Why can't Killers grab survivours while they heal?
They can grab survivours doing any other action...why is healing immune?

it makes sense they can be grabbed off of anything else, not while theyre healing tho, logically. also itd make healing just awful and not worth it so the genrush no heal meta becomes more common because thats fun right?

Just stop healing when Killer is about to hit you. Honestly, just standing still should make you grabable, lol. I don't see if someone heals in Killers face they shouldn't be grabbed.

It makes sense that the survivor can be grabbed off an object, but it wouldn't make sense that a survivor could be grabbed when healing as they're not actually attached to anything at that point...and this is making more sense in my head, rather than my words - apologies!

How about when healing others and they have both hands out doing their mojo over downed guy. They are distracted and completly into what they are doing. Why can't killer snatch them up? I try to snatch them...but the game won't let me....😔
Can I at least snatch them bald so everyone knows they wear a wig, for the rest of the match?? 😊

yeah i had that same issue- it makes sense in my head why not but i cant put it into words.

To be honest, grabs in general don't make much sense.
Why can't a Killer just grab a Survivor at any point in time? It's not like they're able to fight back and it's not like hitting them with a weapon accomplishes anything more meaningful than putting them on your shoulder does. They go to the hook either way. Grabbing just cuts out the middle man.

The lore answer?
A wizardThe Entity did it.Nea wants it this way, for reasons. Something, something, hope, something, something, despair.

The real answer? Balance and animations.
Grabs already mess with balance a lot already. They don't count towards hostile actions for PWYF or IIRC count towards the Killer's Chaser Emblem. They're a relic of a time when the game was old, clunky, confusing, and strange, and have survived because it made sense to punish really inattentive Survivors and because it's been part of the game for a long time. Suddenly being able to just grab people while they're standing still or healing someone would be probably not be taken very well.
Additionally, outside of Myer's Tombstones, there's no animation for just grabbing a standing Survivor and no animation at all for grabbing a healing Survivor. Creating new animations is always a big deal and forcing a healed Survivor into an animation (even if it's just them staying in their kneeling position) while their healer is grabbed could be even more problematic with dedicated servers than regular grabs are, since both healer and healed can cancel a healing action. Imagine Grabbing a healing Survivor only for them to fly away looking like they're on your shoulder while you move at reduced speed, unable to use your power but without a Survivor on your shoulder, because either person cancelled the healing action at just the right time.

Ehhh in my opinion it doesn't make sense - all because of balance and animations. I'd go on a rant for it, but TheRockstarKnight was faster lmao. I completely agree with him.

yes ok thank you this is basically what i wanted to say thank you for being able to say it,,
2 -
No problem, I'm glad my ability to rant is helpful for once. XD

Hook grabs should be removed. Locker, vault, and generator grabs are fine and dandy.
2 -
All grabs should have the prerequisite of being injured first imo. Then balance perks around that.

Normally I'm known for ranting but this time it failed me 😭
1 -
Healing others has always seemed to me like an action that a survivor should be able to be grabbed off of.
1 -
Thank you, Kind Lemon, for your understanding.. 😳

Yeah, I completely understand.
It is one of those things that although I question it, it has never bothered me, but I wouldn't mind seeing it changed. I think I first thought about it when I wondered why there weren't more opportunities for killers to grab survivors.
1 -
That's a dumb idea. Just hit them. How bad are you at playing killer to ask for that kind of ability.

We could also always just make survivors exposed during all actions. IDV does like so instead of grabs and its mostly working better than grabs in dbd ever did.
I think grabs themselves are good. Obviously not in a perfect state or bugfree. But it adds flavor to the game and even saves the killer some time ( no weapon wipe and picking up, or a whole chase in case of nonvault grabs)
I doubt it'd be hard to adjust perks or emblems to apply to grabs too, while we're at it, Instant downs in general dont work well with emblems lol.

Jokes on you, survivors can't be grabbed 90% of the time they're supposed to be anyway.
The other 10% is when they have decisive ready to go, of course. ;)
2 -
Yeah but if you are close enough to grab you're close enough to hit that surv twice bc they have to take one hit to avoid being grabbed in the first place.

It is very hard to perform a grab without survivors forcing you to do so. There are a few exceptions like hag grab, spirit and tier 1 myers. Even then it takes luck and RNG, yet some people here act as if it's an issue. I got grabbed maybe once in a few weeks against a mirror myers and he only got the grab because i didn't knew what i was up against.
Except for this scenarion and face camping, getting grabben is 100% the survivors fault. I can not count how many times i grabbed a survivor because he f*ed up trying to dumb tech me. Or survivors being grabbed because they greed a gen despite hearing a Spirit coming. It's you fault, realy.

It should be able ingame. Why would someone heal when the killer is coming towards you? And even if it's an undetectable killer grabbing a survivor, they should always be looking around anyways.
1 -
Because that would add even more server-related robs for the killer side?
The less Grab possibilities we got the better the game flows.

Rubbing someone's back is not the same as repairing a gen, pulling apart a totem, or opening a chest.

Jane isn't sitting on my face so she can't get pulled off
That's what I think

If an argument is used too often, it loses its value. That is something survivors didn't get since years.
Who cares if the gen rush meta becomes more common at this point?
0 -
Me. I care. Its very rare survivors genrush against me and very common they heal. I don't want it to be less common because I enjoy having fun.
