Why do we not have the “new” Blight on PTB yet?
So apparently the changes are significant enough that even McLean didn’t want to play the PTB version of Blight... yet we’re still testing him?
It would be like going to test drive a Honda Civic and the dealer telling you “by the way when you come back tmw to pick it up we’re gonna give you a Nissan.”

Yeah, kind of a weird choice on their part. What use is player feedback going to be on an outdated PTB?

I think "new" blight has some critical bugs or isn't ready enough.
Don't forget that we're also testing new perks, survivor, general killer animations and interactions, new maps, new chests, pallets and generators.
Even if the new blight is going to be bad or not properly working on release, I hope it will be fixed in future hotfixes coming in 1-2 weeks after release.

Because development goes though stages.

True, but what's the point of testing something on a PTB, that has already been changed? The major complaint about The Blight is his gigantic hitbox and the double fatigue at the end of a hit after the rush.
Both of those things have already been changed, but not every player on the PTB knows that, because it isn't written anywhere, you had to watch the livestream of a dev to find that out.
And who knows, maybe the updated version has some new flaws that need to be pointed out? But we will never know until he hits the live servers, because we are stuck with a version, that was outdated as soon as the PTB hit...
6 -
Well yes, but why have people test something that was outdated before it was even released?
1 -
Maybe they were changed but not tested.
Even if its a test server it doesn't reflect the most updated version of the game.

The bugs that the community found, they already noticed themselves and fixed them. The community can always find even more bugs then a test team can find.
1 -
Who’s to say new bugs don’t exist after their changes?
1 -
Because BHVR only believes in releasing updates on Tuesdays

But, if I was test driving a Honda Civic and they gave me a Nissan 350z at the end, wouldn't I be better off? If the new Blight turns out to be waaaay better than the one in the PTB, then we still come out ahead!

Dam dude, you're really annoying. Get a job, then you will understand why.
@Lazerboy88 Because if they did it on a Friday and things went wrong they would sacrifice their weekend to fix things out.
1 -
Not if the Nissan 350z was damaged in some way, but we didn't know about it because we didn't get to test it.
2 -
True, true. But I'm also a "glass half full" kinda guy :)

That’s a weird leap, I do indeed have a job. In regards to releasing it on Friday this version was done BEFORE Tuesday according to their own streamer... so on Tuesday that had to decide to release version 1.0 or 1.1 and they decided on 1.0 I wonder what job you have that that would make sense at?
This guy gets it, now we find out the Nissan has airbags that don’t work so it needs recalled and we’re an extra two weeks without a working car.
See my above comment, the new version was ready Tuesday... why did they choose at that time to release the old one?
1 -
you do realise the PTB has changed more than just adding one killer, right?
This is a substantial PTB with many changes.

You do realize the way their coding works any changes to the release, killer or otherwise, could cause bugs in other ways. Changing the way the Blight charges could inadvertently impact Bubba or billy for example. Shouldn’t that be tested too?
I love how people complain about the hill bug but are for some reason okay with the devs not testing the most up to date version of the game before releasing it. I assume if the patch hits and your character gets stuck on a hook for half an hour and you are forced to DC to get out of the game you will not mind or complain about the DC penalty?

I know I was just making a joke, they do seem to only do things on Tuesday tho
1 -
I hate when I miss jokes on the forums, would’ve gotten it in person :-)
I do know they usually prefer not to do things on the weekend or holidays but it seems odd if this version was already ready on Tuesday they didn’t give it to us
0 -
Still, its funny to me idk why they only believe in Tuesday for update release days
1 -
I must have missed where they said they were going to release the PTB with changes without testing. Can you link me to the tweet/post where they said that?
0 -
were testing the perk only not the new killer
0 -
I never said they said that, please point out where I did? I simply asked if both versions were ready Tuesday why was the older version released?
In regards to a tweet about it being ready that’s would have been on his stream when he was playing as the killer.
1 -
If it was ready wouldnt they release it? I think its rather obvious that it is in fact not ready.
You said "Shouldn’t that [Blight changes] be tested too?". This sentence would imply that the aforementioned changes would not likely be tested. I merely clarified that they would not release changes without testing, and asked for you to support evidence of any claims which state otherwise.

My job? Software developer.
If version 1.0 its more stable then 1.1, they will go on pushing the 1.0 to the test server.
You have no other option then wait.
