Tunneling

You’d think that tunneling would come about less and less as you increase in ranks due to people realising its a cheap and PoS way to play. But no, it actually increases with rank.

I did a little something something because I wanted to see how much people actually tunneled.

I first played 10 rounds as my red ranked surv, here are the findings:

8 killers tunneled

1 killers didn’t

1 killer memed

I then went into my smurf account and played 10 games at a yellow rank, these are the results:

3 killers tunneled

5 killers didn’t

2 killers memed

In conclusion higher ranked killers are a$$holes. Thank you.

P.S

This whole post is a joke but also not a joke I was just curious as to when killers tend to start playing “toxic”.

I mean, I think tunneling is a problem in the sense that you'll probably never get better if you keep doing it, with that being said, if a killer wants to tunnel, they're going to tunnel and that's all there is to it.

Toxicity is thrown around far too often, tunneling is annoying but I wouldn't put it anywhere on a scale of toxicity.

"I was just curious as to when killers tend to start playing 'toxic' "

    The answer is quite simple.

If you play toxic, I play toxic too.

Usually I never play toxic unless they force me.

It's up to them if the killer will play toxic, or not.

They're might be a reason why a survivor is being "tunneled".

If a survivor finds themselves at red ranks, but don't even understand simple basics of looping then they're going to get focused by the killer. The survivor has only themselves to blame.

If you're a survivor main and you find yourself getting tunneled at high ranks, it might be a sign that you need to get better at looping. Because an experienced killer is going to bother chasing a strong survivor at a strong set up. The killer is going to focus on the survivor that plays like a baby Meg.

Also tunneling is often thrown around a lot even when the killer isn't tunneling.

    • If the killer has hooked different survivors in a row, the killer isn't tunneling
    • If the killer has chased different survivors, the killer isn't tunneling
    • If the unhooked survivor runs into the killer, gets downed due to their own stupidity that isn't tunneling
    • If the unhooked survivor immediately jumps on a generator in the killer's face, that isn't tunneling

When I play killer, I always try and go after the unhooker if the survivor is unhooked when i'm close by. However, often the unhooker will go stealthy or will run to incredibly strong set up, both leaving the unhooked survivor exposed and vulnerable. The killer in that situation has no choice but to down the unhooked survivor.

P.S Sorry if they're any grammar issues, I was writing this in between queuing for games.

I feel like tunneling is usually a panic response. Killers who tunnel have a pretty good chance of doing it because they feel pressured that they are losing control of the match. I understand that all too well, when you’re stressed out or panicking you can’t always think straight, in these cases the killer quickly resorts to the easiest and simplest solution, go for the one who is already injured.

Playing killer is quite stressful once you get in the top 10. I’d say a little too stressful. I avoid tunneling as best I can but sometimes the urge to down the same person to get control of the match back is there, I don’t act on it though out of sportsmanship. Sometimes however, it’s coincidence that I find the same person who was the most previously unhooked, and to that I say, nothing personal.

But stressed out killers are a whole different topic entirely and I don’t want to derail this post.
