If a Survivor is very aware that you're chasing them and has their route planned ahead of time, even getting the first hit can be a pain. Survivors really thrive when they're in control of the chase and where the loops are happening. In contrast, when Survivors don't run early and haven't planned their routes, often times you can get free hits or even downs.

Most of the time, if a chase seems really Survivor favored. You need to leave them and find someone else because you'll lose tons of time on them. And lots of the time the next person you run into won't be nearly as prepared as the person you had an extended chase with. They also don't know which pallets and stuff have been used. So yeah switching targets is sometimes lowkey OP
