No Mither and Unbreakable
A few days ago I was really thinking about how strong it is for a survivor to have the ability to pick themselves up off the ground. Currently there's two perks (that I know of) that give you that ability, No Mither and Unbreakable. For the longest time No Mither has been seen as one of the worst perks in the game because it's one downside is too harsh for the upsides to really take effect while Unbreakable is the exact opposite, no downsides at all for such a strong ability other than only being able to use it once.
To make No Mither more viable and Unbreakable less powerful, here's what I've come up with, someone else might have had the same idea so I apologize if I'm just regurgitating what others may have said.
No Mither- Instead of starting the trail injured and broken, you start the trail healthy. Once downed, you have the ability to pick yourself up at the normal recovery rate. Once you pick yourself up, then you are broken and can't heal for the rest of the match, but you still have the ability to pick yourself up again unlike Unbreakable where it disables. You still keep the "no blood pools" thing but with that I'd also add a 50% quieter moaning to compliment the non existent blood pools and actually help with that slight bit of stealth. Another thing would be to have the broken status effect symbol appear only on the survivor's side so smart killers won't automatically know this person has the ability to pick themselves up again.
Unbreakable- Now, this perk is much simpler than No Mither, which makes it easier to nerf too. A simple change I'd make to this is to get rid of the ability to pick yourself up all together while retaining the faster recovery rate, for two reasons.
Reason 1, Bill is from L4D, I have played L4D and you do not have the ability to pick yourself up off the ground when you get downed in that game, so why can he do it in DBD?
Reason 2, you cannot tell me that having the ability to pick yourself up off the ground at a 25% faster recovery rate and still being able to heal for the rest of the match is in any way fair. The only thing that people can argue is that you can only use unbreakable once, but with the ability to heal and play normally right after really makes it so only need to use it once. And don't get me started on it's stupidly powerful synergy with Decisive Strike and Soul Guard.
This community has a hard time accepting change, whenever a new chapter comes out everyone automatically calls the killer OP because they haven't figured out how to play against them yet. So for something as powerful as Unbreakable to get nerfed as hard as I'm saying it should isn't gonna be met with a positive response, I just want to hear everyone else's opinion, because that's all this is, my opinion.

Seems pretty balanced but the unbreakable nerd would just make it useless

I thought of that as well while typing this out, and that wasn't my first thought either. Originally I was gonna say make it so you recover 25% SLOWER since you can still play the game normally right after picking yourself up. Also, with the longer recovery time, you wouldn't have as much time on your Decisive Strike timer if you're THAT guy.

Dunno im fine with unbreakable (its a 1 time use). The problem is the combinations of DS/BT + unbreakable. And ofc that games end near the 5min marks.
7 -
Honestly don't get why Unbreakable is considered so strong. It's an anti-slugger perk that works once a game... meaning you'll get zero value if the killer just tries to hook you. I prefer perks that have smaller but guaranteed results every game.
No Mither is a huge gamble and is fine as it is.
8 -
Cuz you cant pick em up cuz they also have DS? So you let em on the ground and use unbreakable or pick em up and they DS you and you never know what they have.
3 -
Aight yall are forgetting Soul Guard, allowing you to pick yourself up provided you're cursed by a hex.
7 -
My idea on Unbreakable is if player decide to pick up, they will also lose 35% recovery speed. Your Nomither is exactly the same to what other people think.

Slugging is a mandatory strategy for killers when going against coordinated survivors. However, slugging CAN be abused when the killer never picks anyone up and is just trying to annoy the survivors. Though Unbreakable punishes the honest slugging as well as the scummy slugging. So, maybe Unbreakable will only activate once another survivor is down as well as you? Also, No Mither is far from fine how it is, it's a terrible perk people only use for the memes.

soul guard is another pick yourself up perk as long as there is an active hex.
I've thought no mither should at least start the trial healthy, so I agree there, but hiding the broken status from the killer would not go over well. otherwise making it so that you are only broken once you pick yourself up would be fine. I think UB is fine where it is, but I agree using any combo of pick yourself up and DS is pretty broken.
I'm actually a little surprised that soul guard hasn't become a bit more Meta now that undying is out

Yeah, I had a feeling I was forgetting something, though Soul Guard gets a bit of slack because it can be broken if survivors cleanse.

My main idea with nerfing Unbreakable is to make No Mither more viable because, if Unbreakable were to stay as is, No Mither would still be overshadowed by it.

