Stamina system
I just put my idea here. In hope this can be used in the future. Or just to have some discussion.
Stamina system
Killers have speed of 110-115. No more blood lust.
Survivors now have Stamina bar:
- Every 20sec of running, survivors drop 50% of Exhaustion bar, get (-5) speed. Running nonstop for 40sec will deplete Stamina bar. Once deplete, Survivors get Exhaustion status, keep their speed penalty (-10) until their Stamina bar recovered up to 50%.
- Dying, Walk, Crouch gain Stamina bar, 40sec to fully filled.
- If Survivors have Exhaustion status, they can not activate Exhaustion perk
- Requires 30 Stamina to use Exhaustion perk
Example:
Healthy / 100 Stamina / Sprint: (105)*1.5 = 157.5
Healthy / 10 Stamina / Walk: (105-5)*0.6 = 60
Injured / 50 Stamina / Run: (105-5-5)*1= 95

Was thinking something similar.

Why is this a needed change?

Kinda unfair for 110 killers 5% is kind of a big deal.
2 -
That's just reverse bloodlust
9 -
Give survivors more interesting decisions (do I run over to here and lose even more stamina, or do I walk to this weaker position but keep my exhaustion topped off?)
0 -
This just sounds like a constant annoyance to have when you play survivor. Interesting idea tho
2 -
Exhaustion already exists. This is useless and overboard.

Its far from reverse bloodlust. Once hit, killers lose bloodlust. Or they can transfer bloodlust and chase another survivor.
This Stamina system, the more u run, if u got into chase, it would be like Killer already have Bloodlust because ur Stamina already drop from running around.
For me, its not. Remember to keep 105 speed, they have to walk all the time to save their Stamina, incase they run into chase. And for that, it saves killers alot of time.
Example: if survivor1 in chase and got down, survivor2 runs close and try to flashlight save. That survivor2 already lose some of their Stamina
I didnt explain through how Exhaustion perks can be used in Stamina system. Exhaustion status is removed (replace with Fatigue)
Exhaustion perks just need 30 Stamina to use it

Better set for a new game. Introducing a new system like this would require recoding of existing perks.
And if you know anything about Dead By Daylights code, you'd need to understand that less is more. The more they code, the more they break.
This is not balanced in the slightest. Solo players will have an even harder time playing due to how killers move.
Personally, I don't find myself in many chases. So, this wouldn't hardly effect me because I have a stealthier approach(no i dont use urban :P). The game already isn't much fun outside of playing in a SWF. This, I feel, would put the nail in the coffin.

Again, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
4 -
True, but it's broken.

How is the current exhaustion system "broken"?
1 -
The exhaustion system is not a stamina system. That's not what's being fixed here.

Ah yes, every chase over in less than 20 seconds because survivors either have to walk everywhere to make the chase last 20 seconds, or they run a little bit and suffer a speed loss when they hit 1 - 19 seconds of running in a chase.
This is OP, get better at chasing instead of trying to make chasing easier.
2 -
@SenzuDuck Read it again, Survivors start with 105 speed (10 speed less than killer instead of 15), after 20sec running, Survivor speed dropped too 100 (15 speed less than killer instead of 20 for bloodlust 1)
I math-ed before writing this

I feel bloodlust is a better counter balance to long chases instead of some kind of stamina bar, I think making one side faster feels a lot better than making one side slower while the other side maintains the same speed.
0 -
The math doesn't matter if it's just a bad idea honestly, now you have to walk across the map to save someone because if you don't you wont be able to chase if the killer comes back over.
2 -
Also heres how I see the system, its like a slower but stronger and longer lasting bloodlust, 20 seconds of chase the killer is permanent bloodlust 1 effectively, 40 seconds, the survivor is basically screwed, some killers powers are balanced in chase by the fact that they don't get bloodlust, could you imagine clown using 15%+5% from slowdown addon to move at 115% speed while a survivor is moving 70% speed, doesn't sound fun. Doctor timing would be way easier to manage, killers like deathslinger and huntress with slower movespeeds to make up for strong powers but usually never use bloodlust just get straight upgrades.
1 -
It's worse than that because its just running in general, running to save someone from going into second phase, you're now 5% slower before even entering a chase with the killer, if you're injured, that's a further 5% slower, you're now at 95% entering a chase because you saved someone while injured.
this system is just not good at all.
1 -
Don't forget survivor base running speed of 105, because [redacted] you huntress, spirit, t1 myers, and deathslinger in particular
0 -
Yea I see that but
-5% for running 20 seconds - 100%
-5% for being injured - 95%
-5% - for running another 20 seconds, less than that if you use an exhaustion perk - 90% & DEAD.

Not able to run to hook save is a valid reason though
- In game: Killer is 15% faster than Survivor, at Bloodlust 3 will be 30% faster.
- My idea: Killer is 10% faster than Survivor, at Fatigue status will be 20% faster
My idea is Survivors have 5% better speed at all time, but requires Stamina management.

This game is not balanced for a system like this, this is a bad idea.
0 -
This would make urban/fixated good perks

This might take the cake for worst suggestion I've seen on the forums and I've seen some pretty outlandish things.
So the killers suffers no speed penalty ever, but I have to run from my gen to the hook to save someone and then already be exhausted when the killer comes back to the hook because I ran there to save someone???
Yeah, no thanks

This won't work in dbd. Killers are already faster than survivors. A stamina system would be redundant.
This is not F13 where Jason is slow.
1 -
I mean it worked in F13th because Jason was upper slower than a running survivor, and each of them has running speed too, in that approach you penalize survivors who thrives in chases, which is an interesting part of the game when it don't involve looping.

ingame 105 vs 115 is 10% faster and 105 survivor vs 110 killer is just dumb
0 -
would make legion much stronger, early injuries and time wasted means faster followup chase, if you spent the first 10 seconds just injuring them and others you probably have 5-10 seconds before they move at 95% speed which is probably a death sentence
0 -
that would be a huge impact for survivors
0 -
Nerfing the entire survivors side to make legion stronger sounds ridiculous imo.
this is not a system that is needed.
