Perk Changes | Any Means Necessary

I have a few ideas on how to buff Any Means Necessary.

The first idea is to just simply reduce it's cooldown.

  • Reduced the cooldown to 60/50/40 seconds. (From painful 140/130/120 seconds)

With this change it could probably be used more than once in a match!

The second idea is to make a Token system for it.

  • Start the Trial with 3/4/5 Tokens.
  • Each time you pick up a Pallet a Token is consumed.
  • Removed the cooldown.

Now you have limited uses of Any Means Necessary, so you would need to think which Pallets are more useful than others. Also no cooldown.

And a few smaller ideas.

  • Revert it's resetting speed to 3 seconds. (From 4 seconds)

It wasn't an issue in the PTB so I have no clue why it was nerfed.

  • Any Means Necessary should award Blood Points for resetting a Pallet, around 200 BPs should be enough.

Since you get 200 BPs for throwing down a Pallet while in a chase, so I thought resetting a Pallet should give the same amount, or maybe even more!

What's the problem with the 4 seconds? The thing is that you should not be able to do this during a chase, and outside a chase it makes no difference if it takes 3 or 4 seconds.

Token based would work I guess

I’m fine with any of these changes. I use the perk regularly, and it comes in handy quite a lot, except that sometimes it’ll feel like half the match has passed before the perk goes off cooldown.

I agree with slashing the cooldown and lowering the activation time. I would not want a token system, as the perk is already so situational.

I'd prefer to keep everything the same except for reducing the cooldown. I think 40 seconds is probably too short, but maybe 60 seconds would be okay. 120 seconds is definitely a huge amount of time. I usually only get to stand up like 1-2 pallets a game as is, and they tend to be unsafe pallets because killers usually break safe pallets. That's a really weak effect for something taking up a perk slot.

Over my many matches using the perk I have stood up the god pallet two or three times, though, which feels so amazing :D

I like the first idea, might actually see people using the perk more often if the cooldown wasn't so long.

I think the reason it takes 4 seconds to complete the action is to prevent people potentially double stunning the killer, could be wrong but if a stun duration is 3 seconds and the action duration is 3 seconds that would happen right?

The reset pallet could have an aura(just for you at least, but maybe for the team too) while it's up so you know if it's been used or not and for looping information.

Reducing the cooldown and speeding it up would be great.

Great suggestions. I love the idea of this perk, but I never use it because of that dreadful cooldown. Also because I have no idea if there is an unbroken pallet on the map. Maybe if the added an aura reading ability, like window of opportunity, I've would have use it a lot more often.

On top of that, there's also that animation to actually setup the pallet.

All great ideas. Especially reverting the reset time.

The nerf from PTB to live was a fine example of the over-balancing that has gutted most Survivor perks over the last three years on arrival.
