Moris and a possible Nerf
Ive been mori'd many times, only once did I have fun. That time was when I was mori'd by the gates at endgame. Blaming myself for not being able to get out, and having ample time to do so since all gens had been completed.
So a possible nerf could be a delay as to when you can use it.
Here are some possible nerfs:
1. Moris only activate during EGC
2. Moris only activate when there is one gen left.
3. Moris only activate when a survivor has kited for 60 seconds.
4. Moris only activate when the gates can be opened.
All these nerfs are to expand the amount of time survivors spend in match.
Quick Note: I haven't ever used moris, I've only ever used Devour Hope on bots so I don't have any experience with this because I know its unfun to play against.

i agree mori isn't really fun anyway as killer the chase is fun if i'm being honest.

Exactly why I dont use it.

I'm actually confused what is the point of a mori how do people enjoy moris they are a waste of time and they are kinda toxic too if i'm being honest.
1 -
They're not toxic, theyre a tool killers can use that isnt very fun when going agaisnt it.
1 -
Mori makes it easier to get 4k

mori suck but I don't try use them much.

"All these nerfs are to expand the amount of time survivors spend in match."
Games last 5 mins.

Sorry? Games typically last 10 minutes for me, and moris can cut that down tremendously. I have fun when Ive been in the match for a long time, even if I do get mori'd.

i cant remember how many years ago did i have game longer then 5 minutes
3 -
Oh, well. Wish you longer matches? If you want them???

If I bring an Ebony Mori I'm giving myself a to-do list, because I know how Moris can tip the scales so much in a regular match.
1. Always Mori on Death hook (with the exception if they're pumping out gens a little too fast then I'll Mori someone who's Mori-able to even the odds if they have two gens left chances are still tipped on their side but with the lost of a teammate it'll add pressure of that they have to play their next moves wisely. After that first Mori everyone is treated with death hook kills.)
2. Always go after the rescuer. Never the recently unhooked survivor.
3. If the last person doesn't wiggle they get hatch. 3 warnings max. (Maybe a few more warnings after because I want to show them that I mean well.)

There is nothing wrong with the Mori. They have been part of the game and theme for a LONG time and they haven't broken anything. Removing the threat of a quick death reduces the game to brutal, tedious math, i.e. counting hooks, Pac Man with different skins. No thank you.
1 -
Bleeding out when in dying state, and killed by ph cages would still exist, so it wouldn't be only hooks
1 -
Yes, but survivors that aren´t moried before will spend time at the exit gate teabagging, therefore expanding their time in the game.
3 -
So basicly, you follow rules about moris unless you are going to lose, then you use the mori anyway to "even the odds".
With other words, your "to-do-list" means nothing.

Alternative fix mori's work on death hook. They save you time hooking and can be used to bypass obnoxious perks/equipment. Also whenever the mori comes up its generally important to bring up it's counterpart the key. They hatch only spawns when all gens are done or all survivors except 1 are killed. Both are items that end the game fast both should have there power weakened.

And those are slow and tedious. At least the Mori is quick. My point is the Mori is a necessary tool because it puts pressure on SWF so they can be pushed off Gens. When you know you can die after a single hook, nobody does the superman and stays on the generator taking hits just to get going.
I've noticed that when I take a Mori (even when I don't use it) I don't run into a room with three people working on a Generator only to have all three just keep right on working ignoring me. When I don't have the Mori that is EXACTLY what they do. They know they have so many hooks left and powering through this Gen is more important. That is the kind of math I'm talking about. The Mori prevents that.

Mori offerings in their current form are OP and should be nerfed. If SWF teams are a problem, the solution shouldn't be an OP item that can be used on everyone and not just SWFs. That just results in both things being a problem.
3 -
Except that the Mori has been around a LLLLOOOOOONNNNNGGG time and hasn't proven to be OP. Long and the short of it is, don't fix what ain't broken.

Moris should only activate when the killer either gets 5 hooks OR 4 gens are completed.

hasn't proven to be OP
Sure they have. That's why both Killer and Survivor mains talk about how Moris are OP. That's also why they're being fixed for being broken. 😋

match lenght is never on me, its always gen speeds

I'm going to be frank with you (Legion pun, sorry) it only happened either once or twice where I could Mori whoever I found first. After that I sort of dropped it, but at the same time I just preferred on being honest about that portion of the old routine since I'm no saint I won't make it seem like I was perfect in what my new hotfix version of what my new rules/to-do list are currently.
At this point I might as well just post what I did before instead of sharing the new version of the rules. Either way there was a time where using a Mori for me felt dirty or at least feel bad the most parts of me just wants to see a cool little animation from time to time.
But now at this point I've seen all the animations and such, so when I throw one on I'm going to do death hook Mori and let the last guy go. Hell I've seen the same animation over and over the course of the trial, so it'll probably end with me being tired and just letting the last two go.

That should just be the automatic mechanic Mori’s go by. Otherwise killers will just immediately use it for a 4K and game is over within minutes

We're not talking about keys, we're talking about moris.
1 -
Both are equal issues closing a game early and giving an unfair advantage to one side. Even a developer noted that keys would be seeing changes in a previous post just like this when the topic was focused on mori's.

Whether or not they are equal or not is irrelevant: It's a logical fallacy to bring up keys when moris are being discussed because it is an attempt to draw attention away from moris.
It's called whataboutism, which itself is a casual usage of the "tu quoque" fallacy.
If you want to talk about keys and moris, feel free to start up a discussion entitled "keys and moris both need a nerf, and here's why."
2 -
"Whataboutism" for christ's sake. Sounds like a fancy way to shutdown a conversation. A balance need to be scaled. Give and take both are elements that share similar issues and require adjustments. You don't evaluate items in isolation you compare and examine other perks items and counters. By your logic this forum post should only be about the mori. Not how it play with other killers or how survivor can interact with it. Its a purist vision that create imbalances since you aren't acknowledging its rival factors. You don't judge a killer at his base against other base survivor's you measure them both and find a compromise.
It looks really bad when you condemn a mechanic for accelerating a game and giving an unfair advantage and not recognize it opposing counterparts. How doe this term of "whataboutism" contribute to a healthier game it rude and disingenuous. Again the discussion is centered on mori's which are largely hated for accelerating games and bypasses existing sacrifice conditions if you cant see a keys parallels or simply chose not to see then that's your prerogative.

My game crashes on the loading screen every time there's a mori :)

In my opinion, moris are needed to balance things like swf, which have a very unfair advantage over both solo survivors and killers. I doubt a nerfed mori would help vs swf, but i think that is the goal.

I think that is an issue that can easily be solved by making all offerings secret.

Nerf mories first.

After swf is balanced.
