Noob question about hatch
This may sound so dumb but how do you prevent a survivor from taking the hatch when you are both on it when it opens? Can you still close it? Because when the survivor is downed they can still take it.

You can't really do anything but spam the close hatch button and hope that you close it first. If the survivor gets it, they get it.

So basically when a survivor and killer both know where the hatch is and are there at the same time, the survivor will probably escape?

If you stand on the lock, they cannot leave and you can close it. Otherwise, they get out for free because otherwise people would just give up and make the game boring after 1 or 2 kills, depending on the death-to-gen ratio.
That came off a little more aggressive than I'd like but the point stands.

It's honestly a 50/50 chance, and it sucks tbh

Honestly?
Literally never seen a survivor escape if you are both on top of it and the killer is mashing the close hatch button.

Nope. If you're standing on hatch they can't escape. Even if you're NOT standing directly atop it if you mash the 'close' button you'll always close it before they escape.

Thanks for the answers! I didn't know how it worked before.
