Just Played As Freddy For The First Time

at rank 2 even without perks I did just fine. I think I want to buy him. He’s so fun.

He is absolutely fun, usually i sleep and ignore the first survivor which gets the game rolling.

His ability is extremely fun but i understand how a base 7 seconds to sleep is a hinderance.  Cant wait for his makeover

Nice to find someone else who think's he's fun.

Can't wait for Freddys upcoming rework. It's going to be a blast relearning him.

I like the way he is right now personally. I like pulling people into the dream world, everyone starts vaulting windows and throwing pallets like crazy and it’s fantastic that I can just walk alongside them, and then change to the other
side, and it catches them off guard. I love he mindgame.

I like using Whispers on him.
When it lights up start spamming the 'power' all around. Quite often I put someone to sleep I didn't even know was there.

Especially when using the pill bottle survivors don't even know what's about to happen  :)

You can try his Haunted Lullaby build, i won quite a few games with it.

For addons you can take power range, dresses for skillchecks or Class Photo.

For Perks its Hex Lullaby and Haunted Grounds, the others are up to you.

In the early game try to prioritize sleeping and annoying survivors in the early game, chase and drop, get some hits and maybe break a few pallets, make sure you get to know their locations and behavior.

Once survivors realize you have Lullaby and have to fail skillchecks frequently to stay awake at an extra penalty. They will get frustrated and go for the totem. Now there is a 2/3 chance they trigger Haunted Grounds.

I dont need to say what happens when survivors give a Killer that has innate aura reading and specializes in hit and run tactics free one shots.

Yaay, we can now welcome another sweater boi main!!! Tip time: if you have someone hooked and down someone leave them there then you'll have 2 people coming to rescue which means no one is doing gens

Freddy isnt nearly as bad as many say he is. I'd say he is overall better than LF and Spirit.

You just need to stop playing him as a normal Killer cause he isnt. Skilled Freddys know how to balance disruption and hooks.

The only time I have fun with him is with Class Photo and a dream transition reduction. I love when survivors hide behind a tree 5 feet away and think I won't see them ;)

Just an fyi survivors always know you have lullaby. Even with no stacks once they get a skill check fail or success they get alerted to it. Kinda dumb in my opinion and I think everyone else shares the same view

    Evil Freddy builds:

CLASS REUNION: Remember Me, Rancor, Blood Warden, NOED, Class Photo, Black Box, Shroud of Separation- just literally chase the obsession all game until the gates power and kill them. Don't even hook them, just let them DS you or pick up/drop them to chase them more. You should be trying to get rid of as many pallets as you can. Patrol the gates/totem until you find someone, then go around and sleep the other 2. Once they are are all asleep, slug them with NOED and take the hooks once they are all down. SoS is to scare them into thinking you have a mori (since it's a secret offering) and prevents the obsession from waking up before you start chasing them.Note that while I hate NOED I use it here because it's "end game" though you could swap it out with Kncokout and this build would be just as effective. Once the obsession is dead and all the gens are done, as long as the survivors aren't injured it's impossible to wake up. RM adds 30 seconds to the door, and DW doubles the time effectively making it take 100 seconds to open a door. You have plenty of time to go around and 2 hit everyone.

DREAM CATCHER: Dying Light, PWYF, Haunted Grounds, Ruin, Class Photo, Z Block, green/pink mori - Another obsession based build... use CP to find the obsession then tunnel them to death. Ruin is there to give you time, HG is there to protect Ruin and help you catch the obsession faster, and PWYF is to stop looping obsessions from leading you around too long. Z Block counters the +2s transition penalty of CP, you look like a normal Freddy. Once you hook the obsession WALK AWAY so they get saved, then come back and get them. Bring a mori to make it easier, but it can be done without one. If you kill the obsession and they have anything more than 3 gens you basically win the game. CP makes it impossible to hide, just sleep them all every time so they can never finish a gen and wait for mistakes to chase. DL + DW + possible Ruin = complete gen lockdown.

ENTER SANDMAN: BBQ, Ruin, STBFL, Nurse's Calling, stacked blocks - The "standard" Freddy build that is just good all around. Very straightforward, you are mostly playing like a normal killer. STBFL is really great on Freddy because it helps in a chase so much. NC is one of the best aura perks for Freddy because it's range is farther than his lullaby, so you always catch people healing.

I main him at rank 1, he's fun. While I am looking forward to his changes they have me very worried. I want his blaring problems fixed, not a complete change to how he plays.

YES EXACTLY!!! Everyone wants him to be a completely different character, I just want his biggest drawbacks fixed. It's so simple...
    1) Dream Demon forces you out of all actions (except vault/pallet drop) so that you can actually defend a gen/totem/gate or stop someone from healing the dude on the ground right in your face and pick them up.
    2) Invert skill checks so that the size of success and fail zones are swapped. This makes it harder to wake up since in order to fail a skill check you basically have to succeed the skill check. Great zones stay the same size. No more just spamming the button to wake up.
    3) DW needs to be less dark/grey with normal amounts of fog. This helps both Freddy and survivors.
    4) Allow survivor aura perks to work against Freddy when awake. This makes him easier to track and stealth for survivors. Rancor, however, should not reveal his aura unless the obsession is asleep, only because it's a really nice interaction between his power and Rancor that he can take advantage of (and it being a killer perk, it should be immune to the change).
    5) After being put to sleep the first time, awake survivors should see flashes of Freddy like they would in transition but very VERY rarely. It'd make him a bit easier to track and avoid when you are awake. Pill Bottle would remove this entirely like it does for transitions.
    6) The outer 6m of his lullaby should be directional, again to make him easier to track and stealth as survivor. I can totally understand that he isn't fun to play against because he is invisible, and if he got the right buffs (like #1 and #2) then I'm totally okay with survivors being able to track me better.

Licensed killers are the most fun to play as in this game.

I hate playing against Freddy. I mean, I really want them to fix his crippling dependency on RNG for his effectiveness, but holy ######### could they finally fix his broken lullaby and make him visible outside of the dream in some way in his rework?

remember that you always get the failed skill check reduction penalty from the start.

You guys are lucky. When i used freddy for the 3rd time it was during the so called fix of the flashlight and plank saves and i was bullied so hard because of it.

And now nevermore i will touch him.

Wow, I have only had ######### matches with Freddy, I remember using a splinter to play him for the first time, and being bullied so hard, even though it was a 3 man. I then bought his DLC because it was on sale (humblebundle) and get daillies frequently with him, but I still haven't ever won a game with him.
