Honestly that makes sense solo que doesn't produce reliable teammates. And that other percent is likely SWF. One question though is this across all platforms?

It doesn't mean anything, just like the rest of the stats we get. There are WAY too many variables in play for this to be considered a legit statistic.
What ranks were the Survivors? What ranks were the Killers? SWF or no SWF? Mori's or no Mori? Meta perks or meme build?

wonder how many of the 50m were due to the inept attempt at mmr where red rank killers were wiping rank 20s in under 8 mins.
the stats are so worthless at this point. The matchmaking, failed MMR, hook suicide, dc that leaves 3v1, the list goes on and on.

Well my initial opinion is that percentage doesn't sound correct. It appears a bit off. :) But I'm probably forgetting some step.

Look's about right.
Now think of it. Most killers complaints are about organized SWF groups with voice comms, OOO and what not bullieng them.
If that could be stripped from the game devs could think about balancing the game a bit more in the favor of the survivors.
What is annoying from the survivor perspective is getting paired with groups that have low skill. If you have to run for hooks from the start of the game chances are much higher you run into the killer more frequently and die more often by yourself.
You don't have to be a genius looper to play good but most survivors can't either loop nor stay hidden.
The hardest matches as a killer are those where you don't find anyone. If not for info perks like tinkerer i could throw the towl against good groups, even if they don't manage to loop me all day.

No you're right there is a bunch of variables. So I wouldn't say this should be universally used. But it gives an overall broad idea although flawed.

IIRC the last stats we got showed 80% survival rate at rank 1 (skewed due to ranking issues) yet still 60% at rank 2. This alleged insane drop in survival rate makes me wonder if we had a tremendus influx of new players that got wrecked by hardcore killers during the mmr system (r1 killer with 1k+ hrs vs literal 4x rank 20 all the time) or if low rank survivors make up the vast majority of games.

These stats do nothing if no one can tell how they came to be (same with the perk stats. it doesn't matter that Lithe's more used than DS. it's the how DS is used)

Its easy to mess up things like that, especially if its late and you are already tired and sleepy so no worry.

Which stats are you referencing? Cause the last stats I have seen, survival rates have been ~40%. And even 4 man SWFs didn't exceed a 50% survival rate.

Well it gives a little bit of a mismatched view. Grabbing a single type of measuring point and trying to make a conclusion is just wrong.
There are multiple variables that are in play that are totally ignored here. We don't even know how many games were played that produced these numbers. How are DCs registered? Are games where a DC or first hook suicide happens early on in the match counted? These are aspects that skewer the numbers drastically and it isn't like DCs were all that irregular.
Frankly I think it would be far more interesting to see how many hook happen on average per game, how many hook stages average per kill, how many gens are completed and an overview of when deaths happen based on when gens are completed and that type of information that shows more about the game.
If we want to make any type of conclusion then you need more information. The information here is pretty much irrelevant other than look people play the game.

When anyone brings up these stats, I will tell them that nurse needs a buff, because she's statistically the weakest killer.

I can see these stats being accurate. Anyone who plays this game can see it. The sheer amount of brain dead solo queue players out there is insane. They can't even die slowly. They gotta screw over the team by suiciding on hook cuz you don't instantly teleport next to them the moment coast is clear.

It means that survivors escaping is less than the kills of a killer. There are more survivors than killers so common sense would say that it's easier to kill th an escape

Now that is an eye opener for the devs to re-buff survivors and maps and nerf killer slowdown and aura perks. Those killrates are totally unacceptable!!

It would make sense that most will come from the ranks 16-20 considering how unexperienced survivors are at these ranks

This doesn't tell you anything at all. For all we know 49 million of those kills could be Survivors killing themselves on first hook.

Was dc's counted? Who knows? Was the time frame given? This will be every nerf "Insert something killer related here" that has no merit post. Needed nerfs should still happen but this will be the fall guy.

Well there could be a few extra factors that cause this:
Disconnects: As soon as the first Survivor dcs all 4 basically loose, if the Killer knows how to play. Disconnect paneltys reduced dcs but as we know that didnt last long.
Timeframe: depending on the timeframe of these stats many things could affect the numbers. Is it at the end of a rift ? Were rifts even introduced? Were dc penaltys active ? And so on.
Challenges: Many survivors just play to finish their Tome challenge, suiciding or dcing as soon as they cant complete the challanges anymore or as soon as they complete the challenge.

False stats/hacks: Have you ever seen those videos of hackers that spawn hundreds of inactive player characters in the match ? Well if you count those in the stats you get a huge false number. These "players" could even be sacrificed by the Killer if i remember correctly. Also dcs could count double for this statistic under some circumstances.

It just means the survivor feels they can't escape due to oppressive killer, etc. A suicide also means player is not even having fun which is even worse.

Also, aren't there 1 or a few posts on here everyday complaining about hook suiciders?
Every bit helps.
Not saying that it should be the other way around, but these numbers simply lack context.

It's cuz these stats tell us nothing other than solo queue sucks ( that's what it tells me at least) and even that is iffy. These stats look like lifetime stats to me cuz DBD isn't big enough to have so many matches when u consider the fact that it takes 5 players to get a match. If it is lifetime stats then they're useless.

I usually make stupidly risky plays during end game collapse and sacrifice myself on purpose even if I could have just shrugged my shoulders at my team and ran away....so checks out.

Time period? Context? Ranks? Were DC's removed from the numbers? (Although honestly DC's wouldn't have caused such a large increase in deaths as this would suggest) etc.

Yeah, this doesn't say anything. Break it down by rank, and what variables are in the mix. It really bugs me when they release this crap, since it doesn't actually say anything when it comes to balance.

This is not a good stat lets say you play killer and one survivor dc the first minute believe me you will stomp the remaining survivor not only that but hook suicide is a thing too people need to take this with a grain of salt

50000 survs died total.. Then add a pie chart and show what ways the surv died. Even then hella variables

That's probably normal numbers if they're including survivor DCs as kills.

Disconnects are evaluated differently than kills, so why would you believe that they are a component of that statistic? Every time a survivor disconnects it gives BP for abandoned, so the game is aware that someone has DC'd, and so far as I know does not count it as a kill.
