Allow Console-Only Crossplay Option

I don't know what it is about so many devs of cross-play games and pretending as if PC and console players are on equal footing. The combination of K&M, FPS, and better hardware capabilities in general leaves console players at an uneven footing in competitive games. DBD is no exception. Crossplay is a nice feature when used to play with friends on different consoles. But if I'm on Xbox and a friend is on PS4, why should we have to expose ourselves to K&M sweats who will often make that experience much worse?

And please display where players are coming from next to their name instead of that little crossplay symbol.

The sad thing is the PC players think they’re good beating console players so it’s boosting they’re egos so much right now. The devs don’t care. @Peanits or anyone at BHVR should know that it’s not fair and should have made a console only cross-play or at least make switch, Xbox and PS4 share cross-play since we have and have HAD the worst frames since the game came out.

It's an online multiplayer game where you compete to win and earn rank based on the results of that competition. It fits the definition of competitive game enough for balance to be relevant. Otherwise, why have these feedback forums?

DbD is a casual game and is in no way competitive. As long as keys, moris, crutch perks, rng, etc. exist it will forever be a casual game. Plus the abysmal matchmaking and emblem system. KB/M is not a must to be good at the game. I personally know a lot of console players that play better than those who use KB/M. If you don’t like crossplay then disable it. Stop treating DbD as if it’s a competitive shooter or a competitive game in general. Crossplay is good for games.

Cross play is not always good for games, especially not dbd. I have never disliked playing dbd as much as i do now. I want them to prioritise console first before they add pc players in. Not mix it so extremely like they do now.

the fact that they don't balance like other competitive games

the fact it 1 vs 4

the fact that MMR messed and getting to rank 1 does nothing or giving you anything.

the fact the no leaderboard in this game

so for that it don't feel like a competitive game and a lot don't play like it is they only few sweaty people on both sides they care about rank tho it mean nothing.

Well I have to agree that while the game may be casual without leaderboard or working MMR, it is far from a party game. I would define a party game as something where either everyone plays against each other or the game is based on teams of the same size.

This games gets a sense of competition just by being PvP and asymmetrical. Of course their is no overarching goal but just to beat the enemy side (either the stronger killer that has to be overcome or the group you have to beat). It feels or seems like a competition while the perception will vary for each and everyone.

I would call games like worms, ultimate chicken horse, speed runners, move or die and so on party games.

Some games like Mario party or "move or die" have also Minigames/gamemodes where everyone has to play against a sole stronger player. But those game give the sole player (power role) more might while the group (number role) has to really work together. And the payoff for the sole player feels more rewarding.

I had more to say but lost the topic while rambling so I'll stop here.

Edit: Tldr: I think dbd doesn't feel like a party game. More like a normal PvP game in normal mode.

this like topic i had years ago with smash people treat it as competitive game like tekken or street fighter(can feel competitive) but other think it party game as well.

Yeah smash is a party game but people can treat every game like a competition.

But dbd does not offer the spirit of playing it purely for fun. There is always the feeling of power struggle between both sides. Probably because the goals from both sides contradict each other.

In most party games both parties compete towards the same goal.

Edit: I think it would "feel" like a party game if two killer and two groups of survivors would compete with each other to see which one is the most efficient/fastest or whatever.

Another party way of playing dbd is to play kyf and switch after one round and compare bp or whatever rating the party invented.

But again that would imply to play as a party of minimum five and switching the respective objectives.

Playing dbd alone or heavily on one side (like me) does not give a party game like feeling in any way but just the PvP like sensation of for example league of legends, rainbow six siege or rocket league in normal queue where my win or loss means overall nothing.
