How is Ormand even remotely okay?
I just had a match playing Blight, and its really hard to get around the map with him if every "Obstacle" he can bounce off of makes him straight up slide off of it. I can slightly understand the snow piles, but there's this sign right outside of the main building that's completely flat and 100% reasonable to bounce on, but you instead slide along it, even when hitting it dead on. Not even from an angle, just straight on.
Another thing is the invisible sky hitboxes for the main building. There are multiple spots up top where if you were any killer with mobility, your speed will be stopped by them. It shuts down a lot of cool plays you could do as Billy or Demo, and its a real damn shame too.
Let's also talk about the loops, and the general spacing of the loops. I've notice a trend in some maps that make them "Sided" or "Balanced". Dead Dawg Saloon is a pretty all rounded map because most of the pallets and building spawns are consistent. The killer shack, saloon, hanging station, buildings, and windmills are all in the same spot each time you load in, and there are consistent pallet spawns with each of the tiles. the hangman has the one pallet adjacent with it, and the same with the saloon. Ormand is consistently inconsistent with the tiles it throws out, and some loops that just don't show up anywhere but the Yamaoka maps are bountiful, and also incredibly safe. I can't describe it accurately but its the tile with the long wall with a window, junk in the middle, and the other side has a pallet that is the same direction. As much as I know, there isn't really a proper way to run it as killer. Now I'm not saying that those sort of tiles should be removed, far from it, survivors need amazing loops for their teams, but on Ormand, it shows up way too damn much, and there's often another loop next to it.
Personally, I believe if you want to make the game truly "Fair" instead of balancing perks, focus on the maps, since they play a huge role with all of it. After all, you can't play a match if maps don't exist.

The map is considered by a large majority of the community to be overly survivor biased. No one thinks this map is okay, not even survivor mains. The dev team will hopefully give it a balance readjustment once it gets its graphic overhaul.

I have seen 2 people in recent memory on this from say this map is fine
0 -
Yeah Ormond is rough but I have hope they fix it when the graphics get updated for the map although that means it's gonna be a long time.
0 -
I think there are more than just 2.
@topic
Ormond is not okay.
2 -
Ormond looks cool I hope we get another snow map maybe in a December update eventually.
That being said it needs a bit of a rework in the future and will probably get one with the new graphics updates to older maps
2 -
Joke's on you, I'm a survivor main and still lose on Ormond because I suck!
13 -
It isn't. It needs a hug.
3 -
Ormand has been having problems since day one. It was removed from rotation for a few weeks when it first dropped, and even now has an assortment of issues plaguing it.
0 -
It´s the biggest map design flaw ever since infinites were created. Only trolls or inexperienced players might deem it okay.
0 -
Ormond was a mistake. No question about it. It's not just that it has an abundance of overly strong tiles surrounding a strong main building, it's that those strong tiles can be combined with other tiles to form omega tiles. That fairly safe filler pallet next to the L/T wall? What if I loop the long side of the filler pallet tile, and whichever way the killer goes I have a fast vault on the L wall? And when the killer loops the L wall, I just go back to the pallet, or I have a fast fault to the T wall. I've just combined two tiles to form an omega jungle gym, and after at least 30 seconds of that, the killer breaks that pallet just for the opportunity to follow me to another jungle gym. It's completely conceivable for 3 gens to go in the span of 2 pallets on Ormond. It's broken.
7 -
Oddly, during my Killer rounds, Ormond is one of my most successful maps! I find traversing through the central building pretty easy to manage the gens, as well as able to control the map.
I'd be up for any changes since people have quite a few issues with it, and I do see some jungle gyms closer together than they ought to be. It's not one of the best maps, and certainly not on par with anything on the MacMillan Estate or Dead Dawg Saloon. I'm guessing I broke it :D

Even though Ormond is one of the lesser maps and one of the most brought map offerings I have seen, nothing beats Haddonfield in terms of my hatred to play on as a killer.
4 -
The best part is that the Devs reworked it and it's still amazingly terrible. They basically made it so that instead of 6 maze tiles on each side, there's only 3, and the rest are extremely strong Ormond-native junk tiles that basically cannot be played thanks to the proximity of other tiles (something that was supposed to be fixed). And they didn't change the main building, so there's still a couple of infinites that can spawn.

