New Graphics and FPS
Hi,
I've just played my first game of the new chapter with the Blight, but I've got a problem. My computer can't handle the graphics.
I've got just over 550 hours in the game, and DBD is my favourite game of the decade, but I'm only getting around 10 Frames Per Second (FPS), where as before I was getting about 25 FPS with the occasional spike below 20, which was manageable.
My graphics are already on the lowest quality, is there any way to change the graphics back to how they were before this update? or make the graphics even less intense on my computer? Or do I have to upgrade my computer or buy a new computer to continue playing?
Thanks, ScorpioGuy

Umh you can try to lower the screen resolution. It's in the game's files

what are your PC propperties? also, this update improved them for me.

Unfortunately it is time for an upgrade. The graphics are game assets and it would glitch out horribly to allow different players to use different assets. You may be able to get away with just an upgraded video card, but it may be hard to find a good one that fits your board

I don't know myself, I paid a total of £70 for my computer, and that was just for a second hand graphics card, I've pretty much scavenged everything from friends in university. It's time for an upgrade.
Yeah, it's looking like that, thanks for your insight!

Uuuh that ammount of money is really poor for a gaming PC, so your computer is not even designed for gaming

It wasn't designed as a gaming PC, it was just "Here's what we have, lets throw it together". being a student doesn't leave you with much money on the side -_-

my point is that you shouldn't be surprised and point out here bad fps when your PC is not for gaming

You're right, but I can't be the only one with this problem, I'm sure it's affected a few people.
A part of being a developer is deciding whether you sacrifice a few customers for higher quality graphics, which might be what they've done with the new update, I was just hoping they had a solution on how to make it so even those with worse set-ups could still play, but if not then that's that.

I have a decent gaming rig, Midwich was the first map to have stuttering, I thought it was just a fluke because this map is highly-details and just needed some tuning to get it working correctly. Certain parts of Midwich cause a FPS drop. Now with the new Yamoka and Springwood, the game has a lot more moments where the world is struggling to render in real time.
I was hoping all these new assets would mean that they would look better and be optimized, but that's not the case. Really, this was their chance to optimize their asset database as they are going through every single asset and giving it a graphical overhaul. If not now, then it's too late. While the newer graphics and animations look amazing, I don't know if that is a good thing now. When the time comes to do a graphical pass on MacMillian, Autohaven and Coldwind, the maps will look better, but will perform even worse.
