Pyramid cage is useless
So i’ve been thinking more about PP man lately because of his upcoming nerf. What does the cage actually give you? Unless the group is swarming you, you have no way of knowing the location of other survivors. More often then not, the survivors instasave from the cage and he gets nothing from it. Not a good look considering he is getting nerfed even further soon.

cage is useless.
The only time I use it is when all other Survivors are either dead or hooked rather than having to lugg them over to a hook myself.
Or if I suspect someone is a DS troll.

I just use the cage incase i suspect ds. If someone is tormented and i know they haven't been hooked recently, i carry them to the hook. If i think they have ds then i use the cage.

Cage only use is to give a free unhook to Survivors that bypasses Decisive and Borrowed.
Other than that, it became absolutely worthless when Survivors cried and cried until it changed to where Pyramid couldn't even defend or check on the Cage because "waaaaaaaaa camping".

If you watch Otz's 50 win streak on PH he shows some good perks that help you know when to cage and when to hook.

Cages save you about 10 seconds carry time on average. You can cross half the map in 10 seconds so that’s more than enough time to start a new chase assuming another survivor is on your half of the map.
If nobody is on your half of the map though then hooking makes more sense since it forces the others to run across the map for the save. Having a short range tracking perk like Infectious Fright is useful if you want something to give info in that regard.

Saves time and lets you hook mid chase. Also lets you destroy DS. They are way more underrated than people realize.

I don't think it is so much as an 'underrated' I think it is just not that "attractive" as it was upon its original release - sending them to a cage that you can see and make your way towards to possibly ambush anyone immediately running for an unhook - all while canceling common meta hook perks DS/BT.
As it stands, if a power needs a specific perk (in examples here, IF), then it needs to be reworked. Powers should be useful an, well, powerful on their own without needing a perk or add-on to make them good.
And the only reason his cage was changed was outcry because "we're being camped at the Cage" - despite the fact it means he was specifically not checking generators or only checking generators on the way to the Cage; and you could still do the gens as is always the case (and BHVR's actual response to 'camping' per a mobile tooltip).

This only reinforces what I know. Hooking is almost always better, hence the cages are worthless.

You use cages to either bypass perks or to hook while another Survivor is in sight that you want to chase.

which means that they're not on gens.
I have no problems with the cage, it saves time overall, I don't have to worry about flashlights, pallet stuns etc - I can get back to pressuring the map instantly.

It really doesn't save time overall. The average time it takes for a survivor to get unhooked is WAY higher than the time it takes them to get uncaged. It's almost always instant unless you can see 3 people around you when you go for it. You lose so much pressure by caging a survivor because the full number are back out and doing gens. There's no threat of you being nearby, you can't even go straight to it because you don't know where it is.
Most survivors won't bumrush the hook instantly if the killer is still around as a threat, especially PH who can hit both the hooked person and the unhooked one together.
You also lose the ability to use some of the strongest perks in the game by caging. No BBQ for info or bloodpoints, no Pop to buy yourself a bit of time.
The only time a cage is worth using is if you've downed them in under 60 seconds after their first hook. Otherwise you're better off keeping them tormented to avoid DS after the 2nd one with final judgement.
Caging just has way too many downsides for the very slight benefit it gives. They don't need to be as far away as possible AND hidden AND relocate if you get near. They should just spawn where you down the survivor, and teleport if you linger too long. That would keep the tiny value they have now, but also give you the time from survivors not wanting to rush in instantly to uncage them, and not require you to walk 60m across the map to find the next person to chase.

Cage should instantly kill the survivor and should be able to be used without torment. Only way it would be useful.
