Cross-play doesn't help ranking at all.

I don't believe that was the goal of crossplay. Maybe they hoped that with increasing numbers at all individual ranks, the system would be able to put them together but I think the algorithm itself is broken because of qol patch or something.

That's what the MMR was supposed to fix but that algorithm had its own problems, working for only a few to half of the community. (Saw posts praising and damning the MMR alike)

Yeah I do hope that they manage to fix the MMR because while it wasn't perfect, it was better than this. But probably its biggest advantage was the fact that each killer was ranked differently based on how much you played with them, which made tackling a new killer a lot easier.

But with matches being put together based on your rank, you would think that now that the game has a much larger pool of players to pull from thanks to cross-play, that you would see matches a little bit more even. Sadly though, it's worse then ever.

Again I think the whole population of earth could play right now and it would not work since the algorithm/programpart that matches people together seems to be broken.

And about the individual killer MMR. They have to implement some sort of rubber band effect for never played killer per player.

I play this game randomly killer only but even if I pick a new killer, I still know the maps, perks, strategies and so on and when MMR sets me up with new players because my MMR on this new killer is low then I am going to slaughter them and noone will have fun, me included.

I think that Cross-Play should improve the queue times, not the ranks.

That depends on region, daytime and role. I think not many killer opted in from console. Also I think most platforms had a surplus in survivor, atleast I read on this forum that wait times for survivor on PS4 were horrendous.

I can only speak for pc in eu on Killerside:

    Before:

Long in the afternoon, fast in the evening/at night

    After:

    Better overall

I mean its not worse than ever. It was always this broken nothings changed there. While playing survivor I sometimes get"the rainbow squad". Rank 16(Yellow), 10(green), 8(Purple) and me 3(Red). Vs a Rank 1 killer. This happens a lot. If not for the rank 20's (in other words, newbies) getting slaughtered I would have been angry that they removed mmr. Its a shame they turned on Crossplay because honestly it would have worked a lot better with MMR. I have seen a lot of people turning crossplay off because they just dont want to play with and against PC players because they think PC is better than console (In regards to how strong killers are, they are kind of right. Considering playing killer on controller can be a pain, but not enough to warrant dropping cross-play). Or think that a 30 fps vs 60 matters in 99% of cases.

Now for those saying that the huge frame drops console players are getting were the reasons. Fair enough, go nuts.

I play on PS4, and I can confirm that survivor wait times are indeed abysmal! Cross-play has helped to shave a few minutes off of that, but the queue times are still 7 minutes or longer for my region (CST) in the evenings.
