Profiles in Cowardice (Oct. Edition)
Ok, so I decide to start my day with a little Spooky Myers. I have a Hawkins map and throw it in. Chances are someone else will also put in a map, or block all map offerings. But I had it so what the heck! By the campfire I see an Adam (in Lab coat), a Cheryl (Nurse outfight), a classic Dwight, and I'm not sure about the other one because I never saw him/her in the game at all after the campfire (can't remember).
I got to keep the map, so I'm fired up and figure it will be a good Jump Scare start to the day. I run into the Adam first, and jump scare him and hit him. I hit him once. He disconnects. Ok. I make a mental note to take it easy on the remaining three and let them get two Generators before I really bring any heat. I run into the Cheryl next hit her, she runs off, intercept her later and hit her again for the hook. She disconnects. Ok. The mystery third person (who I can't remember) disconnects. The only person left is the Dwight who, to his credit, soldiers on.
Now I've seen this Dwight moving about and he has some good evasion Skills. I'm tracking his movement, and I know he is looking for the hatch. Kudos to you Dwight. You did it right. He gets out through the hatch, and to be honest he deserved it. I make no attempt to wall hack intercept him. Playing a tough game to the bitter end shows the mettle of a man or woman.
To you other three, who happen to be Red and Purple Ranks (SERIOIUSLY?), what exactly are you made of that you quit like that? Is that how you got yourself up in Rank while the rest of us worked for it? Or were you some sort of lame streamer who discovered it wasn't going to be some early morning potato you could bully, and just jumped ship? You have earned this "Profile in Cowardice" and I'm strongly considering posting it to Youtube to give you the 15 minutes of shame you deserve.

Myers isn't a fun killer to play against, he's op like Nurse, Spirit, Freddy. Only fun killers like Wraith are worth sticking around for

Myers is... Myers is op..?
I'm sorry could you repeat that with eye-contact so I know you're being serious.
Provided your teammates share multiple braincells (which, I admit, solo survivor so it's very unlikely) he's easy to beat due to being able to trap him in T1 for so long.

Translation: Killers I can bully.
8 -
....dude if micheals in T1 you can loop him around a ROCK for 5 gens. You're trolling right?

Scratched mirror Myers IS the most fun killer to go against. Especially on Lerys.
I love the jump scares! It´s those moments, when the game feels like a horror game.
I wish there would be more moments like that.

Follow Up Post; PROFILE IN COURAGE
So I was a little down after my first attempt. I spent some BP and got ANOTHER Hawkins. I just put it in and got to keep it too! This group deserves for me to be able to NAME them here. We can't do that, even when we are giving accolades, but they fought me to the bitter end. You guys know who you are! Just like before, only one person got out (an Ace) but the other three fought tooth and nail. They worked Generators under duress. They did rescues with me breathing down their necks. They managed to lose me and sneak effectively against Spooky Myers (Scratch Mirror + Boyfriend's Memo). So to:
Ace
Cheryl (in Cop Uniform)
Yui
Claudette
This Spooky Myers salutes you.

Other people enjoy it but personally I hate scratched mirror Myers. I love regular Myers but scratched mirror is just lame, honestly. You get hit out of nowhere, he leaves you, then hits you out of nowhere again. There are no chases because he’s only 105%, and chases are the only reason I ever play survivor tbh. Then if the team doesn’t heal he just camps whoever he gets on the hook (sometimes even if people heal he just camps anyway, why not with free aura reading). I’ve played against enough mirror Myers to know that I will have absolutely no fun that match.
That said I don’t disconnect against it, people disconnecting is annoying. But they’re probably not a fan of that add on, and then after the first guy disconnected the others didn’t see a point in continuing.

You just have to change your tactics. Spooky Myers can be fought very effectively. I've lost plenty of games on maps in my favor because the Survivors knew and exploited my lack of speed. If you LET Spooky Myers play the match the way he wants to play it, sure... he will wear you down slow but sure. However, the moment you know you are facing a Spooky Myers your team can get very aggressive. You use spotters. You pick your Generators in locations where you have clear line of sight. The GOOD team I just fought got me down to the last generator. While I won the game, it was in SERIOUS contention.
There is no reason to hate Spooky Myers; you just can't fight him how you play against 90% of other Killers. I think that is the crux of the problem for many. In the real world my hobby of choice is the sport of Fencing. Most people you fight are right handed, and thus most of the practice you get against is right handed Fencers. When that left handed Fencer comes along it throws you off. You just have to make that mental switchover, take a breath, and play against your normal impulses.
Myself, I love to play Spooky Myers and against him. I'm proud to say that I've managed to get 3K and 4K even on McMillian and Cold Wind Farms maps. I've even done it once in the Old West. There are also times when I end up on the large maps with clear lines of sight in all directions cursing bad luck; I soldier on. I know I'm going to be looping and looping and looping again. There really isn't a reason to hate ANY Killer when it comes right down to it. I used to hate the Pig. I never made it out alive of game against her for the longest time. I would always die to the stupid reverse bear trap or she would hook me three times while I ran around like an idiot trying to get it off. Eventually, I figured things out. I had to adapt how I played. So I understand your hate, I just think it is (like mine was) misplaced.