There will always be people who have no clue or are straight up ignorant. I encountered people who think that Lerys is a good map for huntress. If you see statements like that you already know that you will never be able to have a decent conversation with those people xD

It's so terribly designed and so survivor sided.
- Multiple strong tiles to chain together.
- Safe pallets and windows in the main building.
- Easy to spot totems.
- It's extremely hard to track scratchmarks.
- The map is also very large.
- Survivors can easily see stealth killers.
3 -
I suffered on this map with Doctor the other day. Survivors just have too many strong things to work with. My only option was to proxy camp at 1 gen. Got so much salt.
0 -
With Undying and Tinkerer, it almost balances out.
Considering how many maps are so killer sided with so much deadzones, survivors do need a map or two to have it easier.
After a Spirit brings in the most ridiculous build and slaughters everyone because of auras all over the screen on the tiny McMillan map, an Ormond map is a breath of fresh air.

Are we playing the same game? 🤣
You can tell how busted a map is by how often one side uses an offering for it. That alone is conclusive proof that Ormond is busted as hell since survivors are burning it non-stop these days.
11 -
Of course you´re entitled to your opinion - yet this is a really, really unpopular one I´m afraid. Can you really not see how Ormond is insanely unbalanced?
4 -
Is it busted or just a little more fair? With the current killer meta, I would say it is a little more fair in this case, not really busted.
0 -
this question could be asked about a few of the maps. Badham pre school, Dark AF and hard to find gens in
Yamaoka estate to dark again.
Hawkins lab, too closed in and confusing layout.
the swamp generator and hook placements are insane sometimes.
you name it every map has something people don't like about it
0 -
The current "killer meta" isn't even the power of Ruin/Undying, it's relying on survivors to be lazy morons who adamantly refuse to do anything but gens and rescues.
5 -
What about the DS, UB and DH meta on 4 survivors? Have you considered that? Or the possibility of survivors running detectives hunch? Ruin and undying was made to be a bandaid for gen speeds and bad totem spots just like how DS was supposedly meant to address tunneling.
Ormond is one of the worst maps to ever exist and it will and should get balanced when it's graphically updated.
3 -
Wait, Ormond is one of the best maps. Who said this map needs nerfs?
0 -
What are you talking about. Survivor use Ormond offerings because it's one of the best maps in the game right now, because
- it's the only map on day
- has snow
- the Clubhouse of the Legion (yes this is a plus)
- Overall great Design
What are you mean with busted?
0 -
With the right setup a survivor can be quite literally invincible against anything but Nurse for well over 5 minutes. By that time all gens will be done. The unique jungle gym tiles are the strongest generic tiles in the game. Snow makes it so ridiculously hard to see scratch marks on sometimes it's insane. Auras are noticeably dimmer too. And you think this map had "overall great design"?

Play all the M1 killers at rank 1 on Ormond for a few days and then come back to me and tell me how it feels balanced.
It’s too large with far too many pallets.
0 -
I Play Demo and get always a 4k on every map :3
How is a map too large? That would also mean survivor have to walk longer to a generator which would increase the time to finish them. Also too many pallets?? You know that you complain about one of the two things survivor have against the Killer. Maybe you should not always sweat for the 4k? That would Help your mantel Heath...maybe
0 -
Same thing I alredy wrote like 20 times all map are ok (Ok Larrys and maybe the Game need Changes) and don't need any buffs for Killer. This game is alredy too Killersided.
0 -
“Dont try to win, accept some maps are impossible to 4k on”
Have you realised how ridiculous that sounds?
Also my mental health is fine thank you very much. Pointing out a map is unbalanced doesnt meant I sweat or stress about the game. Most good videogames tend to balance things that are unbalanced though. DBD is quite unique in that it leaves things unbalanced for years at a time.
If you’re getting the 4k as Demo every game you’re doing better than a lot of other players. Highest rank i assume? You should start streaming maybe a lot of people could learn from you
3 -
Well my Point is play for your fun. But remember everyone who plays the game also want have fun. And tbh do you relly think it's impossible to 4k in Ormond?
And thank you for your compliment but I don't like to "flex" (Hope I wrote it right) or Like it that people "watching" me in generell. The only thing you would see is a girl who can't talk because she is to shy to say something.
Edit: I mean you don't want to see a Zombie play dbd right? :D

