providing the simple answer I should have gotten a lot sooner. This can be closed.
