Switching targets is lowkey OP
If a Survivor is very aware that you're chasing them and has their route planned ahead of time, even getting the first hit can be a pain. Survivors really thrive when they're in control of the chase and where the loops are happening. In contrast, when Survivors don't run early and haven't planned their routes, often times you can get free hits or even downs.
Most of the time, if a chase seems really Survivor favored. You need to leave them and find someone else because you'll lose tons of time on them. And lots of the time the next person you run into won't be nearly as prepared as the person you had an extended chase with. They also don't know which pallets and stuff have been used. So yeah switching targets is sometimes lowkey OP

Not all killers can afford to do this, and some killer like ph can shutdown loops

Well said! It really is important not to have tunnel vision if you are chasing a Survivor that has many assets at his disposal and knows also how to use them well. 👍️

It works good against Solos, but SWF got a looping route set, even when they're working on gens.

Not always. But they do generally know where their teammates have been looping since it gets called out. So while they don't always have routes pre-planned they do know where the dead zones are.

I'm just curious, what do you do when every survivor got his route planned?
I tell you what i do. I think if i want to mess with the tile the survivor is running to. Most times i want to, because getting rid of strong loops is most times the only chance to win against coordinated teams with Bad killers like legion and clown.

Works less on swf cause they can call out you left but against solo's it's the go to strategy and can really catch people offguard.
I have a general rule of thumb that when i get bloodlust and i don't see a hit or pallet coming soon it's time to drop the chase.
And in general after 1 or 2 pallets i drop the chase too. And honestly after scoring a hit the speed boost the survivor gets also really warrents dropping the chase.

I actually got a gen grab by doing this.... as Billy
Started chase with one survivor heard another survivor on a gen... "got'cha"

Strong survivors don't really get in bad positions. That's why killers like clown and deathslinger aren't really considered "good". Even strong 1v1 doesn't really makes a difference at the end.
DbD is a depressing game.

That's such a ridiculous statement. The killer makes areas "bad." If there are generators near where you previously chased someone and broke pallets, the areas is bad but the survivors have to be there.

I'm not really interested in a discussion with you. Oni op. Spirit op. New nurse totally fine. Have a good evening man.

You have to eventually as survivor to get the unsafe gens done. It's not like you can just hide out at fun bus all game lol.

I mean, against a chase Killer like Clown and Deathslinger, there is no unsafe generator aside from the one they're at right then. They have no auxillary pressure, so generators are open season.

Depends on the killer your playing really.
Some do it better than others and some excel at getting one person over hitting a bunch.

If all 4 survivors are very strong runners, you stick to the basics and do the best you can. It comes down to killer/map balance in that scenario if you're playing every tile more or less correct but still not getting hits. There will almost always be a small opportunity or two to capitalize on. Sometimes they try to greed hook states and you can return to the hook to force struggle, possibly even go 2 for 1. Sometimes you have to make the decision to be more defensive early on if you get the sense it's a particularly strong team. Etc. It's tough, but there are options.

Most important skill as killer is to know when to take a chase and know when not to... and how good you are at it will determine how quickly you make that call. Do you immediately see a survivor, and see them running to a pallot. Is it a safe pallot, an unsafe pallot, a jungle gym or a completely unfair loop? The right decisions over the course of a game will save you minutes each game.
If you can make that assessment immediately, you're on your way to being a top tier killer.

I've literally never said current Oni or Spirit are OP.

Local forum user discovered playing smart as killer makes you win more than lose. More at 11.

Too many killers don't play by this advice. Leaving a chase feels unnatural at first and like "losing", but i won games because i switched just in time after chasing someone for 2 generators. Now i have a much better feeling if i should chase that guy or leave him after the pallet drop. It's all about time management in the end.
It won't help you against a good 4 man but nothing really does. But the normal survivor is often not very aware - if he/she sees that someone got injured, they feel safe because you're in a chase.

Sometimes it's best not to bother. I feel this lol