That's fair. When I play survivor, I actually don't run DS either, since most killers just seem to give me the benefit of running them and act like I have it.
It's a weird meta where if you don't run DS, unbreakable or DH, it's like having 7 perks... because the killer won't take the hit the first time he thinks he can, expecting a dead hard out of me, then refuse to hook me after 1st hook because he thinks I have DS and another survivor just taps me for a second or two and brings me back after I near fully charge the bar, removing the need for unbreakable.

that could work

Exactly. You get a very strong effect but because of that the killer gets a very strong perk. It's a fine balancing choice imo.

No Mither being bad is intentional, its supposed to be survivor hard mode, the downsides are supposed to outweigh the upsides.
0 -
If you look at it that way, sure. I'm not saying No Mither should become a meta perk, it just needs a little boost much like a bunch of other bad survivor perks like Autodidact, Boil Over, and pretty much all of Ash's perks, yes, even Mettle of Man.

They're fine.

Ive been running soul guard and its helped so much. I cannot tell you how many times the killer had slugged everyone and ive gotten the team back on their feet
1 -
Now, I'm not sure if you're a killer or survivor main, but as a killer main...
I very much like your idea for No Mither. However, I think that Unbreakable should NOT be nerfed.
WHY does it need nerfed? Because it stops you from guaranteeing a 4k by slugging?
I don't understand all the people wanting survivor nerfs? I started as killer a few months after this game came out, and it is more balanced than it has EVER been.
I see that your idea is to truly BUFF No Mither, and I think that's a great idea. But nerfing Unbreakable?
Let's stop discussing the nerfing of perfectly balanced perks, and keep our focus on how unbalanced some of the MAPS are. The Game is completely unbalanced in killer favor, while Ormond is unbalanced in survivor favor.
I'd rather face a 4 man SwF with DS and Unbreakable on The Game, than solo queue players with mediocre perks on Ormond.

The solution is to nerf No Mither. Its OP because unlike Unbreakable it can be done unlimited times like #########.

Please forum gods tell me this person is ######### joking. Because no mither has a hefty down side of being unable to heal the entire match, so things like thana are hell for them since its a 4 percent decrease all the time until the no mither player is killed
0 -
.....I fall for that all the time so you get a pass from being clowned on
2 -
If you see someone start the Match broken, u just dont slug them. I feel no mither never gets used cuz killers know u have it.
I meant used to pick yourself up, not used as a perk

The unbreakable perk you ask for is a perk called tenacity. It has speed recovery with no ability to stand up. Can also crawl while speed recovery. No mither paired with it ensure I can get myself up while I'm crawling away. To nerf them deer stalker was made along with not leaving someone on the ground.

i had a feeling you were trolling but i always have to be ready
2 -
The unbreakable nerf you mentioned is renders the perk useless. It also isn't that good of an idea.

I like the no mither buff though

I have a newer post in regards to people's feedback on my unbreakable idea.

No mither change would be great but i find unbreakable shouldnt be changed. Its meant to punish a killer for trying to slug the last couple survivors just so they can't get hatch or escape. If anything just slow the rate to 20% so it at least isn't useless

Imagine thinking unbreakable as op

I honestly can’t understand why so many people think No Mither is trash, every killer slugs for the 4K, You remove that option by having NM, and it’s saved me waaaay more than Unbreakable ever has. I use No Mither in about 4 of my main perk builds, and only one of them is for the memes.

I dont like the the Unbreakable change u proposed, it would be too big of a nerf to a perk that can only be used once. I have an alternative idea for No Mither. How about instead of having the Broken effect all game, u get the Exhausted effect all game instead. Then, whenever u are injured, u gain the Mangled effect until u are healed by another survivor. Also, if the devs can, they could make it so that people with No Mither can't heal themselves and have to rely on another survivor for help. Then you could keep the current No Mither effects like the no blood pools and 50% reduction in grunts of pain (I want this to be buffed to 100% but it probably wont happen). This I believe would make the perk more viable and more interesting to use.

NO LITERALLY LMAO, like just say your bad and move on 😭😭
If you wanna keep hooks five inches away from eachother, have perks where you can freaking SEE WHERE survivors are, and camp without repercussions, leave my damn perks alone.
0 -
Pretty sure you can always just camp if you want easy wins and font like slugging.

Bad survivor, no necroing a thread
