The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

my biggest issue with crossplay

Why is there no way to msg people from other platforms. I really did hope that the chat box would come with this update to console but sadly it did not.

I lost count on how many people I wanted to msg about something because they aint on ps4, if anything can we get a whisper system where you can just pm people? obvs with the ability to turn it off if the other player does not want to deal with toxic msgs and stuff. but I feel this would be a real neat thing that just helps flesh the game out more

Many console players have gotten quite proficient with typing with controller. Please enable post game and pregame chat for consoles. I miss being able to say gg without sending a friend request

You can already pm on ps i get it all the time by survivors who think i did something wrong apparently. Idk ahout pc but im sure steam allows pms as well. Or they can write under you "dirty camper/tunneler" or something.

messaging with a controller is faster than you might think especially with the word suggestion function.

Chat would just be two things:

    "GGWP"

    and

"Expletive Expletive you Expletive. You suck. You camper/tunneler/gen rusher/useless teammate/idiot/moron/racialslur/homophobic slur/whatever!"

Right on the d pad for 'gg' left for '######### you'... that's all you need really

You can make the argument that it's hard to type on console, but if I understand correctly PS4 can't even read the chat right now. If I'm in solo queue, I want to be able to send a message like "I'm running Open Handed - roll out your Bonds!" Even if they don't respond, or they only have time to send "k", that's still a valuable piece of information that I'm now not able to share with them.

It also sucks not being able to leave messages for the other players in the post game. I've been matched against a lot of console baby killers lately and I want to give them some encouragement and some tips, but I can't.

You know console players can plug in there keyboards right? I know alot of people use controller for messages but the option is there to type with a keyboard.

That's correct console can't see in game chat, it doesn't exist for console players. They have to message through psn or xbox live unless you're on switch then you have to use outside sources.

Agree. I've gotten plenty of hate. Absolutely zero love.

Sorry to hijack your thread a bit, I didn't want to start a new thread, nor did I want to necro an older post. I've been giving it a go to see the difference between play styles, and it is pretty stark.

Now, this is coming from a survivor perspective as I don't play killer...PC survivor players do seem to be better at the altruistic, and bold aspects of the game, while console players seem to crouch around the map, and freeze the second they hear a heart beat. It's quite sad actually. The second a gen explodes, and off they run! It appears to be 50/50 I see with gen completion, and out running the killer. It also appears that when a console player finds the PC survivor in the match, they latch on to you like a leech.

Now, on to the killer... /sigh Now, I do not have much, or any love at all for the killer end of the game, but playing mixed system has given me a new appreciation(?) for PC killers. I have to say that I love my PC killers compared to what I have experienced from console. To put it nicely, PC killers are more fun, and fair compared to console killers. PC killers will actually engage in chases, and do objectives in a way that is fun. Console killers...I used to complain about slugging/camping/tunneling before mixed systems, and now it appears that the aforementioned complaints are the console killers play style. Its sad that dc-ing or suiciding on hook to leave the match is worth it to actually get a real game, instead of a staring contest. It is also sad that you can tell a PC versus a console killer within seconds of a chase.

I have a feeling I will be opting out shortly.

But to your point about chat boxes, why not turn them off, or give us the option to not see chat. Even if they don't get you in chat, there is the risk of them messaging your profile. I met quite the eloquent speaker (if you catch my drift) after a match that I out ran him. I made sure to change my profile back to private.

Keyboards work with typing on Xbox, also Xbox controllers have the chat pad accessory.