The jrm already made a video on how literally one person with a gen rushing build can easily end a game without the killer being able to do anything about it. Then again he wasn't even on a bad map for the killer, imagine if he was on ormond where every pallet is 0.1 meters apart(exaggeration but too many safe pallets), and the gens are so far apart when survivors spawn on gens make it impossible for map pressure. But yeah we should totally believe you 4k every game without any video evidence.
0 -
What Video? I hope you joking If one survivor do all 5 gens and Killer still Chase one survivor. How is this the survivor fail?
0 -
Its the first match I want you to focus on due to him using the toolbox for sabotaging hooks instead of gens in the second.
0 -
My point was it only takes one gen rusher for gens to be done very ######### quickly,
0 -
He would still need 5 min.
0 -
OMG do you actually think i mean one survivor can do 5 gens, because thats not what I mean. It only takes one gen rusher to boost an entire team which results in the gens going by way too quickly
0 -
Yes because YOU said you only need one Gen rusher to make all gens.
0 -
"It only takes one gen rusher for gens to be done very ######### quickly"
I didn't think this meant I was saying one dude can do 5 gens quickly but go off, because you don't have a counter to this evidence
0 -
I have nothing to say because all maps (Not Larry or the game) are great, Gen times are also fine. Maybe you should get gud or learn how to pressure gens and then come back to talk.
0 -
All maps are fine except lery's and the game, so basically any map that is killer sided isn't fine but the maps that are aren't? lol and you say gen times are fine when that video evidence clearly states otherwise. Learn how to pressure gens?
1 -
Which Video? And yes the maps except lary and the game are fine. What is your problem with that? And for the last time GENS TIMES are FINE. Stop crying and pressure gens. You only need to Press W
0 -
I wasnt saying it was impossible i was trying to show how ridiculous going into the game and not expecting a fair chance of winning is.
Pretty much everyone agrees Ormond is unbalanced and coldwind and Ormond are the two most used map offerings by survivors.....take that for what you will

I literally linked the ######### video i was talking about and ill do it again

As someone who has played a lot of solo I’m gonna have to disagree.
If I take a genrush build like that then either the other 3 survivors are in the dying state by the time I’ve done the first gen or I get it 99% complete only to be chased off and have Ruin regress the entire thing, I’ll then be chased for about 3 gens, then be tunneled out as the other 3 muppets all crouch around the hook.
There’s less than a 1/100 chance of a genrush solo player being able to boost a team. You need a team of good players and that doesn’t happen anymore.
0 -
Like I said i linked a video where someone did this exact thing and gen rushed easily, then in the next match says he wasn't gonna do it in a 4 man because it was boring and didn't even try to gen rush in the second with one other person. So we can agree to disagree on that one, because i do understand your stance
0 -
I'm perfectly fine w ormund. I love how this game is unbalanced. It will never be balanced. That is the beauty of this game

Watched your video and yes I agree a genrushing build can be overbearing to deal with that video isn't a good indicator of your point. 1. The video doesn't show the whole match and is edited. No way to know how long the match actually took aside from what the narrator says. 2. Wasn't your point that he was solo and broke the game? Dude straight up says the match is SWF genrushing team.

LMAOOO "most maps are killer sided" is maybe the funniest thing I've read in the forums ever. Do you even realise how big Farm maps are? How long it takes to get to the other side of the debris on Gas Heaven? How many completely safe windows, gens and balconies are on Haddonfield? How far away gens can spawn on Yamaoka?
You're either too bad at this game or haven't played more than 100 hours because you have no clue what you're talking about.
