More Madness: Survivor Illusions
I know most people find it annoying to face the Doctor, but the idea behind Madness is to waste the survivor's time, so here are some ideas I had that could further mess with survivor's minds. NOTE: not all of these ideas need to happen. These ideas can either be rejected or improved upon.
- Madness could affect the survivor portraits. To further fool the survivor, the portraits displaying the status of each survivor may be changed to support these new illusions. Upon realization of the illusion or return to sanity, the portraits return to normal.
- Fake downed survivors. In a very similar way the survivor can see Doctor Illusions, survivors with sufficient Madness may see a survivor getting downed somewhere on the map.
- Fake hooked survivors. See an illusion of a survivor hooked.
- Fake healing survivors. See an illusion of a survivor healing you (with the status bar).
- Fake repairing survivors. See an illusion of a survivor repairing a generator, but no progress is made. Repairing "with them" will show there is the increased speed, but not in reality. The fake survivors can also "fail" a skill check to make it look like the generator exploded, when it actually didn't.

All of the above sound pretty amazing except for the healing one. The only issue I have is that madness II is currently too easy to get into, and having all of these effects apply in the early game is probably both oppressive and daunting. Therefore, madness should become harder to apply but yeild a greater reward.2

These could make for neat Ultra Rare add-ons, but not as default mechanics.

This is really cool and would love to see this in the game.

That suggestion is cool but change 1, 2 and 3 will only nerf solo survivors because SWF survivors can communicate.
Relating the other two changes, as i understand you want to let it look like you getting healed but how do you want to do that? the seconds thing is, its not the purpose to "force" the survivors .. the purpose is to let the ->real<- person think that's real.0 -
