Because they were created for old Freddy, a Killer who was inmensely strong once the 5 gens were done since you opened doors 50% slower while asleep and once all 4 Survivors were sleep and gens done there was no way to wake up, only while selfhealing or healing others. A build with Remember Me, Fire Up, NOED and Blood Warden with 4 people slept was super strong if you managed to pull it as people had more trouble opening the door than finishing the gens.
Freddy got changed so that build and perks lost a lot of appeal and potential.

I despise people 99ing doors. Just open the darn doors.
I can't explain how many times I got killed because of others 99ing doors and not being at the doors to open them.
Adding regression to a door would be good and make these idiots open the doors more.
Stop trying to make the game an extra 10mins because you wanna save your friend.
Also who cares if the killer has Bloodwarden... It last literally 60secs. Plus there's a very low chance every killer you play will actually have the perk people!

It still proves my point, regardless of how strong they were on Freddy or how weak they are now. They still exist and that there was an attempt to use the gates as a form of pressure.
They even nerfed remember me instead of reworking it so they still want gate pressure in the game even if it is quite weak.

It proves they WANTED pressure on the doors but they dont want it anymore.
Remember me got nerfed because how interacted with the new Hatch closing mechanic not with the 5gen Exit Gate opening. With new version its very hard to open the doors once the hatch closed, with the older version it would be impossible.

If it was up to me regression wouldn't go past 75% so at most 5 additional seconds to open gates. More if killer has remember me.
No regression for sole survivor.
Move exit gates to opposite sides of map...at the very least the killer shouldn't be able to see both exits from one location.
Maybe add a second switch on either side so trapper can't leave the survivor with a no win situation as easily.

But those perks still exist and still do what they originally sought out to do even if it isn't as effective.
Remember me still delays the gates opening, bloodwarden still blocks the exit, wake up still increases the speed of opening exit gates.

The problem i have with gate regression is that it won't be 1:1 but some way lower number that makes it not worth it like base gen regression

Because its easier to make them useless than to rework them alltogether, this way they get rid of something they dont want with minimal effort.

Every killer is good in their own way. Clown included. Even though hes not as good as others, a good clown can consistently win. I run d's to make plays in endgame. Get hooked, get saved, someone else gets hooked, 1 for 1, ds the killer, and get out.

That's simply your interpretation. They didn't do anything to actively make bloodwarden or wakeup weaker then their original design. And like you said remember me still makes it very difficult to open gates for the sole survivor so it's still far from useless.
In fact you can still do some dirty builds with it.

No. It wouldnt. You open the gate right away, and then leave. Done. Easy. If you decide to LEAVE the objective, then you get punished for it. And survivors havent even finished their objective yet. The objective is to open the gates after the generators. Survivors have been spoon fed easy wins ever since this game came out.

Also why should the last survivor be 99ing the gates? Why is that a thing? Why would you 99 the gate? BM? Stupidity?

Exit gates regressing is about survivors not being 100% secure in anything they try in the end game, because it's impossible not to reach the exit safely faster than most killers can land 2 hits.
Opening the gate is almost always a surrender button for killers, as it means they aren't near a hooked survivor, who is now unhooked and going out the other gate, which was 99ed.

I love how killers are allowed to slug to avoid DS and that's a perfectly okay tactic, but 99ing the gates to avoid blood warden isn't allowed.

The problem that occurs in this game is you have someone pick it up with 3 months of experience, and have no understanding for the history of the game. Thinking 99 gates is a problem? 😂. Try survivors opening gates with no EGC taking the game hostage. Try instaheals (1 and 2 health states). Try having to dribble survivors. Try super slow vault and hook animations.

There's usually games where survivors will do anything to save and they just end up getting yoinked off the hook save or downed by a instadown killer or a killer with noed extending the game even more because the killer will leave them down and wait till the survivor on the hook is dead and now we're on repeat doing the same thing again.
Some players need to understand it's ok sacrificing one player instead of playing into the killers hand and giving them more kills.

Why 99%?
1) Killer slug or camping and injured team need more time for heal and sync.
2) Blood warden counterplay.
So you want counterplay to counterplay? Hey I have no problem to open 100% and go, but remove cowardly mechanics. There are no reason to switch score from survival strongly dominating match to loss because killer blocked open gates for everyone for 60s. ;)

What happened to this thread? There were so many really insightful responses that are gone. Even two of my posts are gone and they were not against the rules. I'm just curious what in the world happened! This is the only Community I visit where things get deleted without a mod note At least post a reply saying we cleaned up this topic because of so and so.
