I played some killer today and noticed that survivors would sometimes stop leaving scratch marks for a few seconds.
This happened mid chase they just ran in a straight line and stopped leaving scratch marks for a few seconds is this a bug or something?
(Edit: They didn't had perks to get rid of scratch marks.)

Did you check at the end of the game if there were any perks used to get rid of scratch marks? Theses perks are rarely used but they exist. If it happens consistently, it's a bug or scratch marks are being consistently stupid for you.
