HOW WOULD YOU CHANGE: Visionary?
HOW WOULD YOU CHANGE?
is a mini-thread series which I've created in order for the community to tell and explain how they would change things in the game.
Today's pick: Visionary

Visionary
For every Generator that is fully repaired, gain a Token.
For every Token that Visionary has, see the Aura of a Totem.
For every Totem that is cleansed, lose a Token.
What is this?
Idk, i hear enough complaints about bones being impossible to do, and that NOED is OP.
So here ya' go.

Visionary
You're remarkably focused on your means of escape.
You see the auras of generators within 32m of you. Your teamamtes also see these auras.
20 seconds after a generator is completed, Visionary deactivates for 30/20/10 seconds.
Thought process:
Buff a perk to give more information that SWF get for free. Personally I wish things like this would be base kit (your teamamtes seeing the auras you do) because that's then a massive solo buff whilst not touching SWF and will help balance the game, but sticking things like that onto perks is the next best alternative. Suddenly it's become a very powerful solo tool.
I added in the "20 seconds after" caveat because the time you need the perk the most is right after you, or your teammates, need to see where they are.

IMHO Visionary's effect is very good for a beginner, the problem is that it is not available to beginners unless they buy Felix's DLC with money (if you buy it with shards you played enough to not be a beginner anymore)
My "fix": Visionary and Deja Vu (a similar perk) have their effect swapped
Deja Vu shows the aura of generators close to the player - useful and available since the beginning to everyone
Visionary shows the aura of the 3-gen on the map, useful to beginners and veterans, because apparently there is still some shithead at red rank who doesn't know better than 3 genning themselves

This would be perfect, yeah

- You see the Auras of all generators within 36 meters.
- The Repair Progression of Generators can be determined by the intensity of their Auras.
And either:
- You can tell whether the generator has been cursed. If the generator is cursed, its aura will change until the curse has vanished. (Essentially only helps if killer is using Dragon's Grip).
or:
- You can see the aura of the killer when they are 1/2/3 meters from a generator for 3/4/5 seconds within a 36 meter range, with a cooldown of 60/50/40 seconds (Could help in situations or even help loop around the shack for a short amount of time).
These changes would make the perk more appealing to solo survivors as it would offer some benefits of being in a SWF group. Although my last suggestion might be too much? Dunno.

Visionary:
You able to see the aura of regressive generators (that be damaged by the killer or affected by hex: ruin for example) across the map and their progress (like Wraith's addon - "All seeing" - Spirit that allow to see him progress of any generator while cloaked)
lvl 1. - able to see 2 generators that are starting to regress. When any generator been repaired the perk goes to cooldown for 24 seconds
lvl 2. - able to see 3 generators that are starting to regress. When any generator been repaired the perk goes to cooldown for 18 seconds
lvl 3. - able to see 4 generators that are starting to regress. When any generator been repaired the perk goes to cooldown for 12 seconds
Note: Perk shows only aura of generators that start to regress the most recent
For example: if a survivor has lvl 1 of this perk & killer damaged 3rd gen, you'll see the aura of 2nd and 3rd gens that regress
edit: If a gen regress to 0% you no longer see the aura of this gen (like "Surveillance")

I upvoted it, good idea, but it shouldnt require to do alone gens, that would make it trash. Important thing to consider is that it require one of precious perk slots. I believe survs do 2 gens on average. Thats 1-2 auras of totems, lol. It either should help a lot or people wont use it.

This is like asking how you would buff Bond.

This is honestly my only problem with Visionary. Otherwise I believe the perk is 100% fine with how it operates. It's just not immediately available to the players it's intended for.
If I had to change one thing with how it is now though if we were making it for Veteran players I'd probably have it show the auras of generators not being worked in within a certain range. Ideally generators across the map. Granted it would basically just be the complete opposite of Visionary so this is more of a preference thing than being any better or worse.

IMO better take a perk "Detective's hunch" because when somebody repaired a gen, you able to see totems and also gens & chests within 32/48/64 metres for 5 seconds but it's enough to remember & understand where these things are situated

Show gens that are being repaired, regressing, and have not been started. Would give survivor idea, of what gen to work on. Have it reveal exit gates with their progression once gens are completed.

I'd simply remove the cooldown. Maybe lower the range of it a bit so it doesn't steal Deja Vu's.. niche?

Have Visionary show you the progress on gens as well. It could work similarly to Buckle Up. But instead of the progress on survivors in the dying state, it's gens.

I think the cooldown only exists because they needed a way to make it follow the 3 tier structure. Which is silly. It should have another effect.

How?

It has a very clear purpose of finding the objective immediately and always on aura reading. It benefits greatly in maze-like tilesets where gens can't be spotted from a distance.

I agree with @Lycidas that swapping it with Deja Vu would make it more accessible, and that would maybe improve it. Otherwise, I think it's really good the way it is. I run it whenever I don't feel like walking in a circle trying to find a gen, especially on indoor maps, and I like it for that purpose.