You missed the point of my comment. I don’t dislike mirror Myers because he’s unbeatable; I understand what to do against him. It’s just extremely dull and uninteresting for me. I play survivor to practice chases and there are no chases against a mirror Myers.
1 -
Fair enough, although I will disagree with you a bit. I end up in a LOT of chases playing Spooky Myers. The better the team, the less I can play hit and run. As the Generators pop I end up having to commit to more chases, and give up a lot of practice miles being slow.
But I cede your point and understand where you are coming from. I apologize that I misunderstood and assumed you didn't know the counter play.

everything about this sentence is wrong.
3 -
Your first mistake was you went easy on the other 3 when Adam Dc'ed. It is not your fault he quit. If anything when that happens I tell the remaining group to submit a complaint to the person who quit because they were the cause of everything.
As for red/purple ranks. Ranks never really meant anything in this game. I have noticed since they gutted ruin, ranks REALLY mean nothing these days. Maybe it's just the survivors I've been running into but every since that patch I'm seeing reds who drop pallets prematurely. Purples who sit at a pallet instead of looping. To me it seems like those players were kept in green ranks when old ruin was around. Now that it's gone they can pip without learning to hit great skill checks. They could have been carried by SWFs or maybe the amount of good killer players have dropped. All I'm saying is ever since that patch, the amount of newbie reds has gone up.

Basically they got upset they don't run circles round you. the got a massive ouchie to their egos, cause myers is one of the killers that break their stale MO.
It's the same people who complain about and insta-dc against Deathslinger or PH, on account of them 'not having any counterplay' aka the players outright refuse to go stealthy instead of 'showing off their haxx0r l00ping skillz'
0 -
It’s a really great example👆🏽
I’ve escaped or at least ended up with a safety or +pip by staying the course and playing the game.
Everyone has that same chance.

Someone disconnected at the start. They realized you were doing jumpscare Myers and didn't want to play that. So they left. The games already over at that point. There is no real match to be had. No one wants to walk into a 3v1. The next player tried to play but also realized what you brought and thought "I'm not doing a 3v1 jump scare Myers." Then left. Red ranks know how this will play out. Yeah you can still escape. But it's going to be a long, drawn out, and frustrating game. So why bother? Take the loss and move on. Get a fresh game with 4 people. After all, my survivor games have no dc penalty and insta queues. So why suffer through that?
You seem to think people have some obligation to keep playing you. They don't. You're trying to make this some big thing but meanwhile it's just another game of DBD. Cowardice? Chill out bro, they just didn't want to play your dumb level. Get over it.
1 -
Actually they do have an obligation to play. Disconnecting from the game is part of the reporting system, and for good reason. This game is a social contract. It only works if we all play by the rules. I don't always get the Killer I want, or the ideal situation but I play the game to the bitter end and hopefully learn something from it. Short of losing your internet or a real life emergency, you are expected to finish the games you start.
2 -
There's no point in engaging in discussion with those who dc, they'll just keeping making excuses ultimately ending in the reason "because i can" or something along those lines.
5 -
It's fun if you're new to the game, but the whole "permanent wallhacks and no chases" thing gets stale after a while. Still, would definitely take a scratch mirror Myers over a Deathslinger or Spirit.
2 -
Yeah I think it's because it's...blatant sarcasm or something?
0 -
Sure doesn't seem sarcastic.
1 -
Actually you might be right, looking at his comment history he thinks Demogorgon is the worst killer in the game lmao, so another hot take like this is entirely possible.
1 -
I never disconnect from matches... I find it detrimental for both the Killer and fellow Survivors.
Having three people disconnect on you is always awful and it's disturbing how often that happens to me. Then again, you are talking to the one person that had his own teammate sell them out for the sole purpose of not losing ranks. Some members of this community are truly entitled.
Adding to the Myers discussion, I enjoy going against him because I never know what to expect and I like the jump scares when I truly can't predict where he is.
2 -
That was a true Dweet you had in that match. Toughing it out to the end.
Imagine rage quitting against spooky Mikey. Its like the most fun killer build to go against. Those jump scares are the best. Mikey in general is a fun killer to face.
